How to Clean a 1986 honda trx 350 carburetor and a hack to check your float seal. Please smash the like button it really helps me and this channel out a lot
How do you remove the slide tube if the metering rod needed to be altered or changed. How do you synchronize the butterfly and the slide tube at the linkage between the two. The tab can be spread or collapsed but what are specs for how to do this? The service manual indicates it can be done but does not say how or why you would have to alter it. Nothing in the diagnostic tree that describes this area. I have 87 350 and went through the carb but it still had mid range, under load, a sputtering from fuel enrichment. Tried everything, no luck, the I lifted the tab at the tube/butterfly synchro linkage with some folded cardboard, about 3/32" rise, and it runs great within all rpm ranges under Driving loads or just sitting and reving it up. No one knows if this carb has been altered from factory but it definitely has been into. Someone wrapped brass shim around the float/needle attachment plate to lift the needle sooner so I think it had an issue with enrichment and that is what they tried. The needle appears ok, it holds vacuum. The needle tension lift spring/rod that pushes against the float plate works fine.
So it started and ran while you gave it gas. But then it died, when it was supposed to idle. That is exactly what mine is doing. How did you get it to run correctly?
Hello I got Honda four trax does the pump suppose to stay running constantly mine shut off and it won't idle it will only run on starting fluid then dies out
All I saw was your hand in front of the little parts that I wanted to see removed or installed and a blurred screen on top and bottom when you blow out jets or take pressure readings. Nobody disputes your knowledge of carb cleaning but camera positioning is not one of your best qualities. And for pete's sake," Blow your nose". That is the main reason I barely finished watching. That and the cough. Maybe covid?
Thanks man. I took some good stuff from this vid. Especially the part about checking the float needle with a vacuum. Good stuff.
