Ahh, dude. This is so much better than the actual video. The video is chill, the annoying announcers are gone, the talking is gone, the commercials are gone, and lastly, just all skate footage.
I feel the SLS format changed because of Malto. Malto figured out the system and it use to be based on consistency and Malto had it. Wasn’t the most fashionable champion, but he did what he needed to do He did above average tricks every go and then they wanted to change it up and take away the line section and consistency section because that’s where his points were racking up.
@fossegrim91 That's your point of view. he obviously deserved to win if he won. He put so many tricks down that hand rail. The bigger you go the more points you get. The cleaner you land the more points you get. In my opinion he definitely deserved to win it ;) He really isn't boring to watch either watch "best of sean malto 2011" makes me get off my computer and go skate every time
@sk8rtoymachine Yeah diversity is good, but a competition for that much money, malto cannot afford to bail trying a hard trick. The more points he racks up with every trick he lands, the closer he is to a higher score. Hes already won what? 2 street leagues? Hes got a good strategy going i say.
I don't get why sean malto has pretty dope video parts but when it comes to comp skating he throws the lamest bag of tricks and scores high. I don't care how good he is, it looks fixed when you have someone throwing the same 2 tricks on every obstacle.
Nah, the reason that the best skater never wins is that the judges are idiots. Not usually legitimate skaters so they dont understand the actual significance of tricks. Plus, they always think the youngest skater is the best which is totally untrue.
@starscottpwn I never said Sean Maltos tricks were necessarily "easy". I said they are a lot easier then what the other guys are trying. It's all good though, because in a contest like this it works when the other guys are bailing the "harder" stuff.
@iGetsLucky Agreed.Malto played it very safe in his wins..although i know playing it safe is his tactic, but why didn't all the scores from all the contests be counted lol, makes no sense.Huston was killing it,so was Chris cole.
@omarizawsom you don't see anyone doing ANY of chris coles tricks! oh well, this competition is about being consistent with decent to hard tricks and malto did just that
@HIM666dark6light exactly ! Chris cole deserved it more than Malto ! lol and that's saying a lot from me because i LOVE malto. I can't wait for the next one!
Malto played it safe and won? Thats soooo DUMB. Nyjah deserved it WAY more. It should be ALL the contests scores at the end not just ONE contest.. come on rob
You're right. He has absolutely no right to have an opinion about a pro skater as a spectator watching him in a contest. How dare someone give their opinion. -__- He's actually got a point though. Malto is by far the most boring to watch on SL. At least in my, and many others opinions. You may like him and thats fine. But it is a little annoying seeing people like Prod doing switch back lips down hubbas and lose to a guy that does a nollie 5-0 and other tricks that aren't as hard the other guys.
I.M.O mikey and malto skate the same... very safe. good looking, but not technical or very difficult. the thing that has everyone pissed off is that malto won on playing safe. he did not have one difficult trick in the big section. for example.. maltos best trick, imo, backside overcrook, doesn't even touch a switch big heel.. even with a hand touch. judges were off their game. if it's the safer the better.. i COULD be a pro skater.
that shit isn't exactly easily, front crooks and back overcooks are dope as shit and he just so happens to be consistent at that too. nose grind nollie flip, there are a bunch of things he did that are hard as fuck to do all back to back. there is a reason he won. nollie into grind, especially down something that big, frontside and backside back to back like that, he totally deserved to win. Its like the people that lost were happy for him and here you are bashing him and justifying his victory
SLS isn't always about the tricks. Tricks are maybe 40% of the contest, consistency is a majority of it. That explains Malto's win here and at Ontario that first year. People will always continue to say he's wack, but he's the one with the money and the SLS championship ring. X-Games? A good skater is consistent, not just who does the best trick. Might as well just be a best trick contest like they have everywhere else. This is WAY more exciting.
Nyjah should have been the overall winner. The whole system was janked. I'm happy for Malto, but he should have only won this "stop." It's a shame that Nyjah had to settle for second after being the points leader. Malto does play it safe, but most of his tricks are above average. Nollie into anything is a little more difficult than a regular (which a lot of the skaters do.) It's working for him. It's about strategy, not necessarily just banging hammers. You get judged on EVERY go.
Malto's conservative strategy paid off in the end. Tough break for Nyjah. Had had he made one of the few bails he had, he would have won. At least he went out strong with 2nd place. Congrats to Malto, though. I'm glad to see he won with the comeback story. Although I will say that the format sucked. Nyjah got screwed because he really was the total points leader and Malto really deserved to win what should be "Stop 4." Congrats to both of them, though.
A nollie Crooked grind is harder then a switch board slide and notice in most of the contest Prod lands 3 of his 7 bangers and only get 8.0 on each where malto lands 7 out of 7 mid range tricks and getss 6.5 on each of course he will win its a strategy event not like x-games where u need to let it rip.
Why is everybody talkin crap bout Malto? His tricks are still very hard, very clean, and very consistant he does them all like first try and people think they aren't hard because there's no flips or anything but really they're very hard, Chris Cole and P Rod are my favs but Malto deserves it alot more ahah just saying.
people that are saying that Sean Malto shouldn't have won don't know what they are talking about. street league is all about how consistent you are, since you are scored on every trick you do. for that reason Sean Malto was the clear winner. if it were a best trick contest or something similar, then you would have a point!
I agree. Sean Malto shouldn't have won this one (although I like his clean style)... I believe this contest was held in Sean's hometown (Kansas City). Due to that, the judges showed a bit of uneccessary bias. Chris Cole and P-Rod were literally re-defining the culture as usual...and these dumbass judges had no clue.
@fossegrim91 How can you say one is overrated just by street league? i'm from Kansas City his hometown, and i have seen him skate multiple times in person. his level of skateboarding is insane. watch some of his videos before you say he is overrated. He deserves to be one of the biggest names in skateboarding
@omarizawsom exactly, people complaining about maltos tricks hardly know anything about skateobarding. The tricks he did might not have been switch flip bs noseblunt but fuckin nollie nosegrind on a hubba THAT big is fucking hard and thats pretty much one of the easiest tricks he did
Chris Cole would have won it if he landed 2:53. Sean Malto won it because of his consistency, he didnt miss a trick after the first section so i think he deserves it i mean if i could over crook all that stuff with all that pressure that would be awesome so well done SEAN MALTO CONGRATS!!!
All others guys do sick tricks, but who win? the skater who do only "basic" tricks and dont do nothing plus than this : croockeds, manual/nose manual, 5-O and nose grinds. Chris cole, Chaz ortiz and Nyjah deserve this championship
It's actually not safe at all, landing all those tricks on a row is unreal, the nose grind nollie flip out was awesome and I'm 100% sure none of you could land all of those tricks so consistently... pros make it look easy
dont get me wrong i love nyjah but it gets really boreing seeing him being the only one wininng street leauge only doing the same trick as he alway's does i just think he needs to switch it up or somthin :p
i believe that u misunderstood i think that he ment no harsh feelings to malto but rather stating his opinion in hopes that malto will stop playing it safe. furhtermore i agree with him and think malto should go hard or go home
i think what they mean is: sean malto is a great skater, but he doesn't do spectacular tricks, the others are trying in the contest. He does safe tricks and the judges give him a good score.
The scoring is messed up.. It should be like in x-games, the two best scores or as they have more tries here the best 3 scores from each section. Cause Cole made him look like a newbie, yet he won.
Do P-Rod and Ryan always dress the same as each other? When ever they're in a video together, They're always wearing the same general outfit. In this case, red shirts, Beige pants. and black shoes..
malto one cause he landed the most tricks and had the most consitancy and style and if you dident notice a couple of those lines were switch you guy obviously dont know how they judge these things
i think p rod needs to make a comeback cuz he is like slacking although skating is just for the fun of it i just think he should make a new part for plan b ( nothing against him tho he is a legand)
oh yeh, i dont have ollies, just kickflips heelflips tre flips shuvits almost switch kickflips, fronstside flips. have way done with my sponsor video but yeh you know your right
chris cole deserved to win. to be honest I think most of the pros could've done the half dozen variations of a nose grind/crooked grind that malto did the whole time to win it....
Sean Malto landed so many tricks and he landed them very clean and he deserved to win. But Chaz Ortiz and Chris Cole had WAY more impressive tricks under their belt.
Malto and Shane O'Neil are the kings of tech and steeze, Sheckler is the shit when it comes to going big, and Chris Cole and Nyjah Huston are fucking legends.
malto won becouse he was doing safe tricks he landed everything and he scored more points than those who were trying big tricks and weren't landing anything.
Malto didn't fall once that's why he won. He never landed anything sketchy, yeah he did take the easy route, but at the same time thats just being smart.
Ahh, dude. This is so much better than the actual video. The video is chill, the annoying announcers are gone, the talking is gone, the commercials are gone, and lastly, just all skate footage.
270 boardslide 270 out...wtf
Chris cole deserved to win
malto landed every single try in the big section. respect Bro!!!
The second song is Rock And Roll Part 2 - Gary Glitter
malto is the king of nose grinds and k grinds
did u notice nyjah never gave malto a hug at the end? he was supperr jelouss
YES!!
ESTA BIEN PADRE SALUDOS A TODOS;D
Whenever I watch this, I feel like I can do all these tricks but in reality, I really can't
thumbs up for Ryan Shecklar.
Hey!... It's shecklEr!
malto stop it with the nosegrinds
He does nosegrinds because he wants/likes that, not the company's or fans. he skates for fun not for money.
I feel the SLS format changed because of Malto. Malto figured out the system and it use to be based on consistency and Malto had it. Wasn’t the most fashionable champion, but he did what he needed to do He did above average tricks every go and then they wanted to change it up and take away the line section and consistency section because that’s where his points were racking up.
probably because prod bailed half his tries just to land the trick
Almost nine years posted this video and the fisrt song is Real estate - Old folks
funny that malto's "safe route" is composed of tricks you could only dream of doing
"Ryan Shecklar"? Have I been spelling it wrong all those years. Sheckler/Shecklar?
i dont know why they gavev it to malto, cole should have won, or maybe nyjah didnt congragulate him because nyjah spanked that ass and got ripped off.
After all these years no one knows what’s the first song called yet lol
did you ever figure it out
@fossegrim91 That's your point of view. he obviously deserved to win if he won. He put so many tricks down that hand rail. The bigger you go the more points you get. The cleaner you land the more points you get. In my opinion he definitely deserved to win it ;) He really isn't boring to watch either watch "best of sean malto 2011" makes me get off my computer and go skate every time
first song please :( ??
wow dude killed it at the end.. consistency was the key for the win.. amazing
He was 10 points ahead of everyone and took the biggest reward. Period.
I wish they would not allow nyjah in the next contest, Im tired of seeing him win.
Wtf your the rainbow nigga
I was rooting for Cole and I really wanted him to win, but Sean has such a solid style and he deserves that win.

@sodamon I know.... -_____-
Check the spelling of Sheckler in the video and you see why i commented ''Shecklar'' trololololol.
Malto won because hes consistent, And for those of you who said he did nothing, try doing the same tricks in the same obstacles.

What’s the name of the first song goddamitt someone lend me a fucking hand here
Sean Malto landed so many tricks and he landed them very clean and he deserved to win. But Chaz Ortiz and Chris Cole had WAY more impressive tricks under their belt.

@933ian cole aalmost landed the helicopter flip at the end, he would have won if he managed to do so
I agree he seems like a pretty boy here, he didn't have much variety compared to everyone else. Maybe everyone else bailed more.. this is highlights.
Malto didn't fall once that's why he won. He never landed anything sketchy, yeah he did take the easy route, but at the same time thats just being smart.
But they get judged on how clean each of the tricks are landed and how smooth their runs are and not so much the difficulty of what they re doing.
EVERY ONE NEEDS TO CHILL everyone just wanted to have fun, and malto was just doing dat. he won cus he did the tricks that give him the most fun.
tf is this! i mean malto is kool and all but chris's b360 nose grab was enough too beat sean ha not to mention his back 360 boardslide yo
I would play it safe when there's fucking 250k on the line.. think about it.. it,s called being strategic and it works fucking well for him
@MyLifeRSC
but malto does decent scoring tricks 100% of the time when cole does harder tricks but doesnt always have that consistency.
@zerosk8er29 i didnt like the song so i muted the video and representing skateboarding in it cuz its a skateboard video...duhhhh! lol
Malto is a beast he deserved it more then anyone. But seriously where the hell is Luan he could definitely win if he really tried.
fuck, prod skates switch too much!! damn good at it, the best actually but cmon save some for the rest of the comp
skate for fun!no haters!
Only thing I see Malto do is kill his front truck every copetition. DO SOME FLIP TRICKS
im glade they changed the format this year so basic ass malto cant get away with winning anymore. Dydrek knows......
If you watched it, you would know why Malto won. Even though Cole did better tricks.
what I don't care if you land 28 tricks in a row chris cole had that he hit way harder tricks than malto did!!
@rapedbypigs69 Ya both of you are right. I guess those are chest high ledges and thats a pretty legit hand rail.
@BongHitsMe420 but you couldn't do anything he did up there so stop complaining .
this sport is a such an art. I love watching it because I know I will never be able to do what these guys do
El weon q iso este video no sabe q en el segundo 10 escribio RYAN SHECKLAR siendo qe es RYAN SHECKLER!
