I am from Kolkata, 75 years old and when I went for business tour to South India in 1967, was supposed to find that in Cities including Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai I got pure vegetarian hotels not only for food but also for staying !
It was a pleasant surprise to me as I did not know of this unique feature in South India 🇮🇳 !

I have been a regular eater here. Super food. V homely. Easy digesting.. even aged can eat blindly bcos of the quality.. the chutney is awesome. All staff serving are with smile. They dont show hate when they serve.. owner is awesome.
That's absolutely right. Easily digestible good quality homely food...felt hungry again after 4 hours...so light...the owner is a humble and down to earth person

Ek number i liked the food here. Simple homemade style. I come from kurla to chembur to eat here. 90rs thali enough for big stomach. No soda, not oily, can eat everyday this thali.

Wah ! 100 out of 100 marks for the noble thoughts of the owner ! Otherwise nowadays when we see around the restaurant owner is least bothered about the stomach of the diner as long as his pockets are full ! One may or may not like satvik simple food but Mr. Shetty has golden heart n high ethics for his business ! If one goes by the diners's response...Mr. Shetty is definitely on right track !

Alkaji can you make some videos for Gurugram on South Indian food.I am missing my favourite authentic south Indian food.
I would love to do that but can make it only during my next trip there. There's a nutri kulchawala at Gurugram Sec 56 Huda Mkt and there's a vendor besides him who prepares yummy dosas if you want to have Street food. Otherwise Naivedyam if you prefer fine dine restaurant.
Can serve you in Gurugram.... But would love to have you over whenever you're in Mumbai.

I was eating regular in this hotel in 1986 to 1989, i was staying in chembur. Really food was delicious particularly sambar & rasan

In older time, prices in South India used to be unbelievable ! I took my family in 1975 to Kodaikanal and was driving from Chennai via Tiruchirapalli !
Had lunch at a very decent vegetarian hotel and remember price for full meal @ Rs 6 per head ! My children were very young and requested the restaurant to allow two children to eat together to avoid waste ! He did not agree and insisted that everyone must eat separately ! I suggested I will pay for two but to avoid waste, let the children eat together ! He did not agree as per his policy !

For ordering food without spice for patients, usually there are small caterers available near the hospital. Pls chk with the hospital itself. They might be able to help. I will also try to find out.
