I dont understand why embee wasnt going light cav or Champions to counter the skirms. His whole army was countered by just skirms
I am reminded a little of the game between TaToH and ACCM at Hidden Cup. When wood is sufficiently scarce, hussars can be more efficient than halberdiers.
Yeah, it's good to keep in the back in the mind. On map with no/scarse wood halabardier costs 265 "potential food" so you get 3 hussars for cost of 1 halbardier. This is very complicated as this halbardier is easy to create "right now" and those 3 "hypothetical hussars" will take long time to harvest from farm, but on the other hand once one side runs out of wood completely - they will not even be able to switch/make hussars and the side that was preserving wood will be able to keep pumping them.
So it's out-do (enemy) or bust for the halb player.
Maybe if MBL switched to light-cav line himself he would be better off. He would be able to engage skirms much better when he had his "ups" (and there was quite many moments when he was "up" , but I don't know.

I like it too but it's one-sided. Britons are maybe Saracens worst matchup.

Those are the kind of matchups I struggle the most with, if my own civ doesnt have a power unit which can deal with the best unit of my enemy. Relying on trash units and some creative strategies is so cool to see here, thats why viper is still the adaptation god!

Asuming enemy units bug out at the pyramid is meta on this map.
MbL was definitely losing anyway, though I think they may remove the monument for the main event just in case.

How can you not go water with Saracens when they have bonus for Galleys?
Even Britons light cavalry lacks upgrades, they would tank (or kill) the skirmishers, halberdiers fell like flies against them.

I'm not saying it'd work, but I kinda want to see how onagers/siege onagers would do against Briton foot archers. Yes, they outrange and it's expensive, but it only takes one hit. Plus you got the Saracens UT. Everytime I play saracens vs britons I always forget to try it.
What is UT?
@@cornkiller534 Unique tech. For saracens they have one that gives extra damage to mangonels and trebuchets

What a great game. Not gathering the stone on water was a mistake, not going on water sooner was also a mistake by viper. MB had a lot of control for little investment. In the end though Viper beat MB morally with water control and the raids by dropping population. With no resources left and no villagers, once the reinforcements run dry, that’s all she wrote
