That’s awesome I’ve been looking for a good quality scope with a caped windage and that locking feature on the elevation is a great idea. My vortex has zero stops but the turrets always get bumped off zero in hunting situations
Can you make recommendations on 4-5 best 22long rifle, long range scopes $1500 and under, I know you have had some nice scopes for older eyes, that like lots of CLEAR , magnification. Please, thank you, I do own a 10x 60x56 Sightron S3 right now on one rifle. Thanks.
Josh have a Begera B14r -22lr. Have a Sightron S3 8x32x56 my Arken 6x24x56? Has better glass. Looking for better recommendations from Arken 8x34x56? On up to $1500 lots of magnification and clear glass as possible. Thank you , don’t shoot competition.
I have a little older mklV scopes. The only thing I don't like, hard to explain, but the scope travel is bottomed out at the lowest end of travel. With a canted scope base you might have to sight the rifle in at 200+yards(7.62x51). I want my rifles sighted in at 100yds. Had to get burris signature rings to remove some of the can't.
@@ronaldbenskin242 you couldnt zero at 100 with only 25 moa. Thats pretty strange. They have enough internal elevation you should be able to go up to 50 moa of cant and still zero at 50 rimfire or 100 centerfire. Silly question but did you remove the turret cap and attempt to lower your elevation without the turret. The turrets at factory are just set in place and with the turret on its going to limit you to half mil below the zero.
@@ronaldbenskin242 remove the turret and you will see the blue erector piece. It has a slot opening. Use your allen you used to remove the turret to click it up or down and get your zero like that. Then put the turret back on at 0 and tighten the set screws and you will be good to go
Very, Very, Very cool! In the upcoming years the technology is only going to get better and I love it!! My old eyes love my Send It Level but it drives me crazy having it hang off the gun as an accessory and banging it into props. Pretty soon the manufacturers will have perfected built range and using a blue toothed Kestrel for calculations built into the scope with a dashboard. Then?? It will get all too easy and us die hards will go back to making iron sights cool again!!😂😂😂
How does it compares to the MK5 optically?, Looks like something that would do nicely on my AR10. Looking at the MK5 3.6-18x44 to, but so expensive here in Europe...
What is the calibration process for the internal electronic level? What do you think the reliability of holding calibration will be once you start banging around the rifle and scope will be?
@@stevenlee2780 factory calibrated. So as long as you level the reticle to level on your rifle you shouldnt need to do anything. As far as reliability i dont forsee any issues since its leupold
I think the MKIV is the sleeper of all the scopes out there right now and made in the USA 🇺🇸 just tops it off!!
Awesome video Josh
Thanks for bringing this scope to my attention. I’m definitely gonna consider it for my next scope
I’ve bought several different brands of scopes. But I seem to always go back to leupold. Good review.

Thanks for the great review, I think you just gave me the green light to get one.
I have a vx3 3.5-10x50 efr on my m96 Mauser. That scope is really awesome, if you put it on 6x you can see at night with it.

I love leupold i got the 8,5x25x50. And finely my cz457 whit mdt chassis en lilja barrel is finished it shoots great
I have one on my m1a. It 100% is a great dmr scope. Pretty sure the military used them on the m14ebr.
Hell yes, brother, I've been waiting for this one
Thanks 👍🏻

I run mine on 30 moa bases and zero the rimfire at 50. How much cant were you running?
25 moa@@PursuitofAccuracy
Out of the box, scope was at 0 moa. Had 75 moa upward travel. Put it on rifle and needed 2moa down. Not there.

It's the little things that dig at me the most -- the lack of a sunshade for a $1500 scope? Come on Leupold.
That said, it seems like a nice scope.
I hear ya but they got to cut costs somewhere. Its really a very solid deal at 1500 and i pretty much always run a sunshade
I want that leveling system on the PR2 reticle 😭

Was the CA on the left side at 11:27 visible to your eye or only showed up in video?
CA? Oh chromatic aberration. No to the eye its really good, the camera will always add some CA to the video.
EMR -Extra Medium Range?
