I remember the 1st track maintenance vehicle in the early 80's in a segment "After Dark" on the local news. This new vehicle is very high tech and built just like a Bart train with controls at both ends.
OK cool vehicle sure I agree. But it just comes off insensitive at a time that you’re talking about a fiscal cliff. At a time when you’re talking about begging taxpayers for more money. One of two in the country. That’s just tells me that not everyone’s using it. So you did not need to spend this money at this time

Yeah, but the BART has non standard tracks, so it needed it's own car. I worked on part of this project.

If you look closely. Those are used for thermal imaging. Thermal cameras tend to have very low resolution ie VGA.
