Beef. Bison. Elk. Brioche. Bun. Sesame Seeds Bun. Loaf Bread. Cheese or No Cheese. A burger is so beautifully versatile. I'm hungry now...Grill...Broil...Fry. Options😆
I'll choose the chicken sandwich every time. Add some swiss cheese to melt on it. I've never been to any of the national burger or taco joints, but I love going to the local diner to get my chicken sandwich and fries. I also enjoy the drive- through / drive-in aspect of the diner.
The burger gives you versatility in the meat. The chicken sandwich gives you variation in preparation and flavor. It's sort of like vanilla vs. chocolate. The chicken is vanilla. It's a better carrier for flavor while the burger pushes the dominant flavor of whatever protein (or veggie thing) you pick. If you step outside American burgers and really spice and season the meat, that changes things but the only argument here was for condiments.
I’d say your analogy is backwards. Chicken is chocolate. It’s super solid solo. Fry it up, put it on a buttered bun. You’re golden. But a burger? A burger NEEDS some sort of grilled onions, bbq sauce, cheese etc. Someone hands you a beef patty on a bun with nothing else you’re throwing hands. Burgers are vanilla. There’s something there but it’s nothing like chocolate unless it’s got toppings.
Lol, y'all, there are 3 macronutrients: fats, proteins, and carbs. Fruits are carbs. Beans have protein and carbs. Avocado is technically fruit, but counts as a fat
Lolllollol, if the burger was not on a bun, it was on sliced bread and that is where the ratio is off. If there was no bread.....that burger was smothered in gravy and serves as salisbury steak! That's how that worked.
I'm not that into chicken burgers or sandwiches. I am very unimpressed by them, because I generally hate how everyone fries chicken, mostly. And I used to love beef burgers, but I will give this win to chicken sandwiches. They can be fried, grilled and their sauces are usually better than a sauce that is put on a beef burger.
I don’t eat either (pescatarian) but valid points on both sides. Burger can be beef, elk, bear, bison. Also more toppings and choices of cheese. Chicken has more versatility in the preparation - fried, grilled, shredded, salad. And more versatility in the combinations - barbecue, spicy, cordon blue, regular chicken salad, curry chicken salad. I think a tie for the debate 😊
I’m with Josh with the burgers. But Dulce, the Cotton Candy Grapes are amazing. Josh, live a little, and try these grapes. They only come out once a year.
Okay so, black chicken is called a Silkie (the breed), and I am still listening but Cornish hens and pheasant(Yeah, i am counting it as a type of chicken) is another breed. And I do think turkey burgers / chicken burgers also count towards chicken sandwiches! That is the versatility of chicken. It can be a burger if it wants to. Ground chicken, diced jalapeños and Colby jack cheese in the patty! Ya'll needed me in the room for this one! Lol😂 I am ready to defend chicken but low key I am a beef burger girl!😅
The arguments seem to be restaurant based. I want to call out that at home, you can whatever you want. My chicken salad is mostly thigh meat cause I prefer that too. I would say “pulled beef” is either loose meat (like spare taco meat or a chopped cheese ) or braised short rib. There’s debate over whether either of those are burgers, but they do exist and they’re delicious.
Dulce tried so hard but she lost when she opted for the salad. She gave up on sandwitch vs burger and went for chicken vs beef. XD Ground beef does all that and more.
This is the first time that i disagree with both of you. Tomato and cucumber are vegetables as are melons. You have to replant vegetables after harvest, you don't need a new Apple tree or grape vine every time you harvest.
You can't get a rare burger from most concerned cooks, that's a discussion for steak, while ground beef really shouldn't be triffled with... on the topic of temperature cold chicken makes a classic while burger salad sandwiches leave you singing "I need a gyro" into the night.
The average burger is better than the average chicken sandwich. But I will usually choose Chick-fil-a. But above all, THE best chicken sandwich I've ever had was far better than the best burger I've ever had. The best things I've had between bread has been sandwiches, not burgers.
Burgers hands down! The ONLY chicken sandwich I've ever liked is the Wendy's Spicy chicken sandwich! I do eat my bacon cheeseburgers on corn tortillas instead of buns.
Chicken. I've probably had 10 burgers in the last 30 yrs. I agree on tartare and turkey bacon. HOWEVER...Al Fresco chicken bacon/sausage works, if you're trying to be healthy. The country style sausage patties taste like McDs, but without the fat. And the bacon is salty, gets crispy
I prefer a burger, because of the pickle factor... But I definitely have enjoyed a breaded chicken sandwich as well.. I am a pickle fiend.. so I guess that is why the burger edges in front
I only like chicken sandwiches fried and they must be hot fresh and Crispy! Outside of that I'm all about burgers. You know something that wasn't mentioned about burgers versatility... You can make ground beef with pretty much any cut (ribeye, sirloin, brisket, chuck, etc) you also can adjust the fat to meat ratio. Also how come we haven't tried to make beef bacon yet. Pork, turkey, chicken... What about beef?
How is this even a debate? They're both great sandwiches. They can literally have all the same toppings or no toppings. But if you get a chicken sandwich with nothing on it, it MUST be a chicken thigh sandwich. Side note: I can't believe she didn't bring up the KFC double down sandwich, or either one of them that brought up McDonald's land air and sea sandwich 🤮
Josh... love you, side with you more often than not... a little powder please, just to mellow the gloss. Any restaurant has 1 chicken sandwich to 5+ kinds of burgers.
I’ve been correctly guessing their stances, which makes me think I’m a little too invested in this podcast
Same! 😄
I just love this show so much. Thank you for making my Thursdays so special.
Why does this podcast constantly make me church nod & clap when they really had a point hard 😂
Cause you grew up going to a black church?
Truth.
I love ya'll together much more than his other podcast co host! The energy is here!!!🎉 please bring this back!!!😢
I remember the white bread with hot dogs and hamburgers.
My grandma never gave me an allowance though, how 'bout yours?
“What kinda lunatic would put that in a fruit..?!?”😂😂😂
Beef. Bison. Elk. Brioche. Bun. Sesame Seeds Bun. Loaf Bread. Cheese or No Cheese. A burger is so beautifully versatile. I'm hungry now...Grill...Broil...Fry. Options😆
stop it! i just had a patty melt from Boudin not too long ago, and your list of options are making me hungry again 😂
I'll choose the chicken sandwich every time. Add some swiss cheese to melt on it. I've never been to any of the national burger or taco joints, but I love going to the local diner to get my chicken sandwich and fries. I also enjoy the drive- through / drive-in aspect of the diner.

@11:00, the rareness of the chicken is not in the cooking temperature but the crunch of the skin and breading
Hot dog buns cut across the real top, instead of the conventional side cut, are way better for eating hot dogs.
This and French Fries vs Onion Rings make a great double bill.
I just knew in my heart that Josh is a burger guy. Glad to know your tongue is working...
Never heard of "blue" steak. That's disgusting. To each their own but that sounds like somebody who is open to cannibalism
i like both; it's hard to choose between a burger and a chicken sandwich when i'm ordering food from a fast food restaurant.
@24:00 Josh's manager get on it and get Josh a commercial speaking about pigs feet.
Lol, y'all, there are 3 macronutrients: fats, proteins, and carbs. Fruits are carbs. Beans have protein and carbs. Avocado is technically fruit, but counts as a fat
Glad you two are finally getting into the meat of it.
If you haven't had a hot honey chicken sandwich, you're missing so much!
Fish Po Boy. That's been the answer this whole time.
If we're talking sandwich supremacy, the burger can't be beat!
Joshua, I'm *all about* the Shakespeare reference!!!!!
I prefer chicken sandwich over burger, but they each have their moment and place in time, in life.
The Impossible burger!!! Man, there has GOT to be meat in that 28:09
Lolllollol, if the burger was not on a bun, it was on sliced bread and that is where the ratio is off. If there was no bread.....that burger was smothered in gravy and serves as salisbury steak! That's how that worked.
Dulce, if you ever come down to Houston Imma have to buy you a barbacoa torta.
I'm not that into chicken burgers or sandwiches. I am very unimpressed by them, because I generally hate how everyone fries chicken, mostly. I am a Vegetarian, BUT I love to watch ya'll argue. 😁🤣
The popeyes Hottie Sauce chicken sandwich was next level!! Still my favorite 😍 🐔
25:42
The sacrilege
25:57
I have never agreed with Josh more
Love you guys
Sunrises or sunsets is a fun debate
I missed people losing teeth in Popeyes parking lots. We really have fallen apart!
Controversial: It's a Chicken Burger, not Chicken Sandwich. The burger buns make it a burger.
Nando’s Thigh and Mighty hot sandwich changes the conversation.
There's no vs. nor or here. Fill the bag. Tacos, chicken sandwiches, burgers, what-have-you, and yes I'll take fries with that.
Okay so the only thing that'll beat a chicken sandwich is a double/triple cheeseburger.
Mustard absolutely belongs on a chicken sandwich. Especially if its honey Mustard. And burgers over chicken sandwiches any day.
"I saw this grown man order a burger... plain - just ketchup and cheese."
Meanwhile somewhere Matteo Lane is feeling attacked 🤣
Me and my mom love cotton candy grapes
No sandwich is wrong. 😂
Josh is from Chicago? No wonder I like him.
Turn up 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
You can never top a well cooked and made cheeseburger. No other sandwich can compete
Yes, more chicken sandwiches made with thighs, please!
I’m with Josh with the burgers. But Dulce, the Cotton Candy Grapes are amazing. Josh, live a little, and try these grapes. They only come out once a year.
Michael Jackson vs Prince would be a great topic!
Okay so, black chicken is called a Silkie (the breed), and I am still listening but Cornish hens and pheasant(Yeah, i am counting it as a type of chicken) is another breed. Sugar is a carb anything that has sugar will turn into carb in the body. Veg or fruit can add carbs to your diet
Dulce tried so hard but she lost when she opted for the salad. She gave up on sandwitch vs burger and went for chicken vs beef. XD Ground beef does all that and more.
Dulce is so beautiful!
I can't have a burger without avocado and roasted mushrooms... sue me 😂
This is the first time that i disagree with both of you. Tomato and cucumber are vegetables as are melons. You have to replant vegetables after harvest, you don't need a new Apple tree or grape vine every time you harvest.
Does anyone in here have recommendations for fast food chicken sandwiches that don't rely on pickles or mayo for flavor balance?
Beautiful
You two just insulted the entire French population over 60 😂
black bean burgers are 🔥 I’m not even vegetarian
You can't get a rare burger from most concerned cooks, that's a discussion for steak, while ground beef really shouldn't be triffled with... on the topic of temperature cold chicken makes a classic while burger salad sandwiches leave you singing "I need a gyro" into the night.
I thought I'd had steak ceviche before, aparently you can also make chicken in that style. It is called Aztec Beef...?
tongue is flat means lacks tastes buds as taste buds are bumpy.
Was going to say this but I figured someone beat me to it.
Rihanna's okay and all but Dulcé's my ultimate crush.
I'm burger
I don't like chicken in bread
I was once given a chicken sandwich and told it was a burger...
I made an enemy
Nobody even mentioned honey and spicy on chicken ?! Why ?!
The average burger is better than the average chicken sandwich. But I will usually choose Chick-fil-a. But above all, THE best chicken sandwich I've ever had was far better than the best burger I've ever had. The best things I've had between bread has been sandwiches, not burgers.
Raw Beef and horseradish sauce was hot all through the 60s and 70s. Check your Bull Roast.
cucumber is a melon.
Burgers hands down! The ONLY chicken sandwich I've ever liked is the Wendy's Spicy chicken sandwich! I do eat my bacon cheeseburgers on corn tortillas instead of buns.
Burgers are better than chicken sandwiches... that's just a fact.
Chicken enchiladas are tender. Haven't had them in years. Casseroles are nice with baked chicken.
lol you arent supposed to eat burgers at diffferent temps. cause its grounded meat.
No. If it goes in the car window, its NOT food!
Lamb burger every day
YES
Who makes "samich talk" this f'n entertaining, WHO? Only you muhfgz right here!!!
Dulce saying there isn't pulled pork... but what about beef brisket burger :(
It's about the burger.
I eat my steak blue.
I choose burgers I love beef more than I like chicken but I love wings 🎉🎉❤
I prefer a burger, because of the pickle factor... But I definitely have enjoyed a breaded chicken sandwich as well.. I am a pickle fiend.. so I guess that is why the burger edges in front
European farmers vaccinate their chickens against salmonella.
Edit: At least some of them.
The next host.
Red grapes are low sugar...
Its the Iron your body is losing that makes you want burgers!
BTW, beef and pork is way worse for the heart and circulation system compared to chicken. 🐂🐖🐔
Also japanese people eat raw chicken sashimi.
Josh... love you, side with you more often than not... a little powder please, just to mellow the gloss. Any restaurant has 1 chicken sandwich to 5+ kinds of burgers.
Burger
Burgers all day 😋

The world is burning and this is the convo this week. Whut the peep 🐣
You guys stole this food battle idea from the taste buds podcast 🥴
Every episode is a weak copy
