The skeleton thing is interesting to me because, like most biology, it isn't as black and white as people make it out to be. I am a massage therapist and I have worked on multiple trans people. I remember working on a trans woman and commenting to her that her sacrum and pelvic structure felt very broad and flat (typically female characteristics) despite the fact that she was AMAB. So it would be likely that upon examining her skeleton, scientists probably would decide that she was AFAB.
What I especially don't get, is how they think that if you've been dead for over 900 years, you're going to care what people think about your skeleton..
Another thing is, a lot of the times really old skeletons get "gendered", it's based on what else was found in that grave. And even then there's a bunch of ambiguous skeletons in museums' basements, like you'll have a "female"-shaped skeleton that was found with "male" burial objects like spears, which goes against the telling that men went out to hunt while women stayed back and cared for the children and elderly, so let's put it in a box and never speak about it again.
"If attraction is all that it takes we're all bisexual" -- Guess that means that every virgin in the world is asexual. Kinda weird to think that you have to have a partner just to even be straight.
But then when you are a virgin and you're like "hey, I don't really want to have sex," they're like "no, no, you have to want to have sex. Sex is obligatory."
IDK if I'm ace or not but I have no interest in having a relationship or sex. But I consider myself to be demi and Omniromantic. History and experience does not denote anything like that.
Roly missed the part of the Noah story where God regretted making humans cause we're fuck-ups so he drown the planet (including babies - think of the children). The rainbow feels like a calling card for a serial killer, honestly.
And also the part where indigo is not some seventh color that makes sense as part of the spectrum in the same way red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet do, but just stuck in to make the number be 7, by Isaac Newton, who was a Christian, and totally aware of the significance of those two numbers to Christian numerology.
I remember in my nordic history course we talked a lot about a grave in Sweden. A person was buried there, whose DNA was that of a woman, but the circumstances in which they were buried where those of a male warrior. So of course we talked a lot about possibilities of the person being trans, gnc or anything inbetween. The burial gifts were of high value, which could mean, that the person was of high status inside the warrior troop. So regardless of their identity, the female born person probably has had a lot of respect. This is very interesting to me, because in the early middle ages in nordic texts, masculinity was defined as being ready to use violence to defend ones family from violence. (you know, the whole "protector" spiel).

"666" itself is not even a link to the devil, the number in aramaic it's translated from straight up means emperor Nero and was used as a cheeky way to speak ill of him in writing. Nero was not a very chill guy, but I guess that much is understood given that he managed to be so unpopular that he made himself a part of the concept of evil in the lore of one of the biggest world religions for thousands of years to the point where people that don't even know where the number comes from will avoid it out of superstition.
I studied archeology in college. The sex of skeletons is RARELY EVER determined by pelvis, its an incredibly unreliable determination, based on age, body type, etc. Skeletons were determined through burial practices. Such as (Just as example) men are buried with coins, and women were buried with silver, then obviously if they find a grave with silver, they'd assume it was a woman buried there. Trans people in history were buried with items for both genders, or their preferred gender, so to say "In 1k years they'll call you the wrong gender" is inaccurate.
Haha love Roly talking about the pen on Look and Read from the early 90s - up and round and down and swish! - teaching us letter formation and handwriting at primary school If you see this Roly, I remember it too so either it existed or we've both lost the plot 😂

the original 'rainbow' from the flood myth was an actual 'rain bow', as in the bow you use to shoot arrows. it was the god putting down his weapon promising he wouldn't shoot his arrows of water anymore, a truce.
Also, the whole 7 colour rainbow thing is because some dude literally made indigo it's own category because of some obsession he had with the number 7.
if i'm not wrong (too lazy to check), the Turquoise stripe got taken out of the original Pride flag before the Pink stripe. which means that, for a time, there were 7 stripes 😂
10:26 this is why I prefer the -misia/misic suffix over the phobia one, because misia literally means “hatred of” Even if they are afraid… they love to claim their bigotry “is not a fear” so at least the misia suffix can’t be dismissed in the same way. Also, using the misia suffix avoids the ableism of equating bigotry to a debilitating mental condition. Most phobias are mild, but for some people their phobia can cause such extreme anxiety and distress that it can severely negatively affect them to the point it can be truly disabling. So for the sake of intersectionality (and accuracy) I really wish we could update our language and use the misia/misic suffix more often, especially when referring to bigotry.
The rainbow christian thing is so much worse too. It isn't just God saying "Oh this is my promise not to murder all of humanity again." No. It's actually "This is my promise not to *drown* all of humanity again." As in "Oh yeah by the way, when I return, I'm going to kill everyone that doesn't follow me by burning them alive. By lighting the whole planet on fire. Didn't break my promise!" Yeah... I prefer the LGBT rainbow over the one I was raised with. Leave those childhood nightmares behind me, thanks.

On the topic of transphobia in women's sports... those jokes aren't just bad for women (both trans and cis, for the reasons you mentioned in the video), they're also horrible for cis men's self-worth. If any random man can half-ass his way into being as good as the best women in sports, where do non-athletic cis men fit into the hierarchy? They don't. So either they're failing their gender (which is a whole other awful mess of a concept), or toxic masculinity is lying to everybody.
I'm so annoyed about the skeleton point, cause they forget we have social indicators that can make it clear you were trans, even if they find your remains. Yet again, transphobes knowing just enough to make a stupid point.
It also conveniently misses out the part where sexing skeletons is very much an imperfect science. The people who do it often resort to accompanying artefacts to guide their judgement.

Newton literally decided that the number of colours in the rainbow should be 7, because that's one of God's faves. The actual number of colours is... (drumroll) infinite? Well, certainly very big (billions), I dunno if wavelengths are a quantized property or not.
I can remeber watching a documentary about when archaeologist find graves and remains, they look at the items that the person is buried with to help determine gender and there have been many instances of possible early transgender people based on their skeletal alignments and the items they possessed and were buries with.
20:01 Archaeologists generally estimate based off of what's around them (scraps of the clothes they were buried in, gravestone, any items of significance such as an axe, hoe, pocket watch, money, etc) and use the pelvic bone and such as a last resort for an estimate. We do not have strong sexual dimorphism in our skeleton. Male and female skeletons can look incredibly similar. If you're buried with your chosen name and it's kept clean and nice enough to be read, theyll infer youre the gender your name would show.
Honestly, in 1000 years, they will dig Jammi up and be like "at first appearance, this skeleton might look female, but it's actually one of the first generation of trans men, who fought for the lives of trans people today! How fascinating!"
I agree with Roly about working in Retail, I wasn't recently dismissed from working at Morrisons. I was there during COVID-19, it was good at first but it got worse about 1 and half years later. I felt like I was working in hell especially as I was on home delivery picking people's orders. It gave me bad anxiety especially being autistic as well as being a trans male. I had a lot going on in my head. I am finally free of that place and am getting help from a councillor to dead with my problems. I should have left sooner as it was mentally draining. I am now in a much better place and looking to find somewhere that would be better for me to work at that is disability friendly. Also to mention I didn't like being bothered when I had to keep to a time limit when picking orders. Also great video.
As a Christian, homophobia and transphobia STILL makes _no_ sense to me. Being gay/trans is against the bible? Sure. But tell me where it says to actively condemn those people - In fact, there are two well-known verses that say the opposite. The first, of course, is “Love your neighbor.” The second? “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” Before you start shouting about these people calling them sinful agents of the devil, think about the fact that treating these people horribly is breaking one of the commandments. If God decides that these things are a sin, He will choose when to deal with it. It’s His job to decide who goes to hell, _not yours._ Stop acting like you know better than _literal God._
And also, wasn't the "man with another man" verse they used intentionally mistranslated? Like, wasn't it originally "man with boy"?(ie, against pedophilia)

I have no problem with my sexuality but being gay and disabled is a double edged sword! In my old city, twenty odd years ago, I would have been murdered because being Gay is a non entity and I would have been locked up in a psychiatric facility. Totally right! It's really not easy to sex a skeleton at all, especially without dna. And many have been found to be intersex off dna without the skeletal morphology indicating that

With the "dig up your bones in a 1000 years" argument that transphobes make: an important thing to remember is that an archeologists job after finding bones, is to determine context. "what was their life like in the context of what we know about their society" meaning that an archeologist would find my bones and likely be able to determine I was a trans woman. They'd be all "she probably died of boredom from hearing the same stale talking points, as they were hyper saturated in the 2020's" then they'd put my hot ass bones in the museum.

And the "7 colors" rainbow is also arbitrary -- it's an optical spectrum, so there aren't any divisions into colors. Choosing 7 was done specifically for Christian numerological reasons -- so "there are 7 colors, therefore the Christian god is all-powerful" (which is actually a popular position among certain denominations) is extra-ridiculous. (Also, the image shown in this video had the colors in the order you'd see for the second rainbow in a double rainbow, not a single one.)

The thing about the archaeology thing is that yeah for one its not easy to tell the sex of the skeleton they find, they usually go by context clues like how it was buried to determine if it was a man or a woman... but the thing is sometimes these skeletons are tested later...and it turns out the skeleton they identified as male because it was buried like a man would in that culture was biologically a woman... or vise versa. So yes, archaeology has found proof of trans skeletons... Of course with modern day burials there are less context clues as most people are buried the same way regardless of sex, the best way to tell if the gravestone somehow survived unharmed... But chances are archaeologists in the future will be aware of trans people existing unless somehow the conservatives manages to completely erase all mentions of them in history...

Trans people in history were buried with items for both genders, or their preferred gender, so to say "In 1k years they'll call you the wrong gender" is inaccurate.

the original 'rainbow' from the flood myth was an actual 'rain bow', as in the bow you use to shoot arrows. it was the god putting down his weapon promising he wouldn't shoot his arrows of water anymore, a truce.
this is my first time seeing you crossover with roly, and im already enjoying it! hoping to see more content with them!
10:26 this is why I prefer the -misia/misic suffix over the phobia one, because misia literally means “hatred of”
Even if they are afraid… they love to claim their bigotry “is not a fear” so at least the misia suffix can’t be dismissed in the same way.

The highschool I went to literally had a Devil as our mascot LOL
Mine too! We were the red devils. Lol
20:31 you should live miserably because someday someone might look at your skeleton and not know you who you were as a person just what your bones look like.

The actual number of colours is... (drumroll)
infinite?
Well, certainly very big (billions), I dunno if wavelengths are a quantized property or not.
I can remeber watching a documentary about when archaeologist find graves and remains, they look at the items that the person is buried with to help determine gender and there have been many instances of possible early transgender people based on their skeletal alignments and the items they possessed and were buries with.
fun fact: ive met the trans woman in the first meme she swims with my older sister at penn state
her name is lia thomas
22:15 the habsburgs were so inbred that the child of two cousins was more incestuos than if the parents had been siblings.

With the "dig up your bones in a 1000 years" argument that transphobes make: an important thing to remember is that an archeologists job after finding bones, is to determine context. As for my skeleton, viking skeletons have been misgendered by archaeologists for ages. Some of those warriors were female.
I just wonder what kind of 'own' the bigots think it is about the skeleton thing anyway. I'd love someone to respond with "Well, what do you want them to do about it? Come back as a ghost and haunt your asses?"
