Tbh easy for us to say when we are not playing for a career and not in their shoes for risk of injury. Yes “you can get injured for anything everyday”, but the risk is higher, just not worth the risk. I get it, us as fans would want to see all the best in the league be competitive in an all out game, it would be epic, but sadly and the reality is its the truth
They should make the game a college all star game for NFL Scouts or give the players a list of eligible free agents and they can choose one at their position to play in the game. Overall I just want to see players go hard. That’s the only way I can think that they would be incentivized to actually play for real.

It seem the players that play now aren't as tuff as they use to be and are pampered more. It seems something like having a bruise keeps alot of players out for a game or two. Back in the good old days a players arm or leg could have puffed up to a pluses half it's normal size bigger and had no problem playing just as hard as they always had unlike what they do today.. Now they much more money than they ever had but cry because they have a bruise and won't play because they have a boo boo or a hang nail.... Just saying.
Yea that insight is interesting. But I think players have also learned to protect themselves more because one injury could ruin their whole career and these teams will easily throw them out. It's a balance.
40+ years, players had to get back on the field or stay in the game when slightly injured because that was the only way to keep earning their much smaller paychecks. Nowadays, most players already have hundreds of thousands of dollars in their bank account. That immediately reduces the incentive to play.
The final flag football game was actually very entertaining. The guys could actually put their all into it and have fun.

I know they moved it out before then, but Aloha Stadium is now closed up and isn’t suitable for use so it’ll be a long time before they can even consider moving the Pro Bowl back to Hawaii. Honestly the Pro Bowl should just be abolished.
I will miss it being in Hawaii. But as @trevinschaerr3732 said, it will be awhile before it goes back there.
The NFL Commissioner and team owners can grow some balls and tell these employees that is under contract and getting paid millions of dollars to get ready for one more game if you are not seriously injured. These guys are not slaves. They are employees, well paid employees. They sign a contract to trade their time and talent for money like every other person in this country.

The pro bowl means nothing, football is too taxing on the body to justify padding up and hitting in a meaningless game. Yes, they signed a contract, but they play one of the most violent sports on earth, with that in mind, you surely can understand why the players are hesitant to pad up and hit in the pro bowl.

@@synexthebarbarian8006 Actually, the pro bowl isn't a part of the players contracts, while players do get paid to play in the game, ($84,000 for the winners and $44,000 for the losers). It's not enough to justify risking injury in a game that ultimately means nothing.
Hated everything but the dodgeball. And they need to get that dodgeball judge and the real rules from Dodgeball. Let's get EA to sponsor the pro bowl and just go with a Madden 23 tournament among the players.

It seem the players that play now aren't as tuff as they use to be and are pampered more. It seems something like having a bruise keeps alot of players out for a game or two. Back in the good old days a players arm or leg could have puffed up to a pluses half it's normal size bigger and had no problem playing just as hard as they always had unlike what they do today.. Now they much more money than they ever had but cry because they have a bruise and won't play because they have a boo boo or a hang nail.... Just saying.
Yea that insight is interesting. But I think players have also learned to protect themselves more because one injury could ruin their whole career and these teams will easily throw them out. It's a balance.
40+ years, players had to get back on the field or stay in the game when slightly injured because that was the only way to keep earning their much smaller paychecks. Nowadays, most players already have hundreds of thousands of dollars in their bank account. That immediately reduces the incentive to play.
Basically what happens when you go from paying players the salary of a plumber to paying like they’re a throughbred or a foreign sportscar.

No I don't ever remember the Pro Bowl being competitive but of course I wasn't born in the 1940s.
