just want to point out small trivia that is plot irrelevant: -Asta is voiced by same person as MC of Fire Force, but he is very loud and obnoxious voicing asta compared to fire force MC -i think normally for SHONEN anime, Black Clover first 2 eps is actually slower than other shonens cause typically the first mini villain or first fight gets resolved on ep 1, but BC took 2 eps. Black Clover opening musics is awesome, unfortunately u cant watch it yet, but u can listen to the music

That are "demons" and "devils". The 3 eyes creature that the Wizard King killed is called as "Majin" in Japanese. The term "Majin" is usually translated as "demon" in Eng Sub (but also has other meaning like devil, genie, fiend, magic/demonic person). The monster in the grimmore of Asta is called as "Akuma" in Japanese. The term "Akuma" is usually translated as "devil" in Eng Sub (but sometimes called as demon too). Now, as you can see, we have some inconsistent translation here. At the earlier episodes, the sub doesn't distinguish the 2 concepts "Majin" and "Akuma". Both are called as "demon". However, as the series continues, the 2 concepts will be separated. Remember guys, "demon" and "devil" are different things in this show.
Everytime Yuno interacts with Asta, as much as he looks like he's looking down on/making fun of him, it's Yuno's way to encourage Asta to become stronger.

I do love how Asta is basically the only person in the entire series who can make Yuno smile. It shows that despite it all, he still considers him a friend and brother.

This will help clear up why it never cuts people in the series, because its not sharp. Its just a detail thats never clearly spelled out in the anime. So chain guy wasnt cut in half he was crushed. Yuno is the deuteragonist, which means the second most important character in a series. Examples of character roles like Yuno are Killua from HxH, Sasuke from Naruto, Horikita from Classroom of the Elite, and Kuga Yuuma from World Trigger.

I LOVE the rivalry between Asta and Yuno. They're an example of how 2 people can be in intense competition and still care about one another. And the powers in this series are SO creative. The mangaka could have just stuck with the stereotypical magic beams of the 4 elements, but he really went deep and came up with all kinds of unique powers that still make sense in the context of the world. I'm with everyone else. This is a series that is best watched 2 eps at a time. Especially in the early days as the series focuses more on world-building than actual story for the first couple of arcs.

Before you have a book all you can do is summon your raw element. Yuno's Element is Wind, Sister's is Water, Father's is Fire, Nash's is Fire too. Chain Guy was Earth/Iron. Asta has none.
Not only is Sister Lily a nun, but she's Asta's mother figure who does indeed love him, as a son, not a romantic interest. Asta's in love with his "mother"! 🤣
Black clover has ups and downs in animation because it's a long running show and the studio did the anime dirty some times but I hope you guys will understand that
