Fishermen on the boat ramp dock. Especially when it’s posted No Fishing From Boat Ramp Dock. Rods and lines right across the ramp lanes at the end of the dock.
I think some patience for people goes a long way at the dock. Just the other day my mom came out with us and has to be really careful getting in the boat so it takes a minute of being strapped to the small dock at our lake. This guy pulls up and pulls a few inches from the front of my boat instead of waiting 60 seconds for us to move. We also have 2 girls (2 and 5). So sometimes to get them safe it takes a minute. BE PATIENT!!
me. 15' boat drifting at 0.7 knots with a radar reflector him 60ft sunseeker coming by 40ft of my bow in open seas at goodness knows what speed. he put out a wake 6-7ft high. water over the top of my bow. lucky not to capsize!!!!! be aware of your wake at all times people
I have never owned a boat but I have rarely had an occasion to pilot one. Maybe it's just I'm a big believer in Murphy's Law. But I've always done my best to stay away from other craft whether or not I was towing a skier or a tube or not. On one occassion I was just off the shore staying out of the way of faster or larger craft. I did end up dealing with really big wakes of MUCH larger boats that were well past but the craft I was piloting the bow would rise up on a swell then the bone jarring smack as it would come down in the trough. One question. I've always gone with the main traffic pattern on a small lake. But it seems even on much larger lakes the basic traffic pattern is slower boats sticking closer to the shore travel counterclockwise around the lake. Why is this?
Speaking of jet skis : I owned a cottage once and was on my holidays. Another cottager up the lake allowed his kids to her ski in front of my cottage every night for the full two weeks and destroyed every peaceful sunset I could have had on vacation. Sucked. Move to different locations and quit pissing everyone off in the same spot night after night.
This is no set rule, but a boater that is on the wrong side of the lake,, I’ve been boating most of my adult life, and it’s just common knowledge to me that the starboard side of your boat should be on the right side of the lake when cruising, just like you would be on the road,
In many cases jet skiers can be very handy to save lives. While they might be assholes to boaters, they're typically not asshole people controlling them, maybe uninformed or ill knowledged. But they'd in many cases be the first ones to pull up to save someone in need as well.
Jet skis when I'm fishing and big wakes when I'm canoeing

You pretty well covered them.... the boat ramp is #1.... boaters are the nicest people on earth as long as others are safe and courteous.

agreed on this. I take it as use common road rules, but not everyone feels this way apparently
Jet skiers have a bad Habit of GETTING IN FRONT OF ME AND STOPPING. Literally asking to die
@@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon yeah let them know that. I avoid them like the plague but they keep weaving infront of me
I don’t have a boat at the moment, and this video reminds me why I don’t want one now
Jet skiers in general can sink as far as I'm concerned.
Rare is a jet skier not a douchebag.
I've got a video for you to see.
I'll post a link when I find it.
