God i love when people depict finale Jon as eldritch in some way and this one with the wings and the shadows and the cryptid glowing eyes and then Martin running to him is just *chefs kiss*
I just noticed that the lyrics "When I'm ready I will fly us out of here" comes up during the worm conversation between Jon and Martin, and at the end Jon grows wings and kinda literally flies them out of here. That's amazing
Goodness, I'm a sucker for animation that matches to rhythmic beats, and this song is *perfect* for this show! The bit where it goes "get a load of this trainwreck" and Jon becomes the Pupil and Martin bursts in after him with the music as intense as it is? Gets me every time. Plus, you captured the spirit of Jon as he moves through the seasons; the skepticism of S1, the paranoia of S2, the terror of S3, the apathy of S4, the worry and almost derangement of S5, it's *so* good! I sincerely can't count how many times I've watched this already, this show means so much to me and to see it portrayed like this is phenomenal! Please keep creating, you've got something special here! 💖
Damn, I was not expecting this song to be a good fit for TMA but those lyrics literally describe the events of the scene three finally and perfectly captures the struggles with loneliness that Martin and John both have. Well done.
This is SO good. The animation is ON POINT--especially at the season 3 finale parts, your use of color is great, and how you keep switching between animation and stills and a combo of both is amazing!!! This is definitely one of my favorite TMA animatics!

i'm not familiar with the magnus archives story, but the unfinished characters in the "get a load of this monster" segment add to the animation, in my opinion. they make me feel an intense loneliness and social disconnect for the central character, like they can't feel connected to anyone, even through they're surrounded by people who are trying to reach out to them.

Conveyed this perfectly, and it adds a layer of angst to the Jonmartin kiss and stab being unfinished :,D just as things should be
He also feels a disconnect with his own life, but it’s a good kind, as indicated by the smile at the end, after he passes on.

okay i gotta say: the composition of this is absolutely gorgeous, with so many words lining up perfectly with the story (like "die" with tim's explosion followed directly by john's heartrate monitor, not the only one i noticed, but definitely the one that made me cry the most). i kept rewinding 2:23-2:31 because it was just so fluid and gorgeous to watch. (as well as the eye opening to "get a load of this monster," what beautiful animation work!) even unfinished, it is _so_ well made, with so many backgrounds and dedication put into it. I'm glad you decided to share this, I'm now gonna rewatch it and cry about it some more (also the moment i realised "home" meant specifically the song by cavetown, i _did_ start tearing up)
also the 'Love' in "I cannt fall in love" lining up with martin's appearance (:

I know this was posted 2 years ago but I’d just like to say that this is incredible and if you still read these comments I’d love to see it completed.
It's such a little thing, but the way the music lined up with the push pins in the conspiracy board just zing up my spine. There's a dozen moments where the music and the animation synch up and just sucker punch me, the heart monitor, the eyes popping open at 2:50. Damn, just, Damn! this is so freaking good!!
This is my comfort animatic. All of the frames match with not only the song but give nods to the story. The transitions are amazing. There are no words that could describe how I feel about this animatic.
The ending of TMA hurt my soul. It made me so incredibly sad. It was such a great show but it made me *so sad*
It’s pieces like this, pieces that take me once again trough the rolecoaster of emotions that this show put me trough that help me relive it and revel it it’s most comforting and painful moments. I take great joy in the fan content. And I feel great pride joining this fandom.
I just finished Magnus yesterday, and I put off waching this because of spoilers till now, but my god this is brilliant. I'm just started to cry in front of my cereal. I have no words to express how much I like this video.

This is hands down the best and most captivating animatic I've EVER seen. So smooth and fluid! And the color use! I am in love with the color use. I found this earlier today and I just watched it for the fifth time. I keep returning to it, even though I don't dare to watch past the coffin part, as I still have not finished season 4 of the show. However, the part that absolutely blew my mind was the fact that JON PUTS HIS GLASSES NEXT TO HIMSELF ON THE DESK WHEN HE FALLS ASLEEP ON IT. And then he reaches to pick them up. That little detail broke me. The fluidity. The realism. How achingly human he is in those seconds. Such a clever way to create more movement. I barely remember to take my own glasses off before taking a depression nap on my desk let alone my character's. Amazing.
Haven't even started The Magnus Archives (yet) but even without context, this video is so powerful. Animations are stunning and so expressive and the transitions are masterful and it all matches the song as if the two were made for one another. Got blurry-eyed at the end and I don't even really know what's going on! I think what I'm trying to say is thank you for this wonderful piece of art

Holy shit…. This is absolutely the most beautifully and heart breaking animation I have seen for tma, hell maybe even ever. The amount of detail and love you have put into every second of this pmv is fucking phenomenal! The panels showing Jon in every domain was one of my favorite parts, you have so much skill and talent, I am genuinely in tears at how incredible this is!

Saw the GIFs on tumblr n went running to see this. God, I remember your domain fanarts and they were absolutely stunning, seeing them in the animation makes them look even better. Can´t even think on how long this must have taken you to create. Your animations are beautiful, so well timed, beautifully colored and??? This whole animation is breathtaking. I´m enamoured with the Jon in a coma scene, visually it looks gorgeous! Honestly I can´t pic another fav part, I love all of it. I didn't realize those pieces you had posted on tumblr were wips of this!! seeing all the jons in domains at 2:54 was such a delightful treat!! very neat to see how those tied into the song as a whole.
anyway! this was. absolutely incredible. your editing is utterly flawless, that transition from the unknowing explosion to jon's heart rate monitor drove me a special kind of insane. and I don't know what it is about the composition from 1:55 to 2:05, but I'm obsessed with it. it's haunting. plus the eye opening animation paralleling the first shot, now with inhuman pupils, directly afterwards? god, that's great.
and that bit with the cut from the apocalypse in the safehouse to the flashback in 161 was so clean and perfect, I cannot stop watching that bit. not to mention the heartrending lines you paired with that bit, haha. and i would be loath to NOT mention the eye wings jon's sporting at 3:25!! always a sucker for those.
this as a whole is just. wow. I think I'm going to find something new I love every time I watch this. wonderful, wonderful work.

I love the detail that the scar on Jon's hand is in the shape of another hand. I usually see artists just make it a messy scar like he stuck it into a fire (which is a perfectly fine version) but I really like your interpretation of it

Wow this is amazing! Some of your frames are just visually stunning! Personal favorites at 0:20 with the great expression work and the flashing light, 2:44 with the great lighting (also ow my heart), and 2:54-2:55 with the slaughter and desolation domains because HOLY COW these are like full art pieces not something you usually find in a pmv. The transition at 1:51 was so freaking smooth. Great job. This is definitely something to be proud of. Thanks for gifting the community with this

This was so unbelievably fantastic! I love the colors you use, the character designs, and the composition of the whole video. And the way that the words match what's happening in the video too!!! I feel so emotional just watching this, even when it's unfinished, and just relishing in all the little moments you included. I also think the heartrate monitor split screen was SO creative, I haven't seen anything like that before! You really captured the heart of all the characters, especially how Jon is through each season. I'm in love with this and I really cannot wait to see it finished!

oh this might be my favorite take on jon's ascension; the semi-real eyeball wings and the static green eyes-even the suspension in one massive eye within the tower itself-this almost feels like it's from jon's perspective. walking the wasteland, technically not alone but still somehow isolated from martin, and skipping over the tunnels because (at least to him) they were an insignificant part in the final decision.
also the animation parts in this are so smooth and pretty
I've watched this countless times and I love it more each time, but I just realized today in the scene with Jon in the coma, when Martin leaves, the Green Jon cries. SUCH an amazing touch!
Holly shit- you're a goddamn amazing artist and animater. This was truly something beautiful and honestly didn't expect the storyboards to work so well for the unfinished bits as much as it did- it gave it a real sense of urgency towards the end as Jon was somewhat loosing himself and the hope to fix the world towards the end of the story.
I feel like words cannt describe the sheer amount of FEELINGS that this animation made me feel - so I just want to thank you for putting bi flag colors on background in the moment of Tim's death.
This whole thing made me cry - but those are good tears.

This made my heart hurt in the best way possible, I don't think any animatic has ever made me feel this emotional before jakdkakskaksks
I don't know what I can say that hasn't been said yet but this is so good it actually made me cry.
Somehow you managed to fit the whole TMA emotional rollercoaster and all the plot beats into 4 minutes and 33 seconds and do so beautifully. You matched the beats of the story to the song perfectly and despite not crying during the actual episode seeing Tim hit the switch in the unknowing felt like a gut punch I'm never going to recover from (in the best way possible). You also nailed the colour schemes they all felt cohesive but distinct enough that you could tell the difference in environments, I was a particular fan of the unknowing and the lonely. The bit where all the eyes opened at the start of s5 gave me chills and the last bit where Jon goes back to his s1 look and smiled before turning back around is what really brought out the tears.
I think I just want a happy end so bad lol
(Also the way you drew Nikola O at 1:40 I really love it? You really feel the stranger(-ness?) in her design and it felt like she was looking at *me* which was a bit unsettling and totally fit the wonky vibes of the unknowing.)
I think I could write a whole essay about my feelings about this if I was given the chance so just thank you for making this I'm looking forward to rewatching it when I get myself together again haha
this is SO PRETTY i just finished tma and this video is helping me cope so hard. I wish I was a fan last summer when the fandom was super active but im so glad to have content like this
This is truly a masterpiece. The way everything flows together is great, I love how many details were added, the hallway scene was a great way of showing many events and my fav moment was the one of Jon sitting at a table throughout many moments in his life.
