For the hammock do it in the middle for your wife can move, and for the dinning table use a up and down frame near the wall you can pull it up when you are dinning and down to have space and the hammock in the middle, and for the bed area just cut the legs off so you can keep the frame and throw all the way to the back and put a muck on the edge so can store your close and the rest is lovely your house
Hi guys! Rich Gallagher here. I've been a fan of tiny efficient homes and earth sheltered homes since I studied Architectural Drafting when I was young. You did a great job and wish you the best! Enjoy your new life!
@@JakeandKate im so happy for the both of you. Im getting ready to build too so hopefully you'll make some videos of how you did certain things in the house
Thanks so much! On Kates blog are photos of the early stages which might help a little. And we definitely hope to make more videos answering any questions!! Let us know specific questions you have :)
Cool I'll take bits and pieces to start and I'm asked for more like the plans I asked for in the last comment you guys did really Great with that that is good
I am so proud of both of you! This is a great video...I loved watching it; and, I was looking all the while for the perfect place for you to display (maybe on top of your cabinets) something (appropriately tiny for a tiny house) that belongs in a country kitchen that I collected over the years for someone special. It turns out the special people are you---unless you don't want it (them)! Jacob, you are a great speaker...you handle "impromptu" so well. Both of you kept my attention!! (....yeah, yeah...once a teacher, always a teacher...yep, I taught public speaking, along with all the other stuff.) Also, you are a great carpenter. And, of course, I love your adopted furry child, whose name I didn't catch!!! ♥ Your Aunt and Godmother, C. ♥
Great question! It is 31’ long. The trailer was probably weighted for about 15-20k lbs since it’s an old camper frame. Our house is probably about that or maybe pushing max max capacity since it still towed well the times we did move it.
Awesome job and video...love what you have done and wish you much joy...We are "neighbors" near the western end of the Basin Rd. and know your folks, Kate.
Very nice job......just hope there's enough room for a large pup who may feel confined in a small space.....being he's so young..... Doesn't look like he can get up into the loft to be with you guys :(......which they love to do.
Our air frying is a Ninja Foodie 8in1 air fryer! It’s awesome. Our composting toilet is a Natures Head Composting Toilet that we bought from Tiny Little Things!
Hi Awesome Couple I'm looking at a property two blocks from Silver lake in Washington State my house is going on the Market Wednesday but I would love to find the plans on your tiny home that is awesome awesome as it's incredible how you all put it house in the market on Wednesday a gonna have cash assessible I think I already have a lot too but I would love to find the plans out about that house that it looks incredible
WOW!!!! you did a fantastic job!!!!! Kudos to you on not having to pay rent anymore. God Bless your home. I hope you have a carbon dioxide and a fire alarm and a fire hydrant for your home. I thought I was good when I did our own roof and flooring. Yes God is an awesome God!!! He spoke to me and told me to rip up all our carpet and lay flooring. Re did my kitchen counters and cabinets. I am no carpenter I just watch how to on you tube. I just was diagnosed with stage 3 osteoarthritis in both knees. I am retiring 1 year earlier and I by the grace of God have paid off 8 credit cards in 2 years. So 9 weeks and I am ready to retire. My husband and I have been blessed 41 years of marriage.
Thank you so much!!! We do have a carbon monoxide detector, fire alarm, and fire extinguisher. Wow awesome to hear your personal growth! Thanks for sharing!!
I do have a question with your electric did u do it your self or had a company do it. My husband and I wants to build but we are low income so with building something like this what do you suggest solar for electric, or do you have 220s like did you install by a manual. Also with the tile as floating does that mean it doesn’t have any material underneath and also compost toilet how does it work and does it have its own tank can you explain more with your part twos I can pull them up sadly
Jacob did the electric. If you did solar would it not be a moving tiny house? Tile was laid on top of subfloor and I think an underlayment. Compost toilets have a removable bucket that you empty for pee and a storage area to hold compost and other waste. Definitely look into them! They’re quite pricey, and toward the end of our time living there it was quite tiring to use it, but it served its purpose and got us through.
I'm currently planning out my own tiny house and I love your layout. I'm short so what you did with the head room in the living room and loft is an amazing idea. Can you let us know the length of your tiny and the height of the ceilings in the different spaces? Thank you in advance for the info but especially the inspiration! (Please pass an extra head scratch to your beautiful doggo from this internet stranger!)
Hi Samantha, thanks for the questions, here’s the answers... - Our Tiny House is 31 feet tip to toe. - The kitchen and Entryway Ceiling is 11feet tall (above the bathroom is 7 feet because of the storage loft). - The front of the house has a 12ft ceiling and it is roughly 4 1/2ft in the loft and just under 6ft in the living room. These number are not perfect because you lose space as you add flooring, ship lap, etc.
@@JakeandKate thank you so much. This gives me a much better sense of space. And that height split really is perfect. (I'm 5'4" in a family of 6'6" people lol so the running joke is all the stuff they put on top of cabinets and fridges.) Best of luck and lots of fun on this new part of your lives!
Thank you all for the support! Don’t forget to check out our other videos! And subscribe!!! 🙂
I have seen a lot of tiny houses in the past year that l liked but l love yours. You have everything you need to live tiny.

Incredible job on the tiny house. I really liked the Kitchen Aid drawer. Smart!
Thanks so much!! Yes we love how it’s out of the way but so available for our use.
Love the french door and white exterior! Most tiny houses are Industrial themed.
Thank you! Yeah we wanted as much natural light as we could!
I thoroughly enjoyed the video.. Good luck to the both of you. I'm rooting for you both.

Good idea! Yes, since this tour we adjusted a few things. The bed legs were one!
Such a cozy home for a special couple!
Thanks so much!
Shalom to your home. The Word is the absolute best way to build your home

Awesome build guys. Had questions though. How long is trailer? What weight was the trailer rated for? How much do you think the house weighs now?
Great question! It is 31’ long. The trailer was probably weighted for about 15-20k lbs since it’s an old camper frame. Our house is probably about that or maybe pushing max max capacity since it still towed well the times we did move it.
Awesomeness! Welcome back. Just found ya. Stay safe and warm.

Love the home, I have to know the info on that small wood burner you have on the cabinet please!
The Woodstove is called “The Mini Woodsman” and it’s sold on Etsy!
Nice home.

Would you mind sharing your floor plan? This is awesome! 🫶🏽
Awsome great job , you did a good job finishing the house so fast. By the way how big is your trailer?
The trailer we used is a repurposed 28 foot camper frame.

What are the dimensions of your tiny house? It looks quite wide. Can it be trailerable without a wide load permit?
8 ft. There's a video starting the framing of floor
Our Tiny House is 8' x 31' and we did that to make sure we could tow it with just Jacob's truck without a permit.

Custom offered from homedepot.com
They have a lot of size choices online.
