@@notacarguy_au I do have just one question, if it isn't too much of a burden that is, more of a request really. Would it be possible for you to do a video a bit more in-depth of the trunk space? Maybe using some common household items, boxes, possibly a stroller, or maybe even a Costco run. My only current concern is the trunk space because of the slanted roofline. We (my family and I) currently own a crossover, and the trunk space for a family of 4 is our biggest worry. We know car seats will fit fine passenger wise, but we aren't too certain about how things will fit in the trunk. Even any info on this, rather than a video, would be greatly appreciated!

Growing up, my mom drove with both feet. Of course we were taught that's not the right way. Although I can see the benefit of it. Fast forward to today's one pedal driving. It is essentially giving the driver the control in one pedal, what a two feet driving provides. 😂
I was chatting a friend of mine just last night. His wife has a Model 3 and he doesn't drive it that often. He was asking if you could find like creep. So he didn't know about it. Many years ago, as a member of the BMW Car Club, I was trained on how to use Left Foot Braking correctly (even in a manual car). Since driving the Tesla, I use Left Foot Braking 100% (when required, which is rarely). Stick with it, LFB is much faster than using the right foot. Example: I'm cruising along and someone noses out of a driveway ahead - I immediately hover my left foot over the brake. Same with traffic lights that have been green for a while - chances are they will change and you may need to actually USE the brake, sometimes quite forcefully. Regen is good for most things, but LFB is always the best backup IMO.

Yes, but as I keep saying. "I am easily impressed". 😉 Also, not being a car person, all my cars in the past have been very basic, get me from A to B types. You know, cheap! 🤣
Thanks for your comment. I think it's a mix. For those of us who love being on the cutting edge of tech, totally the place to be. But I think also there still needs to be electric cars that look and feel like todays cars but just so happen to be electric. This will help folks who aren't really into tech to make the move the electric.

Funny you say that. I was just chatting to my wife the other day and we realised that often when driving around we think a Model 3 or Model Y is coming towards us and it turns out to be a Porsche. Not sure if other people have this, but it seems they looks similar to us from the front. 🤣
Thanks Phil, Hope you enjoy your Model Y as much as we are enjoying ours. I am a bit jealous of you UK folks as you have the option of the long range model. We only get the Standard and the Performance here and the P model isn't coming till next year I think.
Hello Lee. Great video, love your humor and approach to your Tesla overview. I’m waiting for the exact vehicle (with steering wheel on the proper side) and watching many Model Y video’s to prepare for its arrival. This is one of the Best. I do look forward to a deeper dive into the controls and your thoughts on how to best set them up. Will be interested in your road trips and battery management along the way. I still haven’t seen a clear review on cost per mile comparing electric to gasoline. I’ve seen some use of the Tesla App where you input your fully loaded local electric rate and the App compares to gas at various prices per gal but the numbers vary greatly.
Hi Randy, thank for your comment. I am planning on doing videos about those types of topics. Though from what I can tell at the moment a lot of the answers to your questions is that it depends. 😉 How much extra stuff you have packed in the car, how much head wind or tail wind you have. Are you doing city stop/start driving or are you doing highway driving. All these things and more can effect the cars range. In regards to cost, well that can also vary a lot. We have solar and so try to charge the car during the middle of the day when it will be getting all it's charge from our solar panels (kinda free if you ignore what the panels cost us). But when on road trips we may want to use a super charger which at the moment costs 0.69 cents per kw in Australia. Though if we don't need a huge fast charge there are free chargers we could use. Or there is a middle option which is non Tesla fast chargers which aren't free but cheaper than the Tesla ones. On the bright side for me, this means I have loads more content to create to talk about all these things in the future. ☺️ P.S. we will have to agree to disagree as to which side is the correct side for a steering wheel. 😜
One pedal driving is amazing. Also safer as well, if you take your foot off the pedal for any reason, the car will quickly come to a stop. No idle rolling.
Oh and as someone deeply entrenched in the Apple eco system, I'd be very keen to know how/if you use Apple Car play and just how you integrate your watch in all this.
Apple Watch does work though. You have to get a digital key from tesla to link the watch, but you can do many things to control the car with just your wrist
@@justinstewart3248 oh that is cool! Do you know if it's possible to link a Garmin watch as the key as well? Would be such a great solution for surfing...
I also like to say or agree and support the points being made in videos regarding the features or the ability or inability of the car as i am being consumed by one now. Regarding trust of the car with autopilot i like to say, I don’t trust the car auto stuff although its very good and I always trust the driver bcos they are more traffic aware than the car.
It's a challenging one. The autopilot is certainly good, but not perfect. I think it would be better called a driver aid. Keep in mind, I've only had the car for a few weeks and only driven about 2000km in it. But my finding is that it certainly helps me and makes driving easier, but I can't rely on it completely and still have to pay attention to the road and conditions.
@@Dan007LoveKhmerMusic There is one HUGE problem that Lee probably had not experienced in his few weeks of ownership, and that is PHANTOM BRAKING. It can be downright dangerous if there is someone close behind you. Usually happens on bright sunny days, when there are shadows on the road. The forward camera picks up a shadow under a bridge for example, and the computer can have a heart attack (but not always). It can then slam on the brakes going from 110kph to 80 in no time. Quick fix is to have your right foot hovering over the accelerator when you see a shadow coming up. If PB happens, just mash the gas pedal to get out of the problem braking.
Thanks for you reviews - so down to Earth and engaging. You might have just convinced me to finally get a Tesla. The question for me now is which one? Coming from a SUV, the new Y model looks the goods. But after trying to rationalise my actual travelling needs, I am still wavering between the Y model and maybe one of the sedans. I am still not sure of the difference between the S model and Model 3 - I think the Model 3 is newer technology (?). Anyway, great review - I hope to see more content from you. Going to visit a Tesla showroom soon!
Hi David, Thanks for the kind comments, I'm very glad you found the video helpful. I think in regards to which one to get, well that of course depends on what you need and what you want. It also depends on where you are in the world. For example, I think the Model S and X are only really available in the the US at the moment. I recently rented an older Model S whilst in New Zealand and one of the things I noticed that I missed from my Y was how high up you sit. The sedans so sit quite low. Now of course if you like that, then it's great, but I certainly prefer sitting higher up in the more SUV like Y. Well worth going for a test drive of each and seeing how they feel for you. I don't think they do this anymore in Australia, but you used to be able to "test drive" the car overnight, which I think would be great as you get more of an idea of how they work rather than just a 30 minute test drive, which is what they do now in Australia. May also be worth maybe renting one for a weekend to see what the experience is like.
Thanks, you know I don't think I ever actually ended up editing the Apollo Bay stuff. I shot some content, but never did anything with it. But if you're looking for something like a family road trip, I uploaded one to Adelaide a few weeks ago you can watch. ☺️
Listening to you - good job; but you need to get FSD, you would so enjoy the technology. Get it while the price jas not-increased yet. (from Ca adahere)
I'd be happy to start a patreon if you're "volunteering" to pay for it. 😉 I am keen to get it, but my bank account needs some time to recover from the cost of buying the car.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely message. So glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully you’ll enjoy some of my other videos and learn a bit from them too. 😀🙏🏻👍🏻
I got the Tesorries ones, but I was also looking at the Jowua ones, but they were out of stock. Funny story, I got emailed about a week ago from Jowua asking me if I'd like to review some of their stuff. Unfortunately for me, I already got almost everything I wanted from them. But they are sending me a few things things to review that I was looking at but didn't get (video of that coming in a few weeks hopefully) Something I like about the Jowua ones is that they have a clever little lip for stashing umbrellas and such. Anyways, they've given me a discount code, so if you're interested in their ones my code is "EVEASY" or you can use this link (BTW, I do get a bit of commission on anything that is bought via the link, in the interests of full disclosure ☺️) www.jowua-life.com/EVEASY
Great review! 😊 Subscribed I’m in the service industry and park a lot on nature strips. Do you reckon an MY with 20” can get on top of a curb without scratching anything?
Thanks, as with most things it depends. I think the car is certainly higher than lower cars (Which I appreciate it kinda obvious. ☺️) I don't think it's very high though. I think if you came at the curbs from the side, it would be ok. But front on, I think you'd still catch the black plastic bits at the bottom. Of course your mileage may vary depending on the size of the curb.🤷🏻
Thanks for the review hopefully getting mine next month (so many delays) Question when you are in auto pilot can you remove your foot of the pedal and it will still drive?
Hi Rachel, yes you totally can remove your foot from the pedal. Though I recommend keeping it near by incase you need to take over at any time. So It's not like you then then sit cross legged when autopilot is on. 🤣
Thanks, these are the ones I got. I'm planning on doing a video about the accessories I've gotten in a few weeks time. tessories.com.au/product/model-y-3d-floor-mats/
olá Leonel and obrigada for the nice comment. I have the SR+ I think it what it is called in Europe. In Australia we can only get the SR+ and Performance models. And the Perfomance models aren't arriving til Nov or early next year I believe.
Hi Scott, it's a combination of two things I got from Amazon. Thankfully I haven't had a need to use it, so no idea if it's any good. Did you buy the Enhanced auto pilot or just run with the as configured base level? Looking to place an order and am slightly conflicted on this aspect. Thx
Hi Dave, I haven't bought Enhanced auto pilot. I'd like to, but I think my bank account needs some time to get over the shock of buying the car first. 🤣 I am also not sure how much I would use it. I've heard mixed reviews from people who I know who have it. To be frank, I think I want it mostly to show off to people with the Summon function. But not sure that $5100 AUD is worth the show off points. 😉
@@notacarguy_au good to know- sorry another question - are you happy with the cars power and ride quality, I have seen a lot of reviews that say it is somewhat firm. For reference I am looking to change over from a 2021 Audi Q3. I have a test drive booked in Richmond next Friday but just trying to gather as much info. Like you I predominantly drive around town ( Melbourne’s north east)
It's hard for me to say. As the name of the channel suggests, I am not a car guy. 🤣 So I would most certainly say that I don't have a very refined opinion. The ride feels very comfortable to me, but I was coming from a 2011 Kia Cerato coup. So am used to be much lower and I am guessing that means the old car was a bumpier ride?
I haven't done a definitive test on that. But it's been pretty good, I'd say maybe somewhere around 380km-400km. But that will depend on a lot of things. I plan on doing a video looking at the things that can effect range. So it could be if it's cold, if you have a tail wind or head wind. How much stuff you have in the car, so weight. Also how you drive. I am a pretty sedate driver, so I am happy to sit in the "slow lane" and if the car in front is doing 100k or 80k I will go with that. From what I've heard, you'll get much better range going at 80k and less range if you're doing 110k.
Great overview of the car. Refreshing to see a normal average person doing a car review. Subscribed 👍
Thanks. I'll try and keep that vibe. 😀

You did a great job introducing the Tesla! BTW, there is a verbal command for opening the glove compartment. Enjoyed...thank you!
Thanks for the tip Carl, and thanks for your kinds comment.
Interesting. Does that mean the verbal command over-rides the PIN (if you have it enabled) ?
Those seat controls have been in existence for literally 20 years.
Yes, but as I keep saying. "I am easily impressed". 😉
Also, not being a car person, all my cars in the past have been very basic, get me from A to B types. You know, cheap! 🤣
What a fantastic car ,this is definitely the future of how it will be for us all 😀
Thanks for your comment. I think it's a mix. For those of us who love being on the cutting edge of tech, totally the place to be. But I think also there still needs to be electric cars that look and feel like todays cars but just so happen to be electric. This will help folks who aren't really into tech to make the move the electric.
I think I got used to it after half an hour. I was awestruck honestly!
I think you're referencing one pedal driving? If that is what you mean, yes it is pretty good once you get used to it. ☺️
Hey Lee! Love your videos man! Your description, explanation, video angles, and overall editing are on point! So soooooo GOOD! I wish the youtube algorithm showed me your vids before i purchased my model Y, i would have used your referral code 100%. Keep up the good work my man! Brilliant 👏 👏
Thank you, that’s very kind of you to say and take the time to leave the comment. You can use my code when you get a second Tesla. 😂
Greeting from NY-USA. Nicely done, very entertaining & informative. Mine is arriving in the Nov-Dev '22 timeframe, replacement for my '21 (but that is another conversation). Best of luck and enjoyment, and yes, I will subscribe :-) BTW, getting the same color
Thanks Marvin
Good on ya short tubby nerd man! Laughed out loud at you relaxing in the frunk.
Glad you enjoyed it. ☺️
BTW, if you thought this was funny, go back and look at the previous video where I show what happened when I first tried to film this one on my own.
Engaging, entertaining, informative - look forward to more from your channel :)
Awesome, thank you! Very kind of you to say.
Thank you so much for the review I’m still waiting on my tesla y metallic interior black.
Thank you for you kind words. Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you get your car soon. We are still loving ours. ☺️
I really like your intro.... you are great dude. nice video..
Thank you.
Cool the hood closes like a 911 . Always have to tell people using your car not to slam it from high !
Funny you say that. I was just chatting to my wife the other day and we realised that often when driving around we think a Model 3 or Model Y is coming towards us and it turns out to be a Porsche. Not sure if other people have this, but it seems they looks similar to us from the front. 🤣
Hello from Brisbane. Love your style and videos, mate! Happy driving.
Hello back from Melbourne. ☺️ Thanks for the kind comments
Such a good review and very entertaining. Keep up the awesome work
Thank you.
Very in-depth well done 👍
Thanks Nathan
Really good light hearted review, enjoyed it. Im in the Uk and should get my Model Y in November fingers crossed !!
Thanks Phil, Hope you enjoy your Model Y as much as we are enjoying ours. I am a bit jealous of you UK folks as you have the option of the long range model. We only get the Standard and the Performance here and the P model isn't coming till next year I think.
Great overview Lee!
Thanks mate.
Love this car 🚗 just reviewed mine last week
That’s awesome. Glad you’re enjoying it. 😀
Great video. Love your humour.
Thanks so much!
How much extra stuff you have packed in the car, how much head wind or tail wind you have.
P.S. we will have to agree to disagree as to which side is the correct side for a steering wheel. 😜
Hey… pretty darn good for not being a car guy!! Keep it up!
Thanks Bill. Much appreciated. Be sure to share it far and wide. 😉
very well made video, great graphics and what a super lovable guy!
Thank you very much for the kind words. I am glad you enjoyed it. :)
Fav Tesla vid👌🏻
Thank you
Thanks for the review I enjoyed it very much simple and easy for a normal person.
Thank you very much for the kind words.
One pedal driving is amazing. Also safer as well, if you take your foot off the pedal for any reason, the car will quickly come to a stop. No idle rolling.
I am not 100% sold on it being safer, but I am really enjoying it.
Great reviewer in the world
That's very kind of you to say. Thank you. :)
Uh you are amazing. Subscribed.
Thank you so much. I appreciate the sub and hope I can keep you entertained.
Happily subscribed!!!
Thanks for subbing
The more and more videos i see like this, the less and less I am looking forward to mine....
Why is that?
Nice reveiw dude, can relate to the not a car guy approach.
Thanks. :)
Rolling though other videos.
Hope see you at Ryan Tesla meet up on26th November
Unfortunately I’m gonna miss the get together as I’ll be in New Zealand shooting content for a client. Hopefully can make it to the next one.
he's cool and great review. funny feller. Very specific.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. So glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully you enjoy some of my other videos. :)
Oh and as someone deeply entrenched in the Apple eco system, I'd be very keen to know how/if you use Apple Car play and just how you integrate your watch in all this.
Unfortunately Teslas don't support Carplay. I'm using an App called Tessie to have controls on my watch. Am planning to do a video about that.
Apple Watch does work though. You have to get a digital key from tesla to link the watch, but you can do many things to control the car with just your wrist
@@justinstewart3248 oh that is cool! Do you know if it's possible to link a Garmin watch as the key as well? Would be such a great solution for surfing...
@@bilgyno1 doubtful for a garmin watch
Entertaining and informative, thanx
Thanks for the kind comment. 😄
Great review. Thanks mate. Hope you enjoy your car
Thanks.

Thank you for the comment and the sub.
Hi Lee, great video - You just earned yourself a subscriber from Denmark as well...
Thank you very much. I hope I can keep you informed and entertained.
How come you look just like Bjorn Nyland (joke) ;-)
I did like it and i did subscribe and thanks for every efforts for us the customers.
Awesome overview mate!!!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. ☺️
Nice one mate ! I am considering MY atm.
Also where is Apollo bay trip video ? Sorry m new to your videos
Thanks, you know I don't think I ever actually ended up editing the Apollo Bay stuff. I shot some content, but never did anything with it. But if you're looking for something like a family road trip, I uploaded one to Adelaide a few weeks ago you can watch. ☺️
Very comical, love the review!
Thank you Joseph. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Love your humour.
Thank you. Will try to keep it up. 😀
Haha very funny and good review !
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Model Y is a beautiful car.
It is a very nice car.

Great content!! Love your presentation style. Test drove one on the weekend as was blown away. May I ask which watch app you use?
Thanks for your comment. For opening the boot from my watch, I am using the Tessie App.
This is the most engaging Model Y review I’ve watched and I also learned some new things. Thank you.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video and review of MY. What mats are you using on the car and can you please give us the link from where you purchased. Thanks.
I got the Tesorries ones, but I was also looking at the Jowua ones, but they were out of stock. Funny story, I got emailed about a week ago from Jowua asking me if I'd like to review some of their stuff. Unfortunately for me, I already got almost everything I wanted from them. But they are sending me a few things things to review that I was looking at but didn't get (video of that coming in a few weeks hopefully)
Something I like about the Jowua ones is that they have a clever little lip for stashing umbrellas and such.
Anyways, they've given me a discount code, so if you're interested in their ones my code is "EVEASY" or you can use this link (BTW, I do get a bit of commission on anything that is bought via the link, in the interests of full disclosure ☺️)

I’m in the service industry and park a lot on nature strips.
Thanks for the review hopefully getting mine next month (so many delays)
Question when you are in auto pilot can you remove your foot of the pedal and it will still drive?
Hi Rachel, yes you totally can remove your foot from the pedal. Though I recommend keeping it near by incase you need to take over at any time. So It's not like you then then sit cross legged when autopilot is on. 🤣
Nice review, I’ve got the same model on order. Where did you get the rubber floor mats? Tesla or Aliexpress? Thanks!
Thanks, these are the ones I got. I'm planning on doing a video about the accessories I've gotten in a few weeks time.

Hi, Nice video, already subscribe your channel. Witch version is your model Y?
Greetings from Portugal
olá Leonel and obrigada for the nice comment. I have the SR+ I think it what it is called in Europe. In Australia we can only get the SR+ and Performance models. And the Perfomance models aren't arriving til Nov or early next year I believe.
Hi, Thanks for the great video content. What type of tyre repair kit do you have for the Model Y, and where did you purchase it from?
Hi Scott, it's a combination of two things I got from Amazon. Thankfully I haven't had a need to use it, so no idea if it's any good. But here are the two things I got.
www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0B3RMKL4S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09Q5Y4947/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought a Ryobi One tyre pump from Bunnings. I keep it in one of the rear side pockets (with the battery removed). And I have the plugs on order from Amazon.
Press the stalk down 4 times
What does that do?
It's ok it's sage ... just a bit of fun
Love the review
Thank you very much for the kind words. Hope I can keep entertaining you.
Could you link the floor mats in your tesla? They look better than most I’ve seen online 😂
No worries, here you go. I've been very happy with them so far, will do a video about all the accessories we got. Though I want to do a few other videos first.
tessories.com.au/product/model-y-3d-floor-mats/
Sorry, I don't remember which ones those are. But they are very similar to the Jowua ones.
I am also not sure how much I would use it.
What app do you use on your Apple Watch?
Tessie. I plan on doing a video about it in the future. It has loads of other functions too.
how much is the range on highway drives?
@@notacarguy_au its the rwd version with the blade lfp battery right?
We don’t need no stinking badges!
I can't remember what movie that is from, but I quote that line often. 🤣
