    When you said "if the power button doesn't feel right, get a different case" i instinctively pressed mine and turned off my computer like a dummy. On the plus side, the Fractal R5 button is pretty good

    Thanks to my mother, I'm a perfectionist. So I really appreciate your attention to detail regarding the wiring. I've been building misc. things for fifteen years and I've seen a lot of crap. Whether I'm plumbing a fuel system in a vehicle, wiring up an amp/subwoofers in a car, or building a computer, I've always paid much attention to the aesthetics of the wiring, as it is often overlooked. The first car I ever purchased when I was sixteen years old was a street legal drag car and the dude who built it only had horsepower in mind... so the wiring was an absolute mess - even dangerous is some places, I.E. positive wire for the battery running within inches of flammable areas and moving parts. So I definitely dig your effort in making it look just as good as it performs. This build was nuts... those graphics cards are ridiculous. I thought I was cool w/ my 2GB GeForce GTX 650 and 16GB of RAM. :(

      thanks for your comment, wiring is quite important to me, even if nobody sees it, do not worry i only have GTX560

    Dmitri, since you're talented with computers, why don't you be the first ASMR person to make a 4K, 7.1 surround sound, smooth framerate ASMR video. With this rig, rendering that should be a piece of cake.

    • @DmitriTechMech
      @DmitriTechMech  10 років тому +36

      It is the equipment that is needed to record at 4K, the computer is only part of the process. Recording like this requires very expensive equipment & youtube uploads my audio at 192kbs :(
      I would love to be able to create this type of content, but your right rendering would be so nice with this system, but i do not own it.

    • @mouse7327
      @mouse7327 10 років тому +2

      DmitriTechMech I realized that after I wrote that, lol. Would be awesome though, maybe in the future when the equipment is more easily accesible and YT has more video and audio features.

      There are things that give your monitor 4k without buying a 4K monitor. I applied one to my 2004 Dell Monitor which runs at 1080P, but can somehow support 4K pixels with this little thing

    • @xXtuscanator22Xx
      @xXtuscanator22Xx 10 років тому +1

      Well first your computer has to be capable of 4K resolution. Also 7.1 surround sound is pretty good not great but still REALLY good and smooth framerate ehhh all depends on the computer and yes rendering for him easy rendering for us not so easy

  • @Arkalius80
    @Arkalius80 10 років тому +6

    Cool video, great idea. At 33 years old, I've personally never owned a desktop computer I didn't build myself, and only recently built a new one. It's a fair bit of work but very satisfying when you know the computer you're using is built from scratch by your own hand.

    That is one hell of a cable hiding job and seeing the effort put into it makes me both ashamed of the sloppy job I did building my own and wish my case was built better for hiding them. When I decide to replace the case I have now, I'll be taking that into heavier consideration, and if I upgrade in the same case (it's a second gen i7, so it hasn't really needed an upgrade for a few years) I'm going to put some serious effort into making the build as clean as possible. A power supply with modular cables will probably help a lot with that.

      Btw i didn't notice any part of you putting the thermal paste on top of the processor :O Didn't you use it? The cpu would get dangerously hot like immediately if you didn't use it

    • @DmitriTechMech
      @DmitriTechMech  10 років тому +1

      33ro0
      there is thermal paste already on water cooling CPU block, so no you didnt see me put any one but yes there was some on it. I find thermal paste needed to renewed every 2-3 years for hot running system like old P4, Socket 1366 i7 CPU or overclocked systems.

Not the newest shit i know but why do i need a 3080ti for a bit of League of legends, MW3, BO2, a bit of Overwatch, WarCraft 3, WoW in the future & stuff ? Most games i play are older and besides the fact that i cant afford a 3080 xD

    Dimitri, I'm not trying to sink your boat but you completely forgot to apply thermal compound to CPU. You even forgot to peel off the sticky protective "sticker" on the water block. The CPU most likely won't fail without thermal compound, at least not with over-clocking, but it will raise the average temperature of the processor, possibly shortening its life span.

    Most Sata power leads use self crimping connectors. It's a piece of piss to move the connectors up and down the cable - no extreme bends or mess of cable. Proper system builders all make custom length cables, the tools only cost a few dollars.

    If you don't mind me asking. You said in your video that at work you like to put the screws in a bucket. Where do you work? Or what type of work is it?

    I'm building my first pc soon and this is making me nervous how careful you have to be D:

      Honestly, just get a static free area to build the PC in, and dont be harsh with anything, it'll go fine. The only thing i think needs force to go in are those 4 pin molex connectors and that 12 pin connector, really.

    Dmitri, what's your opinion concerning the Corsair case in your video? Have you ever assembled a system using NZXT's Phantom? I'm torn between the Phantom and the 760T

    I need help! Which one should i buy?
    1.
    - Intel Core i7 4770 3.4 GHz Quad-Core (Haswell)
    - 8 gb RAM
    - GTX 770 2gb
    - Motherboard is Intel H87 mATX
    2.
    - Intel Core i5 4690K 3.4 GHz
    - GTX 760 2gb
    - 8 gb RAM
    - Mother board is Intel Z97
    Those specs are from complete computers so i can't change anything before buying.... So i ask for an honest opinion, which one should i take? :) The first one is about 100€ more expensive but is it worth it? And if it helps, I want to play Battlefield 4 on that new computer :) Sorry for my bad English and greetings from Finland! :)

      If it was for my customer
      Either i7 4790 or i5 4590
      Asus H97M-Plus or Z97 board
      8GB Kingston 1600Mhz Value Ram
      Intel 530 series SSD you better get one of these or D-Man will be angry
      Asus GTX760 or 770
      Antec 550 True Power Classic (get this power supply)
      If i sell all my PC the same less trouble changing hardware when something fails
      EVERYONE please remember you will have your own preferences on brand and hardware. This is a common combo i will use that works well for me.

      The old PowerPC's used to do that, nowhere near as cool as that case though.

    well, unfortunately i have to wait a while before i can get my hands on a build like this. i guess my Inspiron 580 with 8GB Ram, GTX 750Ti 2GB, 450W PSU has to hold out for a while longer! XD
