This is actually from Chicago II, not Chicago Transit Authority. A great suite of 7 songs and some of Chicago's greatest music, either way. Thanks for posting it.
First, the name of the group of songs is "Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon." Second, it's from their second album, in which the band was renamed simply Chicago; they only went by Chicago Transit Authority on their first album. I much prefer the Tanglewood versions with Terry Kath, but unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a complete version of "Ballet" from Tanglewood on UA-cam. So at least this is a full version of the "Ballet" but it falls short without the soulful vocals and amazing guitar of Kath, IMO. But glad you all enjoy this band, who were amazing in their early days.
Звери, Thet are beasts! Best band in the world ! Their music is so clever but some songs are so sensetive best ballads ever! A grouop of genious people!
@@pgeinvestigationsinc.3691 after Terry died, Bill Champlin sang it for a couple years. Robert Lamm took over and sang it for over 20 years at every concert I’ve been to and seen. Lee Loughnane took over in the last 10 years or so
@@RobSaulShow I just saw Chicago this spring (Turning Stone, Verona NY).. Unfortunately they knocked it down to Make Me Smile, Colour MY World, and to (reprise) Now More than Ever (I guess they did the whole thing at other venues).... Lee Loughnane sang Colour My World , and did a wonderful job at it!) (I Saw them in 1981, I don't recall everything, but Lamm did sing it there.
WTF is that Bill does on vocals?! Yeah, dude OVER sings everything, but butchers this song so badly, the melody is almost unrecognizable, with all those squeaky, shrieking falsetto notes. So he was the best choice they had, really?

Usually, Lee Loughnane sings "Color My World"; a rare moment that Robert Lamm steps up ...
oh contrare.....Terry Kath sang Colour My World originally.......
@@chuckbalogh296 - Yes. But in just about every iteration post-Kath, it's been Loughnane; very rarely will Lamm fill that role.

''it is rare and well done''. thanks
From "Chicago II . . NOT CTA

NOT RARE . . . Sorry . . . Just Sayin' !! :-P
Jason's Bass was awsome in this song
Why would this be rare?
adorablejaney coz it's well done.. that's why.

I thought the same. His vocals are a disaster. Lou Pardini Jr. does a much better job.
Have always felt the same.
I cant stand Bill Champlins nasal vpice! He totally ruins this song! Yuk!
This might be the worst version of this suite that I've ever heard. Maybe that's why it's rare.
Musically, not bad, overdone on the keyboards (Bill Champlin - both kb and vocals...)
awful
