Well in the BIL's 9600 Deere combine, we typically run about 4-4.5 mph... in tougher conditions (burcucumber on field edges, stuff like that) 3-4 is more typical. Dry hilltops with hard clay or beach sand that never produce much, 5-5.5 mph. I once picked through a muck wethole at 7.5 mph-- he told me keep the speed up so I didn't get stuck! LOL:) Hey it was picking it and shelling it and I didn't get stuck, so it worked. Course the corn was pretty thin through there anyway because it was SO wet that year a lot of it drowned out in the low muck parts... Muck soils can grow 300 bushels easy in a good year, but too wet or too dry, it's a mess and not that productive. Later! OL J R :)
@@boehmfarm4276 Yeah, my R52 barely fits in the shop but with the factory setup it holds 245 bu. If it was one year older it would have fit in my shop because the bin would have been only 225 bu. As it is, I had to lower the bubble up auger 1 inch to get in! Luckily they made it so it can be lowered easily. Now I don't get cab corn the way I have it as it spills out the corner instead right onto the ladder........... see even if you have a bin alarm a guy always wants to push it a little further. :)
Have you considered how many bushels per acre you are losing with late harvest? I'm not sure these new hybrids are capable of standing like our hybrids of decades ago. We used to store corn in the big bin, the field.
IMO today's hybrids stand better but we plant narrower rows which makes them weak again. I plant DeKalb and Cropland and it's been years since I've had down corn on 30" rows. Boehm boys plant wide rows so should be less down corn but as it seems is their case, wet ground makes down corn again. Once they get to run some nice drained ground they'll never go back. Been there done that!
@@SilverGleaner I’m sure there’s many contributing facets to their operation that influence the timing of their harvest. Jacob, my opinion only, is in the process of changing a culture on their farm. He is doing it, I believe, out of necessity, but given his passion, my bet is on success.
OSU tried tile in our area. They had it 18 inches deep and 20 feet apart to make it drain, which just about impractical. So we hope the water just runs off.
I'm giving some lag time on price increase. We'll see what shakes out with the market. Because if I price hike a bunch now, customers will gripe when the market falls and I won't want to follow.
Speeds are all over. I know there’s guys with newer class 7’s running 8 row heads at 7+ in big open fields. I’m usually around 3.2-3.5. Have ran 4 flat in 160-170 bushel corn. Right around 200 I’m about that 3.2 mark if it’s under 18%.
Clinton county? How many counties do you farm? You have 5 nearby to choose from (Brown,Clermont,Clinton,Highland,Warren). My guess is 3. Thanks for the video.

Never operated a combin but, it looks to me there is a lot of movement in them . You are sawing the wheel a lot for rows to be on 30 + “ c/c. What is causing this to happen . Worn out steering parts or just the balance of the machine?

Let’s go gotta love nighttime harvest
It's nice that you're starting to share more videos.
Thanks for the night time ride Jacob.
We normally run 3.5 to 4 on our 9670sts with a 6 row, I know we could go faster but I never really like to rush it.
Great to see your equipment running good and the yield looking decent. Hope wanna be farmer is doing good as well. Have a great week.
You have a true classic farm my dude. I would love to work on a operation like that. :)

Good content sir. Corn should be plenty dry, makes harvest that much easier. Carry on👌

Having some fun!!
Really good yield.

Farm yea lol ...love the vids keep em up brother
We're on a roll now.
I thought the TR86 had a bigger bin than that? Does it have a bin full alarm? Beats the heck out of those TR70's........... especially the cab.
I don't have the extensions on. The extensions I had are over kill, and almost too tall to fit in the barn.

This stuff was standing well. I'll lose more $ paying for drying.

do you farm full time or have an off farm job too?
Wird der Mais bei euch erst jetzt gedroschen?🇩🇪
Do you have any equipment purchases planned for the coming year?
Nothing yet, really want to dump money into buildings.

Good deal. Where are you from?
Hello Boehm Farm Fans.....
Where is everyone? No wonder you seem to be last again picking corn.
What, you want to see Nick in squeezed into the cab too?
@@boehmfarm4276 NO SOMEONE SHOULD BE RUNNING CARTS SO YOU DON'T NEED TO DRIVE TO THEM
Some days, it's nice to be the only breaking stuff. I can hardly keep up with repairing after myself let alone having Nick break stuff for me too 🤣
Did your neighbor “wanna be farmer” get his beans cut? Thought I’d ask on your channel since he bought your old combine.
Shawn is close. Says he just had a few acres of wet spots left.
Talking to yourself cos the combine noise drowns you out.
Dosint look like your getting alot off snow there, good or bad?
I like winter but...
With the high prices of shelled corn how does that affect the prices of ear corn. Hope you have a great afternoon
When are you doing the burnout.. ??

Have you tested any corn for vomotoxin i live in clark county and its all over the board here worse up in Northern Ohio
Don't ask, don't tell, don't know don't care. Corn can't be washed clean and as long as it's not rotten black. Send it.
@@boehmfarm4276 well I think all elevators are testing for it now and if its over 10ppm they will reject it
That's why I love the almost local little elevator. I hauled some corn in for other folks this fall. Only test was moisture and test weight.

Um, I miss looking at the rice tires.

How is the skidsteer doing?
The fact of being an old gas caught up with it. Dad found a diesel to put in it. Add that to the repairs list.
