Two German women's beach volleyball teams face off as the team of Goller and Ludwig defeat Holtwick and Semmler at the Horse Guards Parade as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games (3 August).
Beach volleyball made its Olympic debut at the 1996 Atlanta Games. USA and Brazil shared all the gold medals in the subsequent four editions, except in Sydney where the Australian women's team dominated.

You know, I'm something of a volleyball expert myself.
We are all volleyball enthusiasts and assperts.
I wont be surpised if beach volleyball is the only sports where womens game is more popular than mens game .
Might not be the only, but men's beach volleyball is more fun to watch imo
@quarantine timme in some matchups I agree, some teams just play their old Stiefel, as we say in Germany. however, some teams are really fun to watch, like Carambula/Rossi, you really want to watch one of their matches.
And while I'm at it, I'd also recommend tuning into the channel trops4 on twitch, they're currently streaming beach volleyball for 14 days straight, 8 hours a day! if you can get over the fact that the commentary is in german, there are a lot of great teams there.
