Another unique thing about Yunchan’s style is how every gesture becomes a part of the music he plays, organically intertwined with the notes and natural… 20:43 hair, and how his left hand lands on the top of the piano 22:39 and softly falls to the keyboard
This is even more impressive than his transcendental etudes to me. Artistry at the highest level.

16 anni.... ma chi suona questo a 16 anni? E dove? Con questa espressione, possibile solo se si è in possesso di una tecnica magistrale. Altrimenti è come un pittore che non sa usare i colori, o, pere andare ad un esempio più popolare, come un calciatore che si è allenato male. Yunchan, come dice la Decca, non salta e non sbaglia una nota. Questa è la dase dalla quale parte per dare senso musicale alle sue performance meravigliose, alla ricchezza dei colori che dona alle sue esecuzioni. Grazie Yunchan. Il mondo ti ama ❤ ❤
OMFG....having viewed this performance-this spectacular performance....leaves me not only speechless, but breathless. So many times in my life I've wondered what it would be like to have heard Liszt perform one of his masterpieces, but now I'm pretty sure I know! WOW! Can anyone actually believe the audience -having witnessed this live performance- didn't even give him a standing? Well, mute point I guess because thank God, it was recorded w/video. What a treasure for the world!

Apart from the incredible brilliance, sensitivity and emotional truthfulness of this astonishing young man's playing, the fact that he pays such careful attention to the relationship of each piece to the preceding and following one shows that he truly understands Liszt, the master of the segue, who could weld seemingly disparate parts into a profoundly satisfying whole. Rare at any age, astonishing in one so young!
Yeah, his pauses and pacing seem so right. In the other pieces he plays too. Even when the same piece is not being played at the same pace. It's all part of understanding the whole and 'improvising', isn't it?

I can't stop watching and listening to this young master. He is playing with sooo much emotion. It evokes all sorts of emotions. It is almost as if I can travel with him to wherever he is whilst playing. What a gifted musician. Such a privilege to hear him play.

Just spent a day walking around Rome today in beautiful weather listening to Yunchan’s Years of Pilgrimage: Italy. It is absolutely surreal - I felt removed from reality, like I was living in a painting or a time in the past long forgotten. His music made me appreciate Italy through the eyes of Liszt, every ray of sunlight hitting the frescoes, every stone pine that sways in the wind, every detail in the artworks of past masters. Thank you, Yunchan for bringing such beautiful music to my ears that both heals the soul and makes me think how wonderful it is to be alive and enjoying all life’s wonders!

It is all amazing but 41:29 to 42:23 is my favorite section. I have never heard a piano sound so lyrical and imaginative, I could write a movie scene to that section of music. Wow.

His professor said that to fully understand this piece, little Yunchan read Dante's Divine comedy countless times and searrched and watched all documentaries of Goethe.
+ Yunchan said in an interview that though he lives in this 21th century, his mind is living in 19th with the great men of that time.
He said his purpose of playing the piano is to express the pain deep inside us and to heal people, again with music.
"Music (played by me) can't deceive so I always try to have a genuinely compassionate and understanding heart toward human beings and the world."
He is inspired from lots of old literatures and everyday incidents. For example he read Divine Comedy of Dante countless times to play a piece of Liszt.
Also he often deliverately cuts himself from modern things or social media to fully interact with the original composer and his intent, and be immersed in the music itself. He said there's a magma-like singing inside him but to perfectly express that beauty of the song he needs to struggle, study, think a lot, and practice sometimes overnight, go beyond the skills to the realm of pure art..
Wow! I shall follow his journey as a listener for years to come.🙏

His cantabile demonstrates his clear and unequivocal understanding of J.S.Bachs preface to the Sinfonias. Due diligence done. Liszt is the better for Lim's devotion and perseverance........

Безошибочное чувство материала и его развития. Природа ведет его по устью музыкальной реки все дальше и нас погружает в волшебный сон ,в нескончаемый поток воображения. И забываешь о молоточках,об инструменте. Только звуки,вибрации,кульминации и их исчезновения.
Некого сравнить с ним. И это в 16 лет. Только бы это осталось с ним и дальше. Не дай Бог вмешаться кому бы то ни было!!!❤❤❤
Dearest svetlana, i cried i read all Dante, petrarca, this young boy made me cry and i am not young! Hated my parents who forced me to read those boring books ,now they are gone to heaven and i am eternally grateful!!! This young boy ouanist read all pertrarca, divine comedy over and over more than 10 times he can almost recite all the verses... he said he wanted composers intentions!!!! Love him and his shyness and humbleness..❤❤❤ i am wt ur opinion and visions on this young pianist!!

This work was quite new to me and initially it sounded nothing like Liszt's usual approaches-somewhat Debussy-like, however as it progressed it became more and more complex (typical Liszt) and so very beautiful. Thank you 16 year-old ? Yunchan-what a glorious work and how beautifully you performed it here. It was easily as technically demanding as any of the Transcendental Etudes.

It's wonderful to see these older recordings by this young genius starting to be recognized. I believe he was 15 here, and his performance here is simply astonishing, especially of the Dante Sonata.

하얀 도화지에 붓으로 투명한 수채화를 그려서 푸른 하늘과 웅장한 고대유물과 바람에 흔들리는 나뭇잎까지 마치 풍경이 눈앞에 보이는듯합니다.
리스트가 아름답다고 느낀적이 한번도 없었는데 초절기교도 그렇고 임윤찬이 연주하는 리스트는 곡마다 웰케 아름다운거야 ~
저 역시 리스트 또는 기교가 많은 피아노의 곡에서 깊은 감동을 받기는 처음입니다. 푹 빠져 못나오고 있어요~^
조성진도 잘하지만 임윤찬군 나이에 이만큼 치지는 못했죠
윤찬군은 좋은 스승을 일찍 만났고 조성진군의 프랑스 스승은 성진군이 프랑스 와서 많이 성장했다고 했음. 파워는 윤찬군이 조금더 있는듯.성진군 베피협 5번의 경우 쇼콩끝난후 협연 같은데 가끔은 피아노 소리가 오케에 묻히는 곳이 있었는데 ( 물론 음향탓도 있을수 있지만) 몇년뒤 베피협 5번에선 훨씬 파워가 좋아져 피아노 소리가 오케에 안 묻혔음. 윤찬군은 피아노 소리가 오케에 묻히지 않고 뚫고 나옴.리스트 안좋아했는데 윤찬군 땜시 리스트 듣고있음. 윤찬군 연주는 명료하다. 다른 연주자 초절기교는 끝까지 들은적 없음 ㅋ 윤찬군거는 동영상 보면 볼수록 더 놀라게 됨 ㅋ
@@lovelykim5687 전 임윤찬 피아니스트 팬이지만 이런 비교는 안 하셨으면 좋겠습니다ㅠㅠㅋㅋ 특히 조성진 피아니스트는 어릴 때부터 워낙 완성형으로 유명하기도 해서...15세에 하마마츠 콩쿨 우승했는데 지금까지도 하마마츠에서 동양인 우승은 조성진밖에 없을 정도니까요 그땐 프랑스 유학 전이었고....뭐 지금 시점에서 누굴 더 선호할 순 있겠지만 조성진 피아니스트는 막 점점 테크닉 같은 게 늘었다기보단 워낙 일찍부터 그런 건 완성이 된 이미지가 저한텐 강하더라고요 프랑스에서 늘었다는 것도 뭐 연주자로서의 다른 부분이지 않을까 싶은

모든 영상에 윤찬님 이름을 영어로도 표기 하면 좋을텐데
세월이 흐르는 만큼 그의 음악은 깊어지겠지만, 나는 2020년 17세의 이 버젼을 그리워할 것이다.
들을수록 중독된다. 100번쯤 듣고나니 내 영혼도 같이 빠져드는 신기한 경험. 얼마나 음악을 사랑하고 많은 시간을 몰입하고 연습해야 저런 경지에 이를지 정말 존경하는 마음이 솟구친다. 내인생 첨으로 진짜를 만났다.
네 이건 단지 피아노 연주가 아닙니다. 저는 클래식음악을 잘 모릅니다. 음악시간에 감상시험보기위해 열심히 듣고 외웠고
학생시절 신촌에 바로크음악다방에서 듣던 바로크음악들 들으며 커피 마시던 정도~~
헌데 윤찬군의 연주는 봐야만 합니다. 오감으로 전해지기때문이죠. 그리고 지루할새없는 이유는 단지 연주가 아닌 이유는 깊은곳에 숨겨뒀던 참고참고 꼭꼭 닫아뒀던 슬픔을 터치해주기 때문입니다. 감당하기 어려운 일을 겪으면 일이년을 슬퍼하다 다짐을 하고 이를 꽉 깨물고 살게 됩니다. 그러면서 치유와 회복, 화해를 포기해 버렸던 그 때의 감정으로 돌아가게 해주는 이 선율은 뭔가요~~
윤찬군은 화해의 음악가입니다. 시간을 넘어 그 누군가, 그 무엇과의 화해를 이끌어 줍니다.
17 세에 벌써 대가로 다른 말이 필요 없네요. 이 영상을 보면서 재능도 타고났지만 연습한 량을 생각하면 겸손한 마음이 저절로 듭니다.

어제 피아노도 흔들리고 무대도 흔들리고 바닥도 흔들리고 그곳에 모인 사람들의 삶도 흔들렸죠
해석의 차이는 있지만 이렇게라도 복기할 수 있는 연주 영상이 있어서 기쁘고 행복합니다

41:59 이부분 선율이 마음속에서 떠나질 않네요 매일 들으러옵니다.리사이틀 내내 윤찬님이 피아노에 집중하는 얼굴을 마주보고 보고 듣고 있어서 너무너무 행복하고 꿈만 같았네요.음악에 온전히 집중하는 모습에 경의의 박수를 보냅니다.몰입이란 책이 있던데 윤찬님을 두고 말하는 것 하는거 같네요. 24시간 내내 몰입해서 10년동안 피아노에 온전히 집중하고 고뇌한 결실이라고 봅니다.그동안 피나는 노력과 음악에 대한 사랑으로 지금의 윤찬님이 있기에 음악을 통해 전달되어 다들 이렇게 윤찬님을 좋아하게 된거 같네요
