ok short story! So while in college in Kirksville Misery there was a KFC buffet near our college campus and we used to go on sundays after saving up for a week. We were all super poor college kids and my buddy used to sneak fried chicken out from the buffet to eat in the dorms. The method he used to sneak the FRIED chicken out was...put it down his pants....I know, yes I also asked him why he did that cause that's so gross. His response, I just washed my underwear.
I want to learn to love myself like how Mike does. He brings himself to dates, eating buffet, drinking boba, playing arcade. He's such a positive inspiration.

Been eating KFC since 1978 and they call that crust they’re serving the “original” There’s also a crunchy version they offer as an alternative looking for a crunchy version. I still prefer the original. But lately KFC been serving saltier chicken.
No, the original KFC chicken was slightly crispy, cooked to a nearly walnut brown, and bones frequently broke while eating it. After the 70s, only once did I come across a duplicate of this type of chicken. It was from KFC and was original recipe that had been overcooked by several minutes. The dry chicken may be a cause of rapid thaw. They instead of thaw it out normally over a few days in the refrigerator. They thawed it out less then a day. Which means that some chicken cooked semi frozen. Which makes the chicken and any meat tough and dry.
This is the most UA-camy I've ever seen Mike. By that I mean, a lot of UA-camrs just give hot takes, are mean, and, in between, trying to make cute faces. Usually he's way more chill. I guess that train ride and wait really bothered him.
That original recipe at KFC in the 1970s was never made crispy or extra crispy. As a little kid I loved that soft steamed skin! You’re so lucky to have a buffet. I did make it to the regular KFC in Korea, but the only thing there that bothered me was the cars parked backwards😁

Of all your videos of you over the years, I love the ones in Japan the most. You appear the most happy in them and I not only mean with the food but overall :)! I hope you have the chance to spend a longer time there
Dry chicken from KFC...*gasp* I never woulda thunk! 90% of the times I've ever had KFC, its dry. White meat is like chewing clumps of saw dust super glued together while dark meat is as greasy as biting into a chunk of shortening. It didn't help that the KFC that use to be near me took the extra step to really screw things up.
My luck has been 50/50 with KFC here in Canada - Churches Chicken is far better. But when I was living in Chengdu, China, the KFC there was pretty darn good. Only ate there a couple of times since Sichuan food is so, so good. But, believe it or not, the best chicken I had in China was at the McDonalds near our school; their spicy chicken sandwich was incredibly good!
The KFCs in the washington, DC area are just like that too. all dry as hell with soggy skin. Someone pointed out to me that the reason the skin isnt crispy is because KFC oven baked their fried chicken instead of frying. thats why they now have a "crispy" version.

and being a dry piece of originals just make it worse. xD
I like ur videos man.. Just pure joy... No fake review... Food is life..!! Go strictly dumpling...!!!
I honestly have loved & still love your videos to this day Mikey! I'm a CBC (Canadian born Chinese) as well as a chef. Well more like a chef in the making 😂 and you inspire me so much more to cook (and eat of course). I loved your videos from Hong Kong, and had traveled to some of the places that you went to/recommended! 😊 haha I hope you see this 🙈 Love from you're Snow Mexican neighbours up north 😊🇨🇦
thanks so much!!! keep rocking it out
I feel like I want to meet Mikey and hug him and say “please bring me everywhere you go eating”
@Niken C. I totally agree with you and that's what I think every time he post's a video on this channel and while I'm watching them. 😂
Hug me instead
First time watching your videos - awesome content. Thanks for sharing your food adventures. Makes me want to visit Tokyo!
And not because of KFC - but the other things in your video :D
Hey Mike, i think they’re not supposed to be crispy! We have them in KFC here in PH and they’re soft even when freshly cooked and still hot.
Of all your videos of you over the years, I love the ones in Japan the most. You appear the most happy in them and I not only mean with the food but overall :)! I hope you have the chance to spend a longer time there
haha I am
3:22 Mike: "My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined."
Yeah? What do you know?! You're just a headless chicken yourself!
I guess I have low food standards since I enjoy KFC.
I live in Chile and here all KFC serve very juicy and crispy shicken, haven't review Popeyes yet.
