I lifted my forester earlier this year and went with a Primitive lift also they are great people there and very helpful. I went with the Bilstein B-6 struts and King springs and have been very happy what an improvement over the stock ride, especially off the pavement. You did a nice job and it looks great thanks for sharing the video. Hope your enjoying all the hard work you put into it :)
@OBXT Adventures I have the same spring/ strut combo. There no insulator on the front shocks. Does yours make any noise or was there a break in period?
@@matthewnowell-osborn7910 Actually it did we called Primitive and we didn't put grease on the strut towers where the spring sits in the cradle they said the instructions weren't clear on that so we pulled them out and put some grease where they sit and have fixed it no noise sense. I tried to grease them in place and it didn't work, unfortunately. Hope this helps
King Springs are Aussie made with lifetime warranty. They are a great combo with KYB and very popular here in Australia. I also got the King Springs and KYB for my 2014 Falcon. King Springs have a little higher spring rate. I went with the KYB Gas A Just (monotube).
hi man! i know a long time pass from this video but i have a outback with a rear self leveling suspension and i want to change a normal suspension. Would it be possible for you tell me what's the reference of your set exactly? the reference of these kyb? struts and springs please
Great and informative video dude! Thanks for uploading this as it answered a lot of my questions! Looking to lift my Foz I do have a quick question, are those Falken WildPeaks? 215/65R16? If so, how are you liking them? Did you have to do any custom work to get them to fit/clear your wheel well?
Thank you. Glad this video helped you some. And yes they are falken Wildpeaks but size 225 55R on 17's. I had no problem with them fitting. Specially after installing my raised King Springs. And you are installing them on a Forester so you should definitely have no problems they have a more wider wheel wells then my 08' outback. ✌️😁
@@BG.Adventures thank you for the response! Just ordered my Wildpeaks and can't wait to get them on! Have you experienced any issues with the KYB struts "topping out" over bumps? Technically the Springs are extending the struts, right? (I apologize if this is a newbie question, just curious with your experience thus far on your set up)
Just wanted to follow up on this. I installed the Wildpeaks and the Raised King Springs w/ KYB struts and boy were you right. Absolutely love the set up. Thanks again for the insight and helping me on this. Much appreciated! ✌️
Can you make a update video on how the set up is going? im wanting to switch to KYB on my FXT too but kinda hesitant on whether to stay OEM or aftermarket.
Or I can answer your questions lol... I love my KYB struts and the raised king springs. I'm glad I switched to this setup over oem. If you don't like stiff springs, then maybe it won't be for you. But they are good for off-roading. You won't be disappointed. 👍😁
What tire size are you running and have you experienced and issues? Im about to get a set of black rino wheels and it feels silly to put stock fitting wheel on a car that i am about to put a lift kit on
I can't believe I found your you tube! I've been seeing your car all over the internet. I love the build! I got an 04 outback and was thinking about doing the same thing. Did these springs give you a lift? Ive been looking and could only find the struts and the raised springs. I couldn't find them fully assembled together on primitive racing
I'm glad you found my channel. I'm all over the internet? Wow... I'm mainly on Instagram and lately decided to make this channel. Yes, on the lift. But make sure you get the "raised" king springs, and I also got small spacers for the rear struts. So it gave me about an 1" lift. I thought the same thing about putting it all together myself, but it came all put together. Primitive Racing is awesome. 😁👍
Hows it handling after about a year of settling? Im debating between primitive racing's 0.75" front/1" rear suspension system or the 1.3" one for my 09 outback. Rear looks like it would be a bear from all the videos ive seen.
So does those exel shocks come with the king springs installed? I mean i see they are but I thought shocks come stock than you would have to install the springs after?
Screw what others say. Then again accepting others advice can come in handy sometimes. Looks Damn good though. How much of a lift did you get & how long did they say till the springs start to loosen up? Looking forward to seeing your next vid on how the ride has changed.
How much of a lift did you get so far @@BG.Adventures . Yeah let us know how much it settled as well. Now I got my girl back on the road looking to possibly doing a 2" lift & trying to figure out which setup will settle less.

Hey! What year is your forester?
Such a cool car! I just bought my 3 year project last week.
That's a good video. Nice looking car. DIY'ers enjoy the journey as much, if not more, as the destination. 🙂
Thank you 😊 🙏🏻
i like your build and thanks for sharing your vdeos.. im planning to put some kings springs as well in the future
Thanks for watching 😁🙏... I love my king springs.
Cool video Sir 👍💯👍I'll be getting some real soon for my 99 subaru outback👍

Yeah there popular here in the states also. And I can see why I love mine wish I got them sooner. 😁👍
It is "They're 14mm" not "There 14mm" nuts.
Thanx for the vid, nicely done.
Do you shit your pants?

No problem asking... I haven't had any issues with the king springs or struts. Love them specially offroad. 😁👍

I am currently putting those same shocks in my outback, and am wondering what size tire that is. Also looks like cut fender?
What did it cost if you don’t mind me asking. I was thinking about doing king springs and the bilsteins. But I may go this route… great video btw
It was close to $1400... you have to buy all the separate parts from primitive racing and they put it all together for you. Well worth it... 😁👍

Nice video of your upgraded suspension installation! Are those 1” wheel spacers? What’s the offset on your wheels? Thanks for posting your progress👍
Thank you... yes my wheel spacers are 1" and my wheels offset is 45. They are the motegi MR118's
Hey, where do you get your mods from, lights, decals etc ?

@@BG.Adventures did you get the 0.75front/1" rear option or the 1.3" option with the overload king springs?
@@BG.Adventures also, did you have torq locker installed? For under $500 I'm seriously debating on getting one.
No on the torq locker. Never needed it. And I had the first option not the 1.3
So does those exel shocks come with the king springs installed? I mean i see they are but I thought shocks come stock than you would have to install the springs after?
Yeah, if you order all the parts to put together, they put it all together for you. Primitive Racing are good people.
@@BG.Adventures Would you by anychance have the direct link to where you bought you shocks/spirngs?

How do these ride looking to do the 1.5 king springs on my SJ forester to fit 235s
Oh, I love them. They are a lot stiffer than oem shocks.
Those springs look a heavier rate than original? What's the lift ?
I've got some excel struts for my legacy soon to go in. Using original springs
Yeah they are a little stiffer then oem. The lift is close to an inch in the front and a little over an inch in the rear with the spacers.
@@BG.Adventures What are the spring rates for the King springs you installed? Did Primitive tell you?
@glennmuir No, they didn't tell me, but you can probably look it up on their site or Google it. 😁👍

@@tpseeker3367 I got about 3/4 inches in the front, and 1 inche in the back. Just right in my opinion. 👍😁
Sweet @@BG.Adventures. So 2 inch spacers would with the shocks & springs would be enough to start out with for my wish list.
How do the new springs ride compared to the old suspension
OMG a world of a difference... I should of got them sooner. I love them on and offroad. Totally recommend. 👍😁
