NTA she doesn't want to care for her and but expects you to cause you have money. Let YOUR son keep his room. Your niece is not your responsibility and she needs to talk to her baby daddy for help.

Wtf!? "Kick your son out of your home to make room for my child and than quit your job to help raise her baby" what freaking psycho would side with that!? That is insane! Lol kick your own child out and quit your job is the craziest request ive ever seen a entitled person make to anyone

Seriously. It's utterly insane. If anyone in my family, or any of my friends, sided against me in such a case they would be cut out of my life immediately and permanently. Doesn't matter how close we were prior to that: if they are evil enough to side against me, side with such insanity, they are not the family or friends I though they were and I would never ever want to see them again.

NTA... relatives like these must be reported to cops and a TRO must be filed... Also get house security systems...

Tell SIL and Niece to kick rocks and to not bring her spawn over without permission. If the SIL keeps up her B.S. get a restraining order and tell them to F.O.

Once you let her in something tells me, she’s not going anywhere. Squatting most likely when you try to get her to leave.

NTA. If op wants to help, they can talk about it. If the sil wants help, they can talk abouz it.
But to invite themselves into someone else's home and feel entitled to stay, even to kick occupants out... Unbelievable.

Uhhh, where is the father? That's who they should be talking to for support. You are not responsible for your niece's poor decisions.

Na hell no, this shit doesn't happen in my culture . The shameful act like this isn't tolerated. Try to steal is bad enough but being so shameless while doing will get you shunned by everyone in society.

"She takes to social media to complain about how cruel we are for abandoning our niece in her time of need."
So...sister is the one trying to dump her daughter off on OP and her husband to force them to take care of her and the baby, and OP is the one abandoning her? Lmao bro what

I mean, if the kid came over by herself asking nicely or something, giving a reasonable timeframe and budget and so for how it would work and how long it would last, then I could possibly see the argument that you're rude for not considering it. But this is just bonkers, some crazy person trying to emotionally blackmail you.

Many of these stories are so utterly preposterous that I doubt their veracity to say the least. Like, who acts like this?
I have met some really crappy pieces of work in my life, but all these stories about random relatives demanding WHOLE CARS, HOUSES AND PAYCHECKS just because you have them and they don't sounds absurd. Is this some sort of cultural thing from other nations? The author says 'flat', so I presume it's England. I have literally never heard of anything like this in the states.

I would have consulted with the 18 son, see if he'd be willing to room with his cousin and leave the decision to either cohabitation or move out to him. He might step up as a godfather for his cousin's kid and possibly be thinking of vacating for a university dorm anyway to attend that school. Either way, he's an adult, doesn't need my protection, and can make his own decisions.

The parents do not have the right to sacrifice their son's livelihood for someone else's child. Ridiculous.
