    Incredible video. This was on my short list of like four videos I use to set up my RGB 30. I went with felt on the buttons themselves instead of inside the case. It only required one layer for me and now the buttons are nice and tight. No play on the z-axis. Thanks for the incredible video and guide. Everything else about this device already felt premium to me so now the whole thing is just a dream.

    Awesome easy mod! Thanks for sharing!
    To me the dpad is a bit hard to hit the diagonals. Almost like the center pivot isn't tall enough. The pads on the PCB might be too large and too easy to hit too. Ideally the footprints should look like what's on the GBA dpad PCB I think.

    • @JoeBleeps
      @JoeBleeps  11 місяців тому +1

      I'll investigate that, haven't had any issues so far but maybe I've not played many games needing diagonal inputs yet. I was thinking of maybe a thin 3d printed layer to go between the ABXY and the shell, perhaps the same for the d pad. These shoulder buttons are so much better now.

    Another method to get rid of the shoulder button rattle is to just lightly "lube" the button hinge stems, no felt needed. I just did this in my RGB30 and it works great. I used a very light application of petroleum jelly (vaseline).

    You want felt tape to stop rattles, or lithium grease, and you can add a rumble motor too, there are pads to solder to.
    You wont find a higher capacity battery because theyre not UL listed neither are they deemed to be safe, they swell up and explode. for more power you need to use 2 smaller 3.6v batteries in parallel

      What have you done with the battery issue?

    • @metreilly
      @metreilly 5 місяців тому +1

      @@clone-2322 This is simply a case of disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and reconnecting again. The calibration of the actual battery percentage to the on screen battery percentage display is corrected. Without that, some devices will display say 50% charge but they may actually be down at 10%. I'm assuming the charge conditioning circuit on the battery pack is getting confused with some voltage leakage or parasitics giving inaccurate charge state. It fixed my problem anyway. Not sure of the route cause and whether it would return but an easy correction in future if needed.
