    Hey thanks for this video. Most useful. I have taken a step in lighting my gaming room for my next adventure where I need an ocean wave effect. I bought a cheap wave light projector IR controlled. I thought it will do for now see how we get on and in the future replace it with something that can be SteamDeck controlled (when I get one) but thanks to this I can see its not a wasted investment as I can use an IR blaster and control it via SteamDeck.
    Sounds I wrote my own soundboard application ( I am a software engineer by trade) that I control with a home made "steamdeck" (I have a video about it) but even my home made software from watching this I think I can even use a real steamdeck with that!
    Really useful video. Thank you.

    • @Atmoseeker
      @Atmoseeker  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching! My first thought was if Godox was a service on IFTTT, then that could be triggered on the streamdeck, but unfortunately it's not there. Next I had a quick test with my godox SL-60w remote trying to get one of the RF blasters to work with it, but I think the ones I have can't do the right frequency. So my last thought is using a smart plug and triggering that off/on which seems to work well, but you don't get to control some of the settings on the light

      For video backgrounds I use VLC player for my default program for opening videos. I'll then already have a video playing in VLC in full screen so when a new video file is opened by the streamdeck it'll open that in the already maximised window. If VLC tries to open a new window, there are settings in VLC to make sure it only has one instance of VLC playing.

      1- You will need an app that will allow midi to be sent through your computer. Think of it like a port, for midi controllers. I used "loopMIDI" and created a port named "streamdeck"
      2- Within the streamdeck plugins, install Music - Midi by Trevliga Spel.
      3- In Streamdeck, you can use the same calls you did before but, insteal of focus and keypress, use the midi controll. Choose Channel 1, then just select any key. I used 60+. On the midi out port, select the loopMIDI port you created previously.
      4- In QLC+ under inputs/outputs, you should see the port you created previously. Make sure it is checked as an input
      5- Have your scenes set up with functions and a virtual console, just like in your video. The only thing we will change will be, rather than having a key combination, we use an external input. You can use autodetect and press your key on your streamdeck to have it loaded up by QLC+
      Hopefully this was clear and helpful!
