Great tips. This is why sticking with a daw is important. You learn all sorts of little quirks that increase efficiency and let you focus on making music. Do you still run mix feedback livestreams?
Hey Alex, great to see you here. Yes, I do and I will be planning more soon. So keep an eye here or if you're note signed up to my mailing list, you should ➡ www.charlescleyn.com/music-production-newsletter
Learning Logic - already know Reaper. Is there anyway to disable the edit window popping up if you double click track? That's making me insane.
This is a very helpful and useful video - great idea to do it! One question I have is how would you define the difference between "grouping" and "stacking"?
Thanks Louis. I would say grouping is for organization and volume only. Summing stacks are useful for processing multiple tracks. For example, if you create a summing stack of 5 guitar tracks. You can add an EQ and Compressor on the summing stack. This will effect all 5 guitar tracks without having to add the eq and compressor on every single guitar track. Make sense?
@@CharlesCleyn Yes, makes sense, thanks Charles.
Hey man, I really love your videos, and take your advice on everything. I'm looking for some help, I'm in need of an affordable piano vst for a pop ballad im working on. So many are on sale right now, but reviews are never consistent. Do you have any recommendations?
Hey Vonn, which ones catch your eye? There are a lot of good ones out there. For pianos, I primarily navigate to Native Instruments. To me, they sound great and you have a lot of flexiblity. Great for pop. You can get a warm pop ton for like an acoustic ballad. Or more punchy pop piano too. They have a few piano libraries you can choose from. I find myself using the Gentleman a lot.
@@CharlesCleyn Wow thanks so much for replying! Im glad you said Native Instruments, because the main one im looking at is their Grandeur piano! I didn't even see the gentleman, so I will definitely check that one out before making my decision!
