So true. During Geography classes we had to search places in pairs, and my classmate always went to the back of the atlas and I naturally got tingles because of the sound and the relaxing feeling it gave me. Since there are kiwi-surgeries on UA-cam, I decided I'd see if someone made a video on it. Here I am, thinking I was alone.

Page turning of thick pages in a quality book like this one is extremely ASMR and it gives fantastic tingles. The thicker the pages the better nicer tingles 😀. I recall some time back 15 or 17 years or so i was visiting my great auntie and uncle, my mums auntie and uncle. They had been on a cruise holiday in Europe on the river, I can't remember the river name but it looked gorgeous. My uncle was showing me the pics they had taken in there album. As i sat beside my uncle on the sofa and he turned each page slowly and described each pic of where it was, I was getting this wonderful feeling which I now know is ASMR. My auntie and uncle had loads of photo album's and arranged the pics beautifully, labelling each pic. I always loved looking at there photos from around the late 1940s when they was about 24.

Didn't know what ASMR was until a minute ago, but now that I know, I must say that this has ALWAYS been one for me! I love the sound of any turning pages, but mostly a little on the quicker side- like flipping through a magazine. It puts me in pure euphoria, never known why.

Why does everyone on YT that does a page-turning ASMR video insist on squeaking the paper between their fingers on every page turn? Everyone seems to do it. IMO it ruins the otherwise soft effect.

Kip Landingham I agree, my personal preference is in the “flopping” of the pages which I don’t hear at all. Just squeak and slide. Perhaps the video needs to incorporate these varying techniques at different times 😏

I wanted to love it, but sadly, the squeezing snaps me out of it.
It seems that everyone has moved to squeezing, esp glossy books; whereas there used to be more artists that gently flipped & slid their fingers across the page while tracing or pointing out things (some would also either do 2 takes, w/ & w/o,& some alternate b/w them).
But I dont see it much, unless they add finger licking - which, similar to squeezing, feels inorganic/forced, & thus, disruptive to the gentle flow (& worse, when overdone -usu by newer or vry young artists, it gets unpleasant).
I apologize if this is upsetting in any way; however, I'm really just trying to describe a diff in preference similar to music. There may be certain genres i dislike, yet talent is talent, & that can be appreciated by all listeners… as i found everything else very graceful & soothing.
Otherwise, there'd be no reason to comment, as I could just listen to others.
Something else that I think affects me is my med disorder: #hEDS/#EDS, but specifically 1 of the many associated conditions - #Dysautonomia (aka autonomic-dysfunction, or ur Sympathetic Nervous Sys) which similar to panic, anxiety & excitement, causes my body to remain in an overstimulated state, so I'm sensitive to light, smells, taste, temps, & yup, sounds… Add that to childhood PTSD &, well, my senses are turned up to 11, 24/7.
So I promise, I really do like every other aspect of the video, & am only commenting (w/ a lotta TMI) just in case you ever have the time & desire to do some w/o squeezing (or lip smacking page turning).
Take care & I wish you the best on ur channel.
