@@Bampiss so when AMC demanded 13 episodes for season 2 instead of 6, the source material didn’t have enough content to fill the whole season, so Darabont planned to veer away from the comics and then come back to it. He wanted to have prequel episodes about Andrea, Amy, and Dale during the initial outbreak, so it could further explain why he had such a bond with her. Also, an episode where the story follows a soldier who is later revealed to be that same walker that Rick finds dead inside the tank from the first episode, and why there was a grenade beside him in the first place. They were gonna tell the history of that soldier and that grenade and why they got there which would later be used by Rick to break out of the CDC. That was all intentional set up for a future episode that never even ended up getting made... why? Because AMC wanted to save money.

As a writer I totally agree and think about that all the time. Reality is a scary place and we should be happy that fantasy is fake, the real world is bad enough as it is.

I love Eugene and Abraham because they spoke differently which intrigued me. No one should threaten any of these actors. They have to be insane to think that characters are real.
If an actor can make you hate the character so much you hate the person playing them they really did do a good job I mean in all honesty Eugene did pull through in the end
It's also a dangerous thing carrer wise because the character can stick to the actor so bad that it can make it difficult to get any role, kind of like Jack Gleeson as King Joffrey or Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter.
A lot of people don’t like Jon Bernthal. But he plays the part well of a badass with a attitude and people hate him for it. Joe Pesci is another one, a lot can not stand him but he does one hell of a job
i liked him from the moment he was introduced. he was just such an odd person, smart but inexperienced, capable in his own way, but useless in a standard fight. I liked how he asked Tara about what games she played.
@@joshuastevens5910 oh the thing about Bernthal is that no one else could've done shane walsh. You forgot to mention Laurie Holden got death threats back in the day because of that chupacabra episode where she shot Daryl. People are crazy and really need to distinguish a show from reality.
Very true. I remember the actor playing Father Gabriel said people would queue up at Comic Con events just to tell him they hated him. Madness. The actor himself is funny.
It's understandable why they killed Andrea, she was just the worst. Which is a pity, because in the comics, she was one of the best, was super bummed about her death...on the show I breathed a sigh of relief.
I can see why Steven Yeun was frustrated. He was a good actor and loved by fans. Despite that during the break between seasons 5/6 he said he was the only cast member who didn’t get any offers to do any independent films, pilots, films, etc. I also felt like his character was the least developed out of all the main cast in the first 5 seasons. Very little backstory. The good thing for Steven Yeun is that his latest film MINARI is getting great reviews and nominated by the Oscars.
Agreed. I feel that he should have more recognition and more apprearance in the series. More developed relationship with Rick and maybe being his other right hand man like Daryl. Since he is the voice of reason, his intelligence and great leadership could really help Rick throughout his tough times
It's not actually a secret why Darabont was fired. He wanted more money to make a higher quality show and AMC said no. That's why most of season 2 takes place on the highway, woods and farm. Super cheap locations. They wizened up going into season 3.
Exactly been saying since he got fired AMC are cheap so cheap and that’s only because the fan love the shows regardless of the quAlity so AMC probably were like why put more money if people going to still continue watching it
I remember seeing Laurie Holden at a comic con just before the lock down, and there was nobody trying to see her. I felt kind of bad. There were all the lines jam pack next to her, and nobody went to her table😐
Yeah it is totally rude, just greet for a minute, say "I loved your work.". I take free leaflets and brochures off people in the street, just to make them feel it has a purpose, and they're not invisible.
That's genuinely tragic. I would've stopped by her table to gush about her in TWD and The Mist. She's a great actress, she just got the short end of the stick with poor writing over her character.
I think Josh McDermitt is a sweetheart but I absolutely cannot STAND Eugene. Especially back in s5ish? I still can’t believe he would get death threats.
Yeah he was just awkward and a bit of an introvert maybe. But that was just a character not him. Not that it would be ok to hate someone for that. Reality check people
I feel like the show really screwed itself by killing off so many good characters for no reason. There were people like Chandler Riggs (Carl) and Laurie Holden (Andrea) that really wanted to continue the show, but they got killed off. So many people like Andrew Lincoln (Rick) just left the show while there were other people that really wanted to stay on it but had their characters killed off.

Hearing that that happened to Josh McDermitt is so saddening to hear because every time I've seen the guy not in character, he always seems like the most fun one to be around and just so genuinely a good person.
Uuuuhhh...no he was not a good brother... He left Daryl out in the woods and went out to get drunk and take drugs while daryl was lost in the woods for days... I dont call that a good brother sorry (also it's my opinionl
@- kool - Right. Most of their lives, he was a brother who probably would have liked to have done better, but was...well...deeply flawed (like many a sibling relationship in real life). The point of his death was to illustrate that Merle had developed the wherewithal to know HOW to do better, and do it, but it was apt to mean the sacrifice of his own life. And...that's what a redemption narrative is about.

Things worked out fine for Michael Rooker after he left the show. He'd been approached a few months earlier by his good friend James Gunn to be in the new movie he was directing, but had to initially say no because of his role on The Walking Dead. After he was killed off, he called him and said 'Hey, guess what? I died!' I loved him as Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Governor is the best antagonist in the whole series, I miss that character so much. He was cold, evil, empathic and psychotic all rolled into one. When he used to just stare at his heads in the fish-bowls and shout at his reanimated daughter, those were the best days of Walking dead, David Morrissey is an amazing actor!

Josh McDermott is legitimately an amazing guy. In the end he "marries" Maggie Season 4 he gets sick, split up from the others after the Governor's attack, try to find Maggie and meet another crucial group of people (Abe, Rosita and Eugene) Season 5 Being with the others after Terminus, controversial with Nicholas until the very end of the season Season 6 "Fake" death cause of Nicholas, comes back to Alexandria, have a baby with Maggie and unfortunate "true" death cause of Negan I think this is quite a lot for a single character evolution
I don't see an evolution of a character here. I see a flat character in which stuff is happening to it. Glenn as a human being is showing very little development.

About 7:47, millions of TWD viewers didn't stop watching the series because "Glenn was gone", but because how AMC played a cheap _'clickbaitish'_ cliffhanger for the end of season 6, with the sole purpose of attracting and retain "viewers", that was unnecessary! TWD at that time already had one of the biggest audiences of any TV series, but still, they decided to tease their fans with cheap gimmicks. The cliffhanger didn't create suspense or helped the story whatsoever, it just created frustration and indifference for the TV show. Right now, the show is doomed to utterly fail, why? Because in the past, TWD producers and showrunners already had made bad decisions *(the 1st one, getting rid of FRANK DARABONT, etc...)* but the final nail for the show was getting rid of the Carl Grimes character. Right now the whole story is a mess because they messed with the foundations of the house... TWD story doesn't have any backbone anymore, Carl was essential for the future seasons, that's why season 9 was plagued by substantial plotholes. Some of the TWD staff know that and that's why many of them aren't interested in the series anymore and are quitting and/or searching for other series/movies to be in, like it's the case with the actors and actresses that interpret Michonne, Maggie or Rick Grimes.

I always saw Eugene as a unique and welcomed flavor compared to the rest of the cast. He wasn't my favorite, but he stood out and brought a bit of reality to the show because, let's face it, a lot of people would be in the same situation as him where they're vulnerable alone and don't have survival skills.
I have said this on social media before and I will say it again here. I hated Eugene in the comics but Josh McDermitt’s performance as Eugene has actually been one of the ways in which I strongly believe the show became better than the comics, and that’s entirely thanks to Josh McDermitt’s performance as Eugene and the unique color he brings to the role. My dad and I both laugh our asses off at his mannerisms as does my friend who is a super fan of the comics and the show. Josh’s Eugene in the walking dead is both hilarious but also human; he brings a believable and realistic portrayal to a character that I found hard to see as realistic in the comics. Josh made Eugene real and tangible in a way I could not imagine any actor doing before I saw him play the role.
Andrea was written into a hole by the writers & producers. I suspect that's because fans hated Andrea after she shot Daryl in Season 2. Austin Amelio got death threats after his character Dwight shot Daryl, just as actress Laurie Holden had. And Laurie Holden hated how Andrea was written - she thought the writers butchered her character in comparison to how Andrea was in the comics.
@@TheBob1901 It's really unfortunate how Andrea's character ended up in the show, and I don't really feel like it was any fault of the actress. Just shows how poor writing and direction can really screw over a potentially great character. if you hate the way the character was portrayed, that just shows how talented the actor is! that "is" acting! Dont hate on them. That's the whole point!
That's the difference between loving to hate somebody and just hating them because they're annoying. In GoT case I love to hate Joffery but I hated Cersei to a passion and I'm just annoyed at Ramsey. The actor Iwan Rheon played him perfectly but Ramsey was so nerdy & evil you just wanted to punch his face.

Same! I totally relate; except with me it was Carl - he's my comfort character and I was literally heartbroken about him being killed off. I stopped watching for a while and I couldn't bring myself to watch further for 3 years.
I was the exact same way. I binge watched all 6 seasons in a week but then quit because I just couldn’t get past Glenn’s death. I googled what happened in the last 3 seasons and I realized I wasn’t going to miss much.
Can we all agree that season 10s Carol was probably the most annoying character in the show? I mean, I was rooting for Alpha at one point because Carol annoyed me so much. But season 10 overall, very anticlimactic with how Alpha died, Beta died.....I mean.....yeah. Just glad Maggie is back and waiting for her reaction on Neegan.

When they changed Carl from a worldly wise young man to an idiot killing walkers to free their souls was a death sentence. It’s like the writers keep forgetting what characteristics the actors were about

Jeff Demunn died in season 2. Also, after he handed in his resignation, Darabont spoke to Jeff and said he shouldn't resign on his part, and said there is a great future planned for your character, potentially. It's was so saddddddddd
I kept watching but was disappointed they didn’t show ANYTHING after the helicopter huge cliffhanger.
@@AntonDense they're going to make a movie sequels about it Rick is going to be in it I think Michonne will too but idk if Jadis/Anne will be in it. Also I'm not sure when the actual movie is coming out but I do know that they're supposed to start shooting the movie this year which is 2021 so I'm very excited about the movie!!!😁😁😁
I hate Eugene, but just like the actor that did Joffrey, that they can actually provoke strong feelings like that in the audience, really makes them stand out as excellent actors.
Eugene is was one of my favorite characters on the show. I love how much he has evolved. Truly an amazing actor.
I felt so bad for Josh, he didn’t deserve the hate for a character her played.
People sleeping on Enid, her intro was cool, fading behind Michonne, her death was really just dumb.
Facts
I loved Enid:(( I thought she'd play the role of Sophia. Idk why they'd kill her off
She was my favorite character and she had to get killed off
That whole group of deaths was horribly done
Nah i hated Enid, she had no character development
I'm highkey sad that the actors of some of my favorite characters didn't have fun being on the show anymore🙁
when glen died , the show went down . when rick left , the show ended :(
Have you watched season 10 ? If not don't be too quick to judge !
@@Fortniteclipz2014 😂😂😂 chill
@@samanthalualemaga3983 😄 yeah I know sorry !
yeah I stopped watching when Glenn died. I felt no reason to watch more after that. And it was more about the drama and not the zombie pandemic. I don't know even how this show can stand on its two legs and make an 11th season.
@@swissgamerzchannel2035 I have to admit killing Glenn was a bit of a random one I don't know why they did that but to stop watching a show cos of one particular characters death and judge it by not even watching it anymore me baffles me ! But hey it's your opinion. Stay safe
I feel bad for josh Mcdermitt, just because his character wasn’t liked for a small portion of the show does’nt mean you should be rude to the actor...... smh
Josh is one of the best actors. It takes incredible talent to be able to portray a unique character such as eugene and he did it so effortlessly. Shout out to him!!!
He is a really good actor and was so funny on his social media, what happened to him is disgusting
Doesn't it? No one bitches when people fawn over the actor for characters they like..
Dude shouldn't be such a pussy. Take it as a compliment you did a good job and move on. Nope he's gonna cry to the police.
@@johnv6806 sinds when are people sending you death treats a compliment?
WTF?! Eugene was great! He was just the kind of character we don't see often on shows, with a unique personality, far from being a cliché, profoundly human. In real life, there are all kinds of people, but sadly on TV, we only ever have half a dozen stereotypes, and Eugene was a welcome break from that.
Fans: Glenn better die like he does in the comics.
Also fans: can’t believe they killed Glenn. Waaaaah.
Watching the show now I want to murder my screen, the show has been so annoying with it new characters they are just so meh, they are all generic
@@john_7000 That happens to a lot of shows. Shows begin to feel different then they did in the beginning and watching it starts to feel more like a chore.
@@john_7000 if you don't like a show then don't force yourself to watch it me personally I like the Walking Dead but if you don't then don't force yourself to watch it find a different show that you like better I would recommend Stranger Things
I watched to many good characters die in this show
@@john_7000 really? The show has been great especially since Kang took the helm and the Whisperers were introduced.
Didnot even read this giant thing you wrote but still get a like cause this took time 👍
I agree with you buddy. So much potential, but the show washandeled by AMC: an incompetent group of sociopaths.
Nice doomsday scenario, but I still love the show! You don't have to, but I feel sorry for you!
@@RockStationForChrist Frank Darbont is the one who called them that. I was a fan of the show until mid season7,, when i was just got bored. I like some of the things that it did, but as it is, is just a waste of potential. Don`t feel bad for me. I have the comics and i feel happy with how they turned out. Still if you like the show, don`t let me stop you.
@@elsorzis5692
Damnnnnn and they can’t reboot the show everything is already set and it suuuccckkkssss
I always saw Eugene as a unique and welcomed flavor compared to the rest of the cast. He wasn't my favorite, but he stood out and brought a bit of reality to the show because, let's face it, a lot of people would be in the same situation as him where they're vulnerable alone and don't have survival skills.
Those people are just mad,and they know Eugene is them in an apocalypse but smarter!
Andrea was so annoying and the writers and producers knew the fan’s didn’t like her same with Lori we hated her
Whaaat, I thought people only hated Lori, I wanted to see more of Andrea :(
Andrea was written into a hole by the writers & producers.
Well Lori died in the comics so was gonna happen anyways but I liked her show death more then comics but Lori redeemed herself in the end
@@TheBob1901 It's really unfortunate how Andrea's character ended up in the show, and I don't really feel like it was any fault of the actress. Just shows how poor writing and direction can really screw over a potentially great character. It's so gross to think she had an 8-year deal with the show and they just kind of fucked her over like that too.
i like andrea.
And here we are in 2021 and Steven Yeun is an Academy Award nominee.
Anyone else remember when the show made it seem like Glenn died when he didn’t? I was so sad-
omg yes
IT WAS LIKE EACH SEASON! THEY TEASED US UNTIL SEASON 7
It's all about money. The actors were under paid.
Ye they killed off Merle wayyyy to quick. Him and negan wouldve been a great scene
I really loved seeing Rick being with Michonne who even showed a maternal side.
Me too!! I was so stoked two of my 4 favorites lol
if you hate the way the character was portrayed, that just shows how talented the actor is! that "is" acting!
@@salamander337 yeah all the villains did a great job in a Got. Hated all of em lol joffreys actor was excellent.
@@yazzyk1 Yeah, I found myself kinda missing Joffery after Tommen took over. He just let the Sparrows walked over him. Lol!
Season 6 was literally Glenn’s brutal season. He did a lot for the entire community. And his character had been on the show for so long.
Brings new meaning to Dale saying "This group IS broken."
Hod I love the relationship between Norman (Daryl) and Andrew ( Rick) that’s a bromance on a whole other level lol
I really liked Glenn. That's actually when I stopped watching the show, when they killed him off. I could see what was happening. The writing was getting more and more brain-dead and I didn't want to see something I enjoyed so much destroyed in that way so I just stopped right there. I haven't seen another episode after that one so for me, that's where the show ended.
I was actually a little traumatized by Glenn's death, so I HAD to quit watching.
Same! I totally relate; except with me it was Carl - he's my comfort character and I was literally heartbroken about him being killed off. I stopped watching for a while and I couldn't bring myself to watch further for 3 years.
Same, I kept seeing glen's face whenever I closed my eyes.
I was the exact same way. I binge watched all 6 seasons in a week but then quit because I just couldn’t get past Glenn’s death. I googled what happened in the last 3 seasons and I realized I wasn’t going to miss much.
A LITTLE traumatized? Lol That was the worst.
Same here.
Can we all agree that season 10s Carol was probably the most annoying character in the show? I mean, I was rooting for Alpha at one point because Carol annoyed me so much. But season 10 overall, very anticlimactic with how Alpha died, Beta died.....I mean.....yeah. Just glad Maggie is back and waiting for her reaction on Neegan.
first of all season 10 was amazing in my opinion!!
and nope to me it’s still Andrea .. she pissed me off big time in season 3
Nah, I still loved Carol in s10, shes not always gonna be this badass who does the impossible, she can have low points and her flaws are what made her enjoyable for me

@@kingpny9314 I know, however the source material for Invincible is incredibly vast, and would take a long time to complete.
When they killed Carl, they killed the show.
Carl's death was the worst decision that show ever made, but season 9 and 10 have been great.
When they changed Carl from a worldly wise young man to an idiot killing walkers to free their souls was a death sentence. It’s like the writers keep forgetting what characteristics the actors were about
Right. The show is so different now
The quality dropped off before his death but that definitely helped completely kill it.
yeah his death was wack
Eugene was a good character I think he gave a good spin on the show and when the characters in the show started to connect with him I thought it was really heartwarming.
Sending death threats to actors? Do they not know what a actor does? They act... ACT... meaning the role they play is FICTIONAL.
You gotta be screwed up in the head to do such a thing... disgusting
I didn’t realize that Josh had haters. I loved his character, and he did a great job. However, I cried with Glenn died.
I loved and hated Eugene. That means Josh did a great job. Like a number of hated figures, I’d like to shake their hands and tell them I hated their character. They’d take it as a compliment the way I’d say it, I have no doubt about that.
You gotta update Steve’s accolades after the show to include Oscar nominated actor. Leaving the show allowed him to grow as an actor
My son and I met Josh before all the social media threats. We were part of his Facebook and Twitter. He is such a sweet guy! We were horrified when this started happening. I would send messages of encouragement and love to try and help him. I understand why he went off the grid so to speak. It was ridiculous what some were doing and saying. There needs to be stricter rules and laws! It's a show. He's a great, friendly, down to earth man. I wish him and his family all the best! We love ya Josh! 💜

I feel for Micheal rooker . Merle was the best character and super interesting. Him and darly just reunited. Should have get Merle for couple of seasons
Jeff Demunn died in season 2. Also, after he handed in his resignation, Darabont spoke to Jeff and said he shouldn't resign on his part, and said there is a great future planned for your character, potentially. When Demunn tol the producers he wished to rescind his resignation, they told him the 'wheels were in motion' for his characters departure from the show. Decoded as - 'We don't want a hostile potential troublemaker on the show anymore'. The same thing happened to Laurie Holden (Andrea) in S3. She was also a friend a frequent collaborator of Darabont. And looking at her character arc in that season, it's easy to see they couldn't wait to get rid.
I've heard those rumors before, bit i can't find the source of Demmunn regreting his departure or asking for the producers to let him stay.
