that's some pretty wild sounds you're getting! I like them mate! I worked on a bass very much like that last week, came in for a pickup not working and set up.
Always linseed, natural oils, doesn't 'go off' and can be removed with other natural products. I'm not a 'tree hugger' but I know what works. Don't fall for product placement, or new is always better
@@tallthinkev for me I used any lemon oil I could find, not necessarily 65. Plain mineral oil (as well as baby oil) has worked too but it's damn near impossible to find in my country, as well as linseed. I have a debut P coming my way so I'll experiment with the small bit of linseed oil I got left and see if it does what the music man did
@@flukyreview9128 Because linseed oil dries and becomes hard. The putty that glaziers use to seal around the glass in windows is made from linseed oil, and it dries as hard as a rock - would you want your fretboard like that ? Try adjusting your neck relief with a rock hard fretboard and see what happens ! 😭 Linseed oil is great for treating wood that's going to be outdoors or which might get wet, and is often used on rifle or shotgun stocks, but it's completely the wrong oil for musical instruments.
He ahi lo absurdo...

I really enjoy your reviews
Don't use linseed, use Dunlop 65/lemon oil. I made that mistake with a music man SUB I had for awhile, it would always go dry.

@@WildWildWeasel Nice, you're willing to give it a go. Maybe the most easy why to get is your local art shop
@@tallthinkev I know of one that's down the road, I think like 5 miles down, hopefully they have once the one I have runs out though
Linseed oil ??? That's the _last_ thing you should use on a fretboard !
Wrong, sorry
@tallthinkev It's your funeral, so go ahead then.

Why can’t you use linseed oil on the fret board?
