Holy shit! This is great! Lots of shots that are pretty believable. What camera did you use? Wonder if you can change shutter to 1/48 and keep it on 24fps for most realistic image. This wasn't an app I take it, just using a plug in in Resolve? Which one?
The camera was an iPhone 7 using the filmic pro app to get a higher bitrate and manual control like turning off stabilization. I left it on auto exposure so the shutter is variable. Everything was graded using an early version of my CinePrint16 powergrade for Resolve. More info about the final version is on my website tombolles.net/cineprint16
As I've already mentioned in my other comment, this grading is super awesome! I have a few questions regarding the grading, I would appreciate if you can answer them: 1. Why on a first step you converted original footage to Arri LogC? 2. What is Color Matrix? 3. What is Matrix Adjustment?
Using a Color Space Transform to convert input footage to another color space helps standardize my grading process, so I can apply my film emulation easily to any camera/profile. A color matrix is a 3x3 matrix multiplication applied to the RGB channels and I make adjustments to that for different looks. For more info check out my videos on my CinePrint16 film emulation which is a more recent, improved version of the grade in this video.
Still too sharp for super 8 need more blur . Also halliation is too much. And the auto brightness adjust of the phone gives it away too..... Otherwise good. :-p
This is so cool! You really nailed the 8mm look here. I appreciated the whole "home movie" vibe to this, it wasn't too long and entertaining to watch.
Thanks! Glad you liked it :)
you snapped. im speechless. i cant even put into words to describe what i just witnessed you doing with color.
This looks really sick! This effect works well for a music video or montage. I love this!
Just found this, Great work!!!

damn this looks amazing, but we need city night scenes or indoors.

Is the frame rate really 24fps?
Hey do you convert to arri log? what do you use as the input format/codec/log?
Colorspace transform with input gamma and color space set to Rec. 709
