What is the easiest way to do division?

- Short division is the easiest way to do division with big numbers, as well as when you have remainders. This math lesson has lots of examples, including how to treat remainders as either fractions or decimals.

That the way I taught it in the 70’s.
Damn. Just as I expected, my mind is blown again! I wish I had learned this method in school instead of doing long division.
I love to be reminded by these quick help vids. Thx.
I'm 50 this year and higher functioning and I could never manage this at school. There's a lot of maths I could never manage at school and I've watched a few of your videos already and you explain things so well and so clearly. I've been enjoying programming for many years and it's simple using a programming language as it has the maths functions/libraries to call to do this stuff for you but in every day life like when calculating stuff for the workshop (woodworking hobby) a calculator has always been needed. Hopefully now I'll be able to start doing this on paper instead and still use the calculator to check my answers. Many thanks!
Came for the "Ga'day", stayed for the math
Hi, thank you so much for your help Today I passed my GED exam
Wait this isn't the method people normally use? I have been doing it since 9 years old!
Sadly, many school systems only teach long division for this.
Love you videos! Hope you do some Maths quizzes. Thanks
Alright so, you're telling me I've been going through all middle school to the 1st year of highschool without having that and still having good grades...?
This was great! Thank you!
Also, who are the geniuses who finds these kinds of methods...Thank you guys
So what makes this the easiest?
and if this is the easiest does that imply that generally and more popularly used methods that are harder and used most often?
I'd like to see what my jr high school teachers helped me avoid on division.
Thanks, I've been looking for ways to do a division and this one really helps me.
I didn’t know there was any other way of doing this. Is there?
That’s the way I was taught too ,before I had a slide rule.
@@Upemm Slide rule???
@@zxuiji Brilliant piece of equipment for maths, you could calculate anything with one, even sines, cosines and tangents. Most chronograph watches today have one built in if you know where to look. All before the days of calculators .
@@Upemm I have a slide rule but have no idea how to use it. When I was at school, before the dinosaurs, we only had pencil and paper to work things out, using out brain if we were lucky enough to have one….
@@denisetebbs2742 I know a lady who is a professor of math, who is never without hers. She would challenge any student to give her any problem and solve it before she could, they would use a modern calculator and she her slide rule. She invariably won, but was gracious I defeat when she didn’t 😂
Sir, Not able to divide the numbers 36419 and 38393 by 44... kindly suggest the solution.
I thought it was a faster way…
I've been binge watching this channel the last couple of days, and I'm kind of mad at the people who set our math curriculum back in elementary and middle school, teaching everything the hard way rather than the easy way.
Had I thought of this particular method back when I learned division, I'd never have done long division at all.
🤷♂
thank you very much bro
I used to do that technique as well.
Where is the two from
Where is the 2 from
I love mats😊😊
Brillant.
I like to visualize, and it's easy to remember a few numbers like the red ones.
Thank you
Not bad
this is a regular long division in disguise. but, it's still good.
But what do you do if there's a remainder? I can't remember.
Watch the video again, he explains remainders. 👍
LOL watch till the end, Anna 🙄
