Iceland Trip Day 7 Part 1: Exploring Mývatn

In this episode, we explore the stunning Mývatn region in northern Iceland, a place of unique geological wonders and breathtaking landscapes. Our journey takes us to the Skútustaðagígar pseudo-craters, formed by volcanic activity over 2,000 years ago, offering spectacular views of the surrounding area. We then venture into the mystical Grjótagjá Cave, home to a thermal spring once used by outlaws in the 18th century. Next, we take in the beauty of Mývatn Lake, a serene body of water surrounded by volcanic features and rich wildlife. Finally, we hike up Hverfjall Volcano, a massive tephra cone with a 1 km wide crater, offering panoramic views of the entire region.
