In todays video we are starting to make over our kitchen. We will be adding trim to our kitchen cabinets as an affordable way to update them into more of a shaker style look. We will also be painting them. Next we add contact paper to our counter tops. This is part one of our budget kitchen reno, we will be removing tile and the upper cabinets in part 2. Thanks for watching friends.

Hey Friends, thanks for watching! Make sure to check out Caraway Home and get 10% off site wide: ap.carawayhome.com/EmilyFaith10
Thank you for normalizing breast feeding! I’m in my fifties now and I remember feeding my babies in bathroom stalls and store dressing rooms.
Thank you for sharing your kitchen renovation!
Thank you for watching and the kinds words!
Only started watching but wanted to pause to tell you how wonderful it is to see you nursing your little one in the intro!! Especially as I’m entering motherhood
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel! Hope to bring some fun content your way!
Love the Multitasking Mama opening
Can’t believe y’all painted the cabinets 3 times 😂 third times a charm lol like the dining table makeover. Literally have been so nervous to try contact paper on our rental kitchen counters but this video really encouraged me to give it a go 👀 with landlords approval of course. Thank you for this, it’s really turning out so refreshed, bright, and “of the day” 😂
It's looking good, I can't wait for the next phase!! Awwwh... little Norman and his sweet voice 😍
Thanks Colleen! Little Norm is to cute for words.
What an improvement! Hope your landlord appreciates all your updates ❤️
Oh they do! Haha Thanks for watching.
It turned out beautiful as always!! I love all the little updates to the cabinets (trim, knobs)! Your family is so sweet! ❤
Thank you! Appreciate you watching.
I love the counters and the pots and pans! Good job guys!
Thank you! We really love both!
You guys have very flexible landlords!
They are very happy with the updates we are making, we know them personally.
It turned out amazing! ❤ I can't wait for more! Happy weekend! 💐
Thank you! 😊 Take care!
Looking so good. I think Adeline's Kitchen channel did the contact paper.
Oh fun! I'll have to check it out!
It’s going to be great.
Thanks Carol!
Great video , looks great 🤍
Thank you!
It looks great ❤️
Thank you! 😊
Oh wow this cookware is amazing!!! I can’t get is as we live in AUS 😟
Well done on painting the cabinets 4 times - they look awesome😍
Thanks so much! 😊 We love the outcome for sure!
You did a great job, both of you x x Tell me how this rental thing works in the USA, do you have a long lease, can the landlord evict you, you are spending a huge amount of money on it ?
Hey!! I think im going to do a q and a video and include this topic as it seems to be a common question! Coming soon!
You are breastfeeding!!!🥰🥰🥰💘💝💖
Yes I am! For all three of my babies.
Looks great. For the time being, I would just paint that dark strip above the countertop with the same color as your counters until you get to removing it. 🤷🏻♀️
You should paint your backsplash 😉
It's beautiful. I've thought of doing contact paper on my own worktops so many times but just don't know how it will wear or will it look ugly as when it does start going. Would love to get an update on them sometime in the future. I see people doing it all the time but never seem to able to find an update on how long they lasted etc.
I did it on mine a year and a half ago. It still looks like new.
Contact paper is not a good idea for kitchen countertops. What you could’ve done instead, was painted the countertops and giving it a faux granite look, or marble, whatever. Then you seal it with the spar varnish, to prevent water damage.I’ve done this before and it holds up really well and looks great!
While that's true, the landlord probably wouldn't allow that
That specific contact paper is made from Vinyl/PVC film and meant to be used in flat kitchen and bathroom surfaces.
Ok just have to say that I love you filming while breastfeeding. You go mama! And your kitchen is beautiful!!
Thank you!! 😊 All 3 of my children were breastfed ❤️ Thankful!
Looking good! What is the color you finally went with? I like it😊
Love the contact paper and the trim!
Great rental idea!
Emily you are such a delight to watch. If I had a brand, I would make you my brand ambassador. 😊❤️
That is so kind of you to say!
I actually like the pans on the counter. Everything looks nice.
They honestly did look nice on the counter! Maybe i'll switch it up in the future.
Oh gosh I know the feeling I painted a giant door once 2 times before I realized it. I’m so short and that door was so big lol, thank god I was much younger. The pots and pans are great I saw them and loved all the different colors and genius I thought to have the lid holder and magnetic dividers brilliant! Great work my friend love the marble contact paper I would jack that up for sure
I just love you 😍❤️
Oh i love you
I feel your hinge pain! We had the same hangup with hidden hinges and old cabinet doors. What's done is done but I'm still not super pleased 😅 #timetomove 🤣
Love it. Definitely looking forward to part two!!!
Always doing such a great job! Looks so good!!
Looks beautiful 👍😊❤️
Great job! Loving phase 1! For the tile backsplash, instead of removing it all to replace it, which can be tedious, messy, and expensive, you could just paint it, perhaps even with stencils? Just throwing it out there in case it helps!
That's a great idea! We have a couple ideas on what were going to do. We aren't removing all the tile in the kitchen. Just the part on this wall. The other tile, we most likely will paint. Hopefully it turns out okay!
I am curious as to what coffee maker or espresso machine you and Stefan will get for the coffee station. I am currently researching espresso machines and must admit, it is not an easy decision.
Hey there! My husband is the coffee drinker in the family and he doesn't have an espresso machine. Just pour over brewers. The breville pro is something he would get eventually but they are so much money. Thanks for watching!
Thank you first of all I love the cookware. I've been thinking of doing my kitchen, like ur idea now I know how to start. Thanks for ur ideas like the color.
You are welcome! Glad I could help. ❤️
Your baby inherited your beautiful blue eyes! :) I love the little updates, it's going to be so cute!
Thank you!! 😊 My blue eyes and my husbands dark hair is a wonderful combination
Cute! An actually realistic updates for those of us on a budget
Yes! The trim was the most we spent on this project and it was under $100. Gives it a nice spice up and if you are able to do it yourselves, you save on labour cost with someone else doing it for you.
Love it all! Happy weekend y’all 🤠
Same to you! Thanks for watching ❤️
