- I just need to chat with you all today... I don’t always have tips or advice to give you but in today’s video I really just wanted to share a downside to being in business for yourself and entrepreneurship.
I tried really hard to make my Life Insurance career work, but I also think that because I’ve had a lot of moving parts in my life the past three years I moved from California to Texas and then back home. I am just barely now settling into my new little home and feeling settled now I look back at the choices I made when I had to pivot my Notary business from California to Texas. I even tried doing remote online notary services and didn’t see enough income there. I felt like the walls were caving in, and I saw an opportunity for myself when I had to look into getting life insurance for myself and for my son with special needs.. like I said, I don’t have to be a professional and everything that I feel so strongly about and advocate for.
Now I’m really looking at the long-term goal that I have to become a lawyer and to practice law and I absolutely love how even though being a notary doesn’t allow me to give legal advice. I’m still in a legal field related service and that’s a start.
If I really wanted to, I could take my Notary commission and use it in law firm. Right now I love the flexibility of being an independent Notary and now offering apostille services I feel like dealing with the international documents and consulate offices and embassy offices. I really like being in this field.
Because even though sometimes I feel like my role as a Notary is so minor plays such a vital role for individuals that have to legalize or authenticate their documents for legal use.
I may regret becoming a Life Insurance agent and getting into $4000 worth of debt, but I don’t regret becoming a notary public because this little business of mine is going to get me out of that and then some 😇🙏❤️
Thanks for sharing and being honest. Entrepreneurship is not easy and discouraging. I'm not the entrepreneur but I know someone who is and that person is my ❤. The struggle is real and sometimes grinding: mentally, emotionally, and financially. I do my best to stay positive and to help keep the dream alive because we are a team. But as you said, maybe it's finding your niche, fine tuning, and in your case UA-cam about it to grow your channel and benefit from the monetization of it. I think part of being self-employed is learning from what doesn't work, pivot when necessary and keep going.

I feel you. I gave up my life insurance and securities licenses too. It was a hard decision at the time, but I was so relieved afterwards.

Being an entrepreneur is about pivot. and thats exactly what youre doing... Many business owners tried different things before they hit that one brilliant idea(s). We got this!! I think I was part of that insurance group as well. It took me time to realize it won't work for me. Felt kind of defeated, but It was just holding me back. I wish I found notary years ago. Keep inspiring. Nos vemos!!!

I agree if someone is trying to do too many businesses all at once, can take your time and focus from the one that really matters.
Yes! And honestly, with so many side hustles and career options nowadays, the grass is not always greener on the other side ❤️ it’s greener where you water it 😇
@LifeWithAdi_ you help me refocus on what's important in marketing, my notary business. I recommend that notaries reach out to other notaries to notarize for their commission bond, reach out to your local businesses, reach out to construction companies etc.

Same thing happened to me with real estate. I got my license back in 2022, but only had one client that whole time and she was a renter. That was the only transaction I did the whole time. I ran up credit cards to live off of. I had to cut my loses and leave real estate 😢.
It breaks my heart not because it didn’t work out but because I went into it with a good heart, not even thinking that debt would rack up 😭 and that was the whole goal lol 😂 to get out of debt! Lmao omg

Have you tried going to go to a small claims court as a pro se litigant to get the people that left you in debt to pay for the debt that they put you in? It sounds like a breach of contract issue and you might find some legal remedy.
Also are you thinking about law school? Maybe letting go of life insurance has opened your schedule and you have more time to go through as a part timer! ❤❤

Hello I have my insurance licenses since 2008. That is why refused to build a team they dont tell you the dark side of the business the charge backs . I don’t just right everybody. Hopefully one day you will comeback to insurance. You nspired me. Also I have my notary in Texas are you offering courses? I appreciate your honesty 😊

Insurance is a scam. Notary business is a nitch where we focus on marketing we can make steady income
I think the sales part of things can feel that way. But I do think it’s a product we need. I just don’t think I can do any more chargebacks after putting the work in 😭
