My two cousins Kim and Mark were on this ferry when it capsized - they had won tickets on a trip from an Anglia TV competition. Fortunately not only did they survive but were able to assist others escape this terrible tragedy....They both suffered a lot ffrom "survivor guilt" and rarely talk about it...
The owners of this ship were GENIUSES. Anyone ever notice how we never heard of "Townsend Torenson" after this? because they almost immediately renamed themselves too...... P&O :)
my uncle was just leaving the harbor with his fishing boat when he saw the ship laying on his side , he immediatly went to the ship and helped people , my parents said that when you looked at day to the ship from the harbor it was like one big black cloud just hanging over it , really creepy
not sure why we need the repeats....to max out the 10 minutes? This video is available in its entirety...no need to watch multiple installments that repeat.....
If the details disclosed in the video are correct: Trying to stick to an unrealistic schedule, rush in haste was never going to be a good idea.. Life is practicality based not theoretical..

I always wonder who constructs such ships. I mean, even the dumbest layman can see that this ship was higher than it was wide & there is a higher danger of capsizing. Same for the Al-Salam Bocaccio 98 that sank in Egypt 2006 - are there any physicians involved in the construction of such unstable ships?? or is it just "put in as many floors as possible, so we can stuff in as many people & make as much money as possible"

my mate at work was on this and he cant go near swimming pools or theme parks because he doesnt like groups screaming.

Yep, the Herald’s sister ships were also renamed and repainted following the disaster, one of her sisters shows up at 1:08

There was nothing wrong with this ship's design but with the crew operating her.
