Oh my god Luca! Seeing a masterin their craft is always amazing. You make this looks so easy and effortles. That is definetely a sign of your knowledge of the game. I've already tried your Ninjas and Dragon ball decks but I don't get your results at all XD. Great content as usual!
Side note: You actually don't have to exile a card from a graveyard with Immersturm Predator to get the +1 counter, you can just choose to exile nothing and still get the counter. Didn't make a difference in these games though. And an early congrats on the upcoming 100 000! :)
@@ValasHune And that's not even the part about exiling! Even if you don't sac at all, you still have the +1/+1 and the OPTIONAL graveyard exile...basically there's like 3 interacting effects and it's super easy to blend together any 2 of them haha.
Sometimes it isn't a premature gg. It's just that you know the game is ending either in your favor or against you. And after the game ends you can't say GG, so you say it early.
Small correction to the play at 8:30 predator gaining a counter is not depending on exiling a card so you don't need to exile evolving wild Also in 18:40 you could sacrifice one predator to the other to make it bigger it didn't matter eventually but it could have I also have to mention that in 33:43 it's better to order the trigers so you tranform the saga after exiling a card to offer a larger selection in case the opponent will remove the egg mid triggers
Yeah, I put a small annotation on screen to point that out later in the video. Problem is instant speed removal could punish the Predator sacrifice. Better to let the trade happen and only respond if they act first. Unlikely to matter at that point since we're so far ahead, but that was the reasoning.
Great play in the first game. Instead of chumping the 10 power (aka the panic play), you keep your Gnawbone alive so it can give you treasures when you attack next turn.
Maybe it was not the right play, because if the opponent didn't mess up and blizzard brawled any other dragon they would have won, so lvd won cause of an missplay be the opponent. Maybe if he blocked he also would have lost. But its not the wrong to block maybe.
It would've been a trade, not a chump, I believe, not exactly a panic play to avoid going down to 2 against red while taking a big threat away. Still perhaps the best decision but as guy above me said, opponent may have other lines regardless.
I can’t wait to see some of the new brawl decks, the Mardu attacking guy has been super fun for me, as well as letting me play a lot of interesting cards.
Watched only up to the end of the first game so far and am already impressed. Very well executed. And the deck is lovely. Always up for some big creatures with cool artworks.
Did the game 1 opponent misplay with the end game blizzard brawl? If they targeted the predator you'd have to sac the predator and then they could have attacked in to force combat damage right?
Is Evolving Wilds really better than those choose a color lands? It allows you to have a better mana base, as you need to run less basics, and they seem more versatile and resilient. (Shimmerdrift Vale and Uncharted Haven.)
I think in this case it's that evolving wilds plays better with the regrowth channel ability on the sky turtle. In addition, the tanuki only searches for basic lands, so you already have to run basics for that. I'd be curious to hear other people's takes for other decks.
The advantage I've seen with fetch lands (either the ones from the Onslaught block that have since been reprinted, or the unrestricted options like Evolving Wilds, Terramorphic Expanse, etc.) is that they let you thin your deck during play, thus reducing the likelihood of you flooding. For Landfall decks, they also provide multiple landfall triggers during a single turn cycle. So, for two-colored decks, a tapped dual land needs to offer a specific advantage over the aforementioned fetch lands (e.g. snow permanent, life gain trigger, etc.) to be considered superior (and then only because of deck synergies). And because one of the best fetch lands, Fabled Passage, offered an option to have the basic land enter untapped, almost every deck tried to fit that card in. (Addendum: I forgot about Prismatic Vista and Thawing Glaciers when talking about Fabled Passage. Vista is definitely better, and Thawing Glaciers arguably so?)
The deck kind of hinges on immersturm predator being able to exile cards from graveyards, so it's marginally better than the tapped choose-a-color lands
That first match against the werewolf deck had me thinking; what if you made a werewolf deck that included a couple of channel cards that way you could "cast" spells on your turn without actually casting spells?
@@jerodast well to be honest you can't say for sure, but that's what it looked like to me. The guy confidently calls GG, and I believe it was GG in his favour because he believed the loner was a guaranteed win, why else bother trying to play it and go for lethal. Then, only after realising that neither the brawl nor attacking in works, does he immediately concede. I could be wrong but, that's what it looked like to me.
In match 2, from 17:00 on, you seem to be playing as if Immersturm Predator only grows if it sacs something. Actually, in this situation Predator could just attack and become a 4/4, and potentially trade with Goldspan Dragon. No need to sac Tiamat.
Only comment, is that in match 2 when double blocking the goldspan, you chose not to sac. Sacrificing one predator to the other would have the same effect as double blocking and losing one, but would leave your remaining predator at 4/4 instead of 3/3. Additionally, it would leave it indestructible for the rest of the turn in case of board wipe.
Problem is instant speed removal could punish the Predator sacrifice. Better to let the trade happen and only respond if they act first. Unlikely to matter at that point since we're so far ahead, but that was the reasoning.
@@LegenVD Ah I see, I was more concerned about maximizing the value of the trade, but losing both to instant speed removal in response to the trigger would leave them with 2 goldspan. Thanks for the explanation! I love your videos, and have gone from Gold to Diamond since starting to watch you!
In game 1, I suppose the only thing they needed to do was target the Gold Span Dragon instead, so the token would not replace the fought dragon... Tough game
Incorrect. Actually, they should have targeted the Immesrturm Predator because it can't sac itself. Also, I believe it was a misplay from the opponent to not properly stack Partners and Slasher abilities before attacking

Yeah, I put a small annotation on screen to point that out later in the video.
Lots of people make that mistake, have seen someone exile their own flashback card because they thought they had to.
Yeah the trigger for counter is just when it becomes tapped, the act of sacking a creature causes the tap which activates the counter.

Indeed
Predator cant sac itself, so they’d have won the game right there.
Always excited to see a dragon deck. They're slow, but when they stabilized, they snowball.

37:10 - actually they already had a way to exile your egg on board - read the trinket text on the flipped saga.

Anyway yeah the Etching would exile-kill, fair enough.
Cool! How would a new capenna version look like?
23:30 maybe kill the token so they have to sac the chef if they wanted to kill your dragon?
Mmm. While the first cast of it is still on the stack, at 23:19 for instance. Interesting.

I think you forgot that predator gets the counter when it attacks in game two, no sacrifice needed!
I really not sure what he meant in there even if he sacrifice Tiamat then its not a trade with goldspam because the predator will gain indestructible
I meant we would trade Tiamat for Goldspan if we want to keep Predator alive, assuming we value Predator more than Tiamat which is debatable.
