I'm aware that you can use the Meteorite Staff and Rock Sling in the same position and have success. However, unless you're going for some type of magic build, those two items are usually never touched afterward and there's nothing else that's universally beneficial from visiting their pickup area. Meanwhile, with Holy Water Pots: you already took the trip to Weeping Peninsula where you get various Flask upgrades that benefit all builds (don't be an annoying naysayer and mention challenge runs, that's not this video's target audience), and you can now craft Holy Water Pots, of course, which do incredible damage against Those Who Live in Death, even against endgame-scaled Death Birds. As for getting the Intelligence and Dexterity tears, I address that in the video. Remember: the quickest routes are not always the most optimized.

This is actually really handy. A lot faster time to kill Greyoll than with Morning Stars + Bleed Grease. Even if I dont cheese farm Greyoll grabbing the poker early is easy enough to add onto my early game prep route anyway. Thanks for this! And thanks for not being cheesy goofy THE BEST RUNE FARM?!?! YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS VIDEO RIGHT NOW!

It's a solid weapon, even without being an INT build. I doubt this method will get patched so lucky us lol

I don't think a greyoll runefarm is a good thing to go for since it really is way too many runes for a real run. Because at that point, whats the difference between this, and cheating them in? there is something to be said for doing something and optimzing it, just for proof of concept for fun, and this was great. Also yeah the clickbait videos are really annoying. I also didn't watch the whole video, is there a reason fires deadly sin isnt used? was it just because it was too far out of the way for the time frame?

Many players have this game on consoles where cheating items in is not as simple as PC. Then there's people who could cheat them in, but would still rather get it from the gameplay. Then there's people like me who are either in the mood for cheats or not lol.
Fire's Deadly Sin isn't useful against Greyoll, unless you meant Bloodflame Blade, which I like to have as an option for any build I go for, but for the sake of accounting for those who don't want 10 Arcane, I went with the Blood Grease route instead. It's definitely on the way and worthwhile to have otherwise, though. I pick it up even on my Godskin Peeler route.

@@MaestroVirgoreo I meant fires deadly sin for frost resetting greyoll. Seems like it would halve the time in killing her

If you've ever put hundreds, even thousands of hours into a game that you absolutely love, then sooner or later the realization dawns upon you that the actual 'fun' is locked behind something arbitrary that changes from person to person.
People who like RL1 runs, those who want to be as overpowered as possible, those who simply don't have the time to invest time to another 100% completionist playthrough and so on and on.
I'm one of those people who plays games for the PROGRESS my character makes, and not the endgame. I like being powerful sure, but once I hit the limit where I can safely take on everything without many risks, the fun is over for me - I like to spend my time progressing, advancing, and triumphing over challenges due to skill, and not by proxy of being the most powerful I can ever be.
On my first ever playthrough (where I've spent 283 hours in NG just doing absolutely everything) I finally got tired of not being able to do just whatever I please, so I decided to go offline, get the TGA CE table, and just absolutely shower myself with levels, weapons and all the armor sets I missed out on.. it was blissful at first, I tried out so many new weapons, tried some Elden Bling, cheesed bosses that took multiple attempts and then it just hit me.. I am not really having any fun, because what is there to do if you already have everything?
I was known in my DS2 days as a reverse-twink, I suffered through the entire game and dlc's while maintaining a less than 100k soul memory (no leveling, purchasing or whatnot after that point) just so I could build a powerful low level character that I used to help new players, melt everything in no-man's wharf and to distract/hunt down invaders for the host.
That character never really stopped developing despite its low level and equipment, but if I just gave myself everything right away.. what would be the point of playing, other than the player interaction?
Same goes for Elden Ring in this fashion, you COULD cheat in souls, levels, edit your character in CE, or just be "safe" and spawn in the Sacred Relic Sword and do the farming yourself over at Mohg's crib.. but then what, suddenly having everything at your disposal takes away all their value you imposed on them, and will make it hard to motivate yourself to even care about it all.
Videos like this where people showcase an optimized way of farming is for all those people who LOVE the game, but wouldn't want to go through either the slow start, or ruin their enjoyment because they just farmed albinaurics for an hour straight and now suddenly they have more than they need, and suddenly invalidated 3/4ths of the game for themselves.
Think about it like this, if you could give yourself every weapon at max upgrade level, every talisman and consumables like cracked pots and perfume bottles.. what would be your incentive to go exploring and dungeon crawling? Whatever you find at the end of one, would be either far below of what you already have, or the exact same thing you already own..
These farms help you set your own pace of character progression without invalidating your character while also preserving your own time so you have more left to do other things while not being too brain-dead to bore you out of your skull. This is quite literally the best of both worlds, except for those people who be like "umm you could just cheat everything in at that point, so why bother farming". There is a reason why so many prominent PvP youtubers use CE to jumpstart their character, they don't care about progress or actually working toward another build once again if it takes 15-25 hours on average, all they want is to make content, and for that they will need optimized and polished characters in certain level ranges at certain upgrade levels with every grace & summoning pool & colosseum unlocked so they can jump right in.
There is always a group of people that a certain technique or method applies to, and just because it doesn't apply to every single one of them, it doesn't invalidate them in the first place.
I know this might have been a long ass explanation, but my developer side comes out during these lmao, players often dont realize how they can ruin the game for themselves, and it is our job to make sure they are staying within certain limits to indirectly improve their time while playing. This video & guide is simply good for the right reasons, and it is very welcome, even 2 years after the game came out.. people might and probably would like to make new characters for the DLC and cut down on the leveling aspect of the game, without invalidating the fun for themselves.. would you start the DLC with every single weapon and talisman unlocked at RL713 if you know that at point the DLC really doesnt have anything new to show you other than the bosses?

Nah, getting that incantation is so out of the way that the time spent would be fruitless compared to just getting the torch.

@@Freelancer.Warzone Thank you for your input. This is the same mentality I have anytime I try a new mod or updates for mods; Convergence has been the only one that's done a fair job throughout. Options, options and more options are what make a game great to me; if it's too easy, make it harder, and if it's too hard, make it easier. A game that restricts these conveniences isn't fun to me. Creating these quick-start routes is what helps me restart the game in less tedious and more interesting ways, because yep, after having everything, sometimes I'll go back to my completionist NG+7 save, but most times, I want a new journey, and after two years, there's still things to share that weren't captured even a year ago, especially with patch updates since then rendering some tactics obsolete.
