I think it's cute that she takes so much pride knowing that Legosi only eats egg salad sandwiches on Wednesday's because they are HER eggs, only to be dismayed to see him NOT eating a sandwich on a Wednesday later. Thankfully later the episode explains they switched her eggs from being served Wednesday to Friday because they were so popular, which seemed to make her even more happy to know that she is producing very high quality eggs :)

According to Paru, the writer behind the original Beastars Manga series, she confirmed that humans ACTUALLY exist in the world of Beastars (although they’re very rare).
She also revealed that the character Legom here has a crush on a human who is a actual teacher at Cherryton Academy.

Manga reader here, Actually that was the case. The cafeteria switched her days where her eggs get served to friday because it was in demand. And legosi gets to eat it again on friday

My husband did a good job explaining why these scenes are important. It shows how eating eggs is seen in this universe. It was kinda freaky seeing animals eat eggs in this show then I saw this bit and it made everything change for me

Wait what. In the manga it isnt like that. In manga we find out she putting so much extra effort towards the eggs that the taste changed and what made em special was actually just herself being herself
Fun fact: Legom is *Paru Itagaki* herself, sort of. She always wears a large Legom mask in public, so nobody knows her real face, so people speculate Legom is her self-insert character. In the omakes on the first arc of the manga she draws herself as Legom aswell.

I wonder if this omake adaptation is a metaphor for Paru's feelings over her manga - like if her sales go up she feels her work is being appreciated...But if her sales go down she feels she failed her fans.

What I like about the author taking her as her persona is that with her father also a famous manga artist, she feels its an ability she also has. And she takes pride in this ability she has.
I wish Beastars lasted longer. The story is amazing and thematic.

I was just about to make eggs for breakfast right before this video popped up.
Now I'm concerned if I might eat the eggs of a best girl.

The eggs she sells probably aren’t fertilized since I doubt she gets laid often (dedication to her work an all). So you’re probably fine.
While this clip ends on a tragicomic note with Legom fainting at the news from Legoshi, the sequence in the manga ends on a more heartwarming note when we find out later that her eggs were switched to another day, in which Legoshi buys his egg sandwiches then, and continues to enjoy them, much to Legom's relief and happiness that he appreciates her work, even though he doesn't know she provides them. While she expresses her feelings of providing eggs to satisfy her own sense of pride as a hen, I like to think that she's still very grateful to Legoshi for him valuing her eggs at such high quality. If they would take the time to get to socialise, they would be very good friends.
the.. anime does show that she finds out about her eggs being sold on a different day. it just didnt show it
@@f4rtsmella indeed but I don't think it shows Legoshi finding out about it. rather I believe it ends on this strange note where she's all smug and kind of vindictive, as if she holds it against him that he unknowingly freaked her out about her eggs being less good.
I seems that the anime did not include this sentence, but in the manga, Legom actually admits, to herself and the readers, that Legoshi is her no. 1 customer. That's why when Legoshi stops eating egg sandwiches on Wednesday, she's THAT shocked.

I love how self aware everybody is in this. I have watched so many shows where there is just pure ballistic and catastrophic shit going on and the characters just dont seem to mind.
I love how out of all the characters, this hen is the self insert character the author wrote.
And to think that is an analogy to Paru's work, I think. I mean that she always seeks for perfect ways to make her readers enjoy her work to the extent of being sad when they do not.

For those wondering what happens:
The shop owner sees that Fridays are the busiest days, so, she moves Legom's eggs to Friday, and she's all proud.
Then, at the end of the sequence, we see Legoshi eating an egg sandwich on Friday.
I never really liked eggs, but now after watching this scene in the anime, I'm never going to eat eggs.
My brother crack open a egg once and a chicken fetus came out of the egg there was blood and everything. I try too avoid eggs after that.

This...is what made me finally start trying to make Egg Sandos. Probably never going to reach the point of a kombini (nor would I have the opportunity to have a chance to compare), but it's one of my favorite things to make in a pinch.
