Imagine the depths of a government that would starve its citizens of energy on purpose. The entire country runs on energy. Was actual horse power in the 1800's or human slave power then mechanical horse power.. without it your not making a dime.

The cap gains doesn't affect middle class , stop trying to get the middle class to fight for you wealthy people. If retirement you maxxed out your RRSPs, TFSAs , used your life time exemption and feel the need to invest in taxable instruments and pay cap gains then your are wealthy full stop.

..what’s it like to be mind numbingly stupid? This new capital gains is retroactive. That means if anyone (that was and is middle class) who bought a small cabin 40 years ago could easily fall into the new tax regime.
Face it…you’re just small and petty and are resentful of anyone that has done better than you financially.

JoseLopez It sounds pretty simple right? It’s more complex though. Just another action to collect more from the people and redistribute it and sucking the motivation out of all.

Nobody wants to give their money away to a useless wasteful Liberal government.

It's decentivizing capital investment in this country by making it less appealing to invest. These investments that we so desperately need directly impact the middle class by providing jobs, which in turn provide more tax revenue, grow communities and provide better living standards. These capital gains taxes 100% affect the middle class, just not directly.

Why is it any of your business if someone else has become wealthy?
