- "Nostalgia". The Style of the waltz Heimatsgefuhle is emphatically Ziehrer, playing on original melodies that allowed both the graceful turns and dancers whilst still providing plenty of opportunity for the stressing of the Heberte (the practice of sweeping the ladies off their feet at which Ziehrer was particularly persuasive in many of his waltzes). The piece, which literally means longing for one's homeland, was first performed at the Hofoperntheater at the Opern-Redoute on 31st January 1892 and has not been performed in recent times, making this the first ever recoring.

One of his finest works, every waltz part is really sublime but I think that those starting at 1:33 and 4:11 are the most memorable.
I love that you Id the paintings used , Many dont take the effort . It just enhances the effect of the music of the time , When one can see what theses places and artists were doing the same times the music was being played .
