So basically this pedal allows me to make my PJ passive bass a (very) active bass with many more controls...going to go buy one now!
This video clarifies many things!
I wish I had watched your demo first, I would have saved a bunch of time! Great job on displaying the versatility of this pedal!
My band went to a good studio to record a demo album, a studio that had done national bands, I had a Hartke stack, the best one they make and it sounded great, I was about to bring it in and set it up and the producer asked if I would try this first, he said alot of bass players really liked it so I did and it sounded so good that I used it for the whole album.
Another hit from Tech21.
I just got the RBI rack mount which is supposed to be this pedal from what I saw , the one thing that's different is when you run it through an actual bass rig it changes a bit from what you hear on a direct recording video on UA-cam
The pedal version always has cab sim on, the RBI does not. Also on the pedal version (the earlier two incarnations without a Mid control) had the mids centered at 750Hz, with about -6dB when 'flat'. Also, I believe the earlier Bass Driver had the Lows centered at 40Hz, while the RBI has them centered at 80Hz, if memory serves (that's why the new Bass Driver has the Bass Freq switch).
I just purchased one, cant wait to get to set up my sound mainly for classic rock
I like your tone! Fender Jazz, no wonder! : )
Great demo
Damn! That was very helpful! Probably the most comprehesive demo of the pedal.
Could you, by any chance, do something similar with the Le Bass premp? I am struggling to decide between the two.
Either way, i am really digging your content! Keep it up! :)
Oh man! It would mean so much to me, since i can't try one. No one has it around here.
I was wondering , can it get any close to the B3k? Also it would be intresting to hear the Cold Fushion, Clean Channel A with Bass boost and Channel B with a lot of Gain, Bass cut and High mids/Treble boost). Does it get a Dug pinnick tone?
Cheers!
How to do a demo. Great! Thank you!
Dumb question but was the bi passed tone the Sans Amp D.I. only
Great thanks
Can I stack this pedal's drive and amp's drive to get a heavier tone? Or it would sound muddy?
A youtuber called "chris khalife" who makes bass covers and things like that made a video called "overdrive shootout", there he plays same od pedals with the sansamp engaged.
Its not the drive of a amp but something like that.
If you don't want to spend time with watching the video: it doesen't get too muddy
Hellyeah I like the sound effects and different tones to choose from, must need this pedal.
I have the SVT Simulator Version of this driver
Should this go after the tuner in the pedal chain?
I think there is no correct answer.
but I like the first position of them because I can feel picking nuance naturally. thank you!
Flat?! This pedal sounds THAT good FLAT?!
There is a reason they are so popular. Its an excellent preamp/DI that makes any bass and amp sound much better.
Can i use this with an active bass???
Andrés Osorno I use this with Sadowsky MV5 and it sounds good!
Please check my cover videos.
saddeathcore Nice covers dude!!! I'm gonna give it a try one of these days.
In my instructions it says you can but recommendeds you leave the EQ on the instrument flat.
Does it has compressor?
yes, it does! according to the manual, "Compressors or limiters may not be necessary. Our unique circuitry emulates the warm, natural, gentle compression of tubes. This limits transient peaks for an even meter reading, so that outboard units typically are not needed."
ItS even more scooped than the older version... wow. sucks Bass sounds best without the Sans amp
You can make it more scooped than the old version, but when set with all controls at noon the newer version has less of a mid scoop. Alsoyou can bring the mids up, unlike the old version.
That's one of the few OD pedals that actually improves the sound.
