Thanks for a great tutorial! Do you know if the approach is similar with the iPad 2018? I have just switched out the glass+digitizer after a cracked screen but now after reassembling it I get a dead spot in the same area as in you video? Can it be remedied in any other way, like pressing on the area connecting the pins or something...? Please help?
@@charukadewasurendra3347 Yea, it was that the connector for the digitizer wasn't connected properly. So I disconnected and connected again, more thoroughly, and then it worked
I had same issue. I cleaned the connectors on my 2018 ipad6 with 99% alchohol. And tada, the whole screen worked again:). It is the connectors that are not clean or in place.
@@TheVolcomDust I realize your comment is like 2 years old but I have to thank you for posting it. Having just replaced my iPad battery and screen I lost half of the touch functionality, your comment lead me to check the cable connection and the dam thing was a little loose. Thanks because I would have assumed the screen I bought was junk otherwise..
I had dead spots at pretty much the exact same location on an iPad 2018 after a glass/digitizer replacement. Thought either that the new wan was faulty or that the connectors were fried. I also tried with a multimeter and found that two edge pins on the large connector didn't show any resistance, and thought for sure that the iPad was faulty. So I wiggled the pins SLIGHTLY and put the cables back and thought I could take it to an authorized repairer. But then, 3d or 4th time putting it back together it all worked! Maybe it was the wiggle, or maybe I got the cables on more correctly than previous, either way very happy about it.
hi sir, i've recently changed my ipad's touchscreen (same model of ipad) and i have exactly the same dead spots. my best bet is, the repairer didnt do a good job while installing the screen, maybe the same case as yours. could you please tell me what you did to fix the problem? i would appreciate it very much! you can contact me @bryansoon2001@gmail.com, thank you sir !
@@fomor1974 The connectors for the digitizer are really tricky to get right. Think there are about 86 pins between the two that has to line up correctly. Disconnecting and connecting the digitizer cables is fairly easy, but you have to remove the LCD connection to reach them, and before disconnecting the LCD you should disconnect the battery, which I found quite hard the first time, feels like you're about to break it cause you really need to jam a pick (or similar) in there to disconnect the pools. Not to mention before doing any of this you have to disassemble the iPad, removing the glass using suction cup, heat gun and plastic tools to pry it open. My glass was already broken when doing this and by the end it was in pieces. Guess you could take it back to the repairer and argue that the digitizer isn't connected properly and you want to be refunded.
Hey, hows the ipad holding up. have the same issue with mine, fell and screen broke, after replacement, got two dead spots, sent it back to the repair center and nothing, though the new screen works on other ipads so i'm guessing my connections are messed up too.
Hi @Rewatechnology My Ipad Air 3 Touch works preety well at Times and At times part of the touch get stuck/Froze for a few seconds What do u think could be the issue
What if my normal levels when I check on diode mode are all higher than 690 in J6620 and grounding (715 in my case) and none of them seem to be way off from that level J6640 and grounding levels are all between 498-501, is that normal also?
This is literly what happen to my ipad the problem is i dont have that many tools Is it possible to share this video to apple so they can fix it One more question when you fix your ipad it will reset all your apps photos or not pls tell me
I am afraid Apple won't do that. But you can find a local third-party repair shop to do that for you. For your question, all the data and APPs would be the same. It won't reset if it's the same problem and the same repairing process.
@@Robert-xo3er I have the facilities and can otherwise buy it for a reasonable price, but I dont trust myself 😂 But on the other hand, Apple is not gonna fix it for me anyways for cheap, because my warranty expired years ago and my iPad doesn't work now anyways, so what can I lose 😂
REWA Technology I wonder , was the original digitazer tested after replacing the chip? Or could it be risky to use it, could it be the reason for the malfunction ? Just curious :)
The touch screen digitizer (white) we installed and tested at last was the original one. At 2:17, another touch screen digitizer was applied to test if the issue was caused by the digitizer.
I am also having problems with my touch in air 3... partially touch freezes for 5 to 10 sec after that it works fine for sometimes....but it happens again and again
Hi, have Ipad 4 and Digitizer almost no response. No damaged but swapped out with new one and same . 99% not responsive and if i rub the screen sometimes it will start working for a few secs and then not . Looked at logic board close up and no obvious damage to components and also reinstalled OS a couple or times and deleted and installed ext in case that was the issue. The black touch filters might be bad but that would stop totally touch? i also pressed down on connector in case that had bad pins/ solder but nothing, I have the Ipad 4 schematics so where should i look at on LB? Thanks for any help..

Try to measure the diode values of the touch connector. If the values are abnormal, you need to replace the touch IC.
@@rewatechnology2008 Hi, did that to the socket pads - to ground and got all .665 roughly or ground so thats seems ok.
