I don't know why this is so funny... but it is

The sheer pride on his face when he says (well, thinks) that makes it the best line in the series IMO.
That final scene is perfect, the way it leaves their point of view because we are leaving them.

To be fair, there are several instances of quickly cutting from someone's actual perspective in the show across its run. Most of them VERY quick.
But this one was clearly intentional, and I never even caught it until you mentioned it. Really well done.

Mr Flibble well I never. That’s totally fair enough, the dinner party episode was excellent.
At the risk of sounding pretentious, I'd say Peep Show is a worthy historical document of a time and a people. Future scholars will refer to it in order to present the distilled essence of the deep cynicism and venality of the late 20th/early 21st century.
It’s not pretentious. David Mitchell is a good philosopher and actually went to Cambridge lol. Mark’s character deals with existentialism and cynicism on a everyday basis.
