Ganz nett, die alten Sachen hier wieder zu hören. Früher war ich mal ein großer Düül-Fan gewesen, und das Video hier erinnert mich an meinen ersten Konzertbesuch bei dieser Band im Jahre 1969, Theater der Jugend, Reitmorstraße in München. Statt herkömmlicher Scheinwerfertechnik wurden damals Filmprojektoren eingesetzt, mit denen die Musiker durch psychedelische Farbverläufe beleuchtet wurden. Und zwischen den einzelnen Musikbeiträgen wurde dann auch avantgardistische Lyrik rezitiert. Na ja, etwas snoby war das Ganze schon, aber eben auch schöne Erinnerung.
Amon Düül 2 are a monument, no doubt about that. What they did for rock music in Teutonia is inestimable and will never be fully appreciated.They simply command respect. They are best at their game when they let it flow in free-form style.
