CAN bit timing is divided into four segments, they are Sync segment, propagation segment, phase buffer segment - 1, phase buffer segment - 2.
These segments are constructed by time quanta aka time quantum aka TQ.
Time Quanta is explained with example. Each Bit Timing Segment is made up of integer units of time called Time Quanta (TQ). The TQ time can be configured to different times. The Baud Rate Prescaler (BRP) modifies the TQ time. Bit Time can range from 4 to 385 TQ . The Range varies for each Microcontroller.
