Colleen Dewhurst, I just love her as a strong female role which includes "mother earth" roles. Also, she is the most incredible actress I would go to see each and every time she's performing. She's done remarkable work in theatre, tv, and movies.
I loved her in everything she ever did. I loved her in Murphy Brown as her mother. When she t looked at her boss and said " Young man, are you familiar with the phrase can't pownd a nail with a tack hammer"?, I laughed till my face hurt.
Tragically she was addicted to smoking and I’m certain it contributed to her death by cervical cancer although she tried-stupidly-to cure it with prayer! BUT she was a wonderful actress and oh so unique. It sad that there are more filmed performances of her in WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF, LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT and AH, WILDERNESS. On a different level, I treasure ANNE OF GREEN GABLES just for her. What a treasure and what a delight.
I love Ms Dewhurst.

She played the demon in the exorcist 3. Brilliantly well.
