Good driver, shit road, I've been in that situation many times, and its often just a case of bad access to some drop of points, when other roads are blocked or you are a stranger to the area, also the music you played suggested that this was going to be a slapstick string of errors, all I seen was the correct way out of that situation.
Nothing wrong with the road obviously not designed for B-Doubles & looking how wide he had to swing it when retrieving the B trailer not for standard length semis either.
Well, we all make errors......but at the end of the day, its how you handle the situation and correct it that sorts the operators from the steering wheel attendants. Only thing that seems to be damaged is a little bit of pride.... life goes on
Hello! After checking the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority website, if the B double has 9 axles, then the Gross Vehicle Mass allowed is 64,500 kgs. ( this is a Concessional Mass Limit, a permit is required) The maximum allowable weight over a tri-axle is 21,000 kgs but there may be variations in a particular industry.
i myself is also a b doubles trailer driver like that guy.what he did was right as some streets are really very tight and u have no alternate routes.even if u got in not knowing how the road was like, he could not have reversed a long way out.he should get the tibo route navigator which could automatically plan the route avoiding narrow streets and low bridges.
thanks for that, here you go, brit trucks have only 13.6 mtr trailers plus the unit 16.5mtrs but my truck has a moffet mounty fork truck stuck on the back too. 17.2 ish. Anyway after 16 years in this game i got stuck in Bradford city (uk ) TODAY! and the police had to stop traffic so i could reverse the wrong way down a one-way street in the city center, ooops! can happen to anyone. happy trucking mate!
I took a load to Italy on a lorry and drag. I was told to ask at a local petrol station for directions, as instructed I asked and was told by a very nice young lady that she lived round the corner from there and if I gave her a lift home, etc etc. We pulled up and she said I needed to take the next left, she jumped out and was gone. I took the next left, only to find that half a mile later it was a dead end. Ever been had?? This clip reminded me of the effort I had to put in to re unite my truck with the main road.
I feel for ya mate, been there delivering oversize structural steel into suburbs. Funny how those who take the orders or design the buildings never actually work out how to get the piece there.
You have to have training and a special licence here in Australia too, believe you me! Its easy to take a wrong turn. Reminds me once I saw a truckie pull into the MacDonalds car park, turned one turn too soon! Poor bloke, the car drivers didn't help him by getting out of the way either. We parked two cars across the drive way entrance and requested drivers to moved their cars from the car park to allow the truck driver room to turn around.
Well I can honestly say I’m glad I don’t pull anything as big as that, but props go to the driver he handled it correctly as some would have tried to force it round so they didn’t have to get out the cab. Well done drive.
Really good to see BOGDAN transport trucks again sadly they got bankrupt a few years ago , worked for them for a small time , I could a gotten it round there tho I'd go fully right , just pure skill I guess
Had my bonnet nearly at the front door of a town house. Saw the door open, heard a scream over the noise of the engine, saw the door slam shut, backed up, mounted the foot path, and just got around. Went back, knocked on the door to apologise. She was still white as a ghost when she opened the door. Poor lady thought i was coming through the door. Still makes me smile. Oh well. One of those days when you listen to someone else's instructions.
I pull a b double too.. my biggest fear is going into a city and taking the wrong turn..it can so easily happen.. we all make mistakes and yep i did it one night in melbourne.. the police found me and actually escorted me through the suburbs.. many thanks to them..so if ur honest and human.. just say i stuffed up..we all do it..dont panic and everything will be ok..worked for me..
All I can say is lucky. Over here in NZ most the B's you can't hook the tractor to the back unit as the landing legs will take out the back bumper when you turn.
@BAwithBALLS hi mate.. maybe you miss understood me, what i was saying is that a double roadtrain will go around a corner with less track IN than a b double, same same for a tripple, however a quad will not because of the bdouble section (or b triple depending on configuration of the quad) maybe we drive different up here in north qld :)
That's right mate, you mean an A-double train will corner better than a B. That's because the 2nd trailer of an A config is a drawbar trailer, what we would call in England, a Drag, and takes the corner better because the outward swing of the rear of the first trailer takes the front of the 2nd one to the right, and away from the corner. I used to drive A-Triples in the Territory and never thought about that before, but I know the effect well from driving Wagon and Drags (A-frame not centre axle 'caravans') in Europe.
Yeah been stuck before. Its to damm easy but he handled it fine. Drop the B come back for it. Nothing damaged, no high blood pressure. Happens to everyone at some point.
Ya just gotta ask .... what was he doing in the tiny backstreets of this really old suburb, with a B-double, in the 1st place??? Seems like he shoulda taken a map-reading course, before he took his truck licence. Planning your route - in and out - is just everyday stuff for drivers of ANY articulated truck - or even just large rigid trucks. Even on a lot of main roads, there are turning, height, and width hazards galore, just for any truck, let alone B-doubles.
@sleevedheart14 Yes he did. He's not gunna leave one trailer halfway across the country to deliver one and go all the way back again to do the same with the other one!
That one's called a B double. Its not uncommon to see both B's and full doubles on the roads. Rare to see a single these days in this neck of the woods.
Yep With out truckers the grocery stores would be empty in two days normally, wouldn't be alble to get fuel. U.S. would survive two days and then on the third day. We would be closed as a country and would be in panic mode.
Would a person who knows to drive b doubles and knew the road be able to make that turn without separating the trailers? (Just curious to know - It does seem to be a super tight turn)
rule of thumb: you need 4 lanes to turn a b double.from 2 lanes into a 2 laner.simple.remember that & you wont end up down back streets with single lanes.tigerboi
And the boss asked me while I was late.... "Well I just got this new GPS" "What the hell you need that for, been working for me for over 20 odd years and never made a FUCK UP like that.. Get rid of that damn thing"
Poor bugga, cant imagine what possessed him to take that down there, ah well we all make mistakes I spose. At least he thunk his way out the situation without any damage(exept for his ego).
hi mate, im a trucker from the uk but lived in new zealand for 6mth driving the b-trains but they are only 20mtrs, do they have b-double maps in oz and have you got to stick to them?
I'm a driver from Canada, I noticed that you have triples in the joint and on the pup ( back trailer).... and the wheels are close, we can haul 21000 kgs on that kind of configuration what are you allowed ? with the wheels a bit father apart we can do 24000 kgs.......... just curious
Poor Buggar, got stuck in a narrow one way street going the wrong way in North Sydney, was forced to continue, until some stupid BMW pilot decided that I should reverse, some 400 metres! The air horn and the bull bar won the day. Oh he had just turned into the street and decided to argue!
LOL at the wankers commenting on this and saying he is an idiot, I know him personally and he is an experienced truck driver =] 40+ years driving trucks and only had 1 or 2 accidents (minor ones) and besides, everyone makes mistake.. He is no longer driving though because of reasons...
BILALGAMING TV We do have the Globetrotter XL cabs in Australia, however some companies may be too cheap to buy the bigger cab or they don't need the extra space for the applications they use their trucks for.
Yup been there done it. Remember driving a wagon & drag down some street in Paris. guys were moving tables & chairs out of my way when I drove by & winding in canopys. The alarm bells shoulda sounded then. But my map said this is the only route. So being a greenhorn I pushed on.. only to be met with a dead end & a 1/4 mile blindside reverse out.. & yup I looked & felt a right cunt lol.
if he was off approved b-double routes he would have got a nice ticket, in some trusting parts of australia though they leave it up to the driver to use common sense.
Damn that guy as Dick Smiths... Told me this SatNav was made for trucks... knows OD routes and small roads.... Might be one ready they went belly up selling the wrong shit.
Great way to rip the air lines out. yes it happens to the best of us but really look at your street directory if not sure of the area. Did he cop a fine out of this for not being on a B double route?????
I see the cops on hand ready to give him a ticket for being off the b-double approved routes. And another one for obstruction when he dropped the back trailer.
There actually permits and every b/double must have 1 in the truck at all times so you don't get into any sticky situation's like this each state in australia has there own and they must be kept in th truck at all time's or you'll cop a fine i would've have dropped out and gone for a look in the prime mover(tractor unit) first or at least split the unit up and took 1 at a time to somewhere better lol but thats just me bogdens must've hadda bad day that day lol
@BoggaBillaRFS yea annoying times when you done something like that and you can only think to yourself like how the fuck could I do this.. lol.. but yea, shit happens. Things can't always go perfect and just sometimes we will make a mistake and then we gotta do the best we can to fix the situation and remember it so we don't get into it later on anymore. I remember my trucking mistakes still like yesterday.. and I blush when thinking about them =p
I dread this happening everytime I head into an unfarmiliar place, kudos for getting it sorted.
only do change over
its a whole lotta love that goes out to the dispatcher when they give you one of these addresses
Good driver, shit road, I've been in that situation many times, and its often just a case of bad access to some drop of points, when other roads are blocked or you are a stranger to the area, also the music you played suggested that this was going to be a slapstick string of errors, all I seen was the correct way out of that situation.
Why even have a Double trailer with a road like that?
I think companies are pushing the length of the trucks a bit too far.
Only thing that seems to be damaged is a little bit of pride.... life goes on
Pretty good quality video for a 2006 UA-cam vid. Thanks

You thought you was getting your willy wet😞
BET:C No not really she was a bit young. I want nourishment not punishment.
+tricky dicky
yet you let her in your truck.
I feel for ya mate, been there delivering oversize structural steel into suburbs. Funny how those who take the orders or design the buildings never actually work out how to get the piece there.
addison rae is hot

pretty smart taking off the A trailer and doing it one at a time
Really good to see BOGDAN transport trucks again sadly they got bankrupt a few years ago , worked for them for a small time , I could a gotten it round there tho I'd go fully right , just pure skill I guess
haha wtf dude, he got this one coming, who goes in suburbia with that beast
Damn B Double drivers! LOL>I'm glad I'm running a road train now, keeps me out of those sort of areas.
Volvo drivers tend not to think. They tend to be Steering Wheel Attendants
Had my bonnet nearly at the front door of a town house. Saw the door open, heard a scream over the noise of the engine, saw the door slam shut, backed up, mounted the foot path, and just got around. Good handling of a bad situation. Well done driver.
good driver, good music what more can you ask ?…
I pull a b double too.. my biggest fear is going into a city and taking the wrong turn..it can so easily happen.. we all make mistakes and yep i did it one night in melbourne.. the police found me and actually escorted me through the suburbs.. many thanks to them..so if ur honest and human.. just say i stuffed up..we all do it..dont panic and everything will be ok..worked for me..
poor bastard,, this happened to me in sydney, took a wrong turn and ended up in a housing estate, lucky i only had a single on!!!
All I can say is lucky. Over here in NZ most the B's you can't hook the tractor to the back unit as the landing legs will take out the back bumper when you turn.
Bob Higgison I think the second trailer is just an ordinary trailer unlike most of the nz ones.
knob of the year...best be getting the b double route maps matey!my rule is this...need 2 lanes to turn into another 2 lanes= 4 lanes...tb

The Entertainer how appropriate.... Lol

B Doubles are only supposed to drive on specified roads. Im guessing this wasnt one of them
I never get lost.I did once but then I found myself.
Oh no it's from my home town Shepparton. The truck that is. The owner used to live next to my old primary school
Don't know about over there, but here in the Netherlands you have to be trained to drive these.
whats the hardest to drive?? ur 4x4 jeep or truck whit 2 trailers? Maybe it was planned to go in there and unload something!
The Entertainer by Joplin. The song at the end, i have no idea. Just recorded it from an online radio station one day because i liked it :P
Hmmm, their doubles are different from ours here in America, but Volvo's are great trucks though.
dude that truck is huge LOL
i dont think its supposed to be on that narroe street XD
And the boss asked me while I was late.... "Well I just got this new GPS" "What the hell you need that for, been working for me for over 20 odd years and never made a FUCK UP like that.. Get rid of that damn thing"
Sense, sweet heart, sense.
Poor bugga, cant imagine what possessed him to take that down there, ah well we all make mistakes I spose. At least he thunk his way out the situation without any damage(exept for his ego).

leaves me wondering why he'd bring such a huge truck down such a small street?
Poor Buggar, got stuck in a narrow one way street going the wrong way in North Sydney, was forced to continue, until some stupid BMW pilot decided that I should reverse, some 400 metres! The air horn and the bull bar won the day. Oh he had just turned into the street and decided to argue!
If you use "The Entertainer" and speed up the video, please change the video to black and white.
Morgan its alright he is living the dream of being a deca trainer officer its ok morgan
dw we'll justblow his isuzu up hehe
The name on the door says it all.........
Either the truck was too big or the road was too small.
Not sure which though.
Why was a double up a residential side street?
Bet he won't go down that street again.
LOL at the wankers commenting on this and saying he is an idiot, I know him personally and he is an experienced truck driver =] 40+ years driving trucks and only had 1 or 2 accidents (minor ones) and besides, everyone makes mistake.. He is no longer driving though because of reasons...
His steering wheel is on the wrong site!
Victorian number plate says it all......
it was his first week of having a B Double Licence which bogdans paid for haha, he just took the wrong street and ended up where he was
From what i saw, no, he didn't get a ticket. Did get a talking to though.
Genius!
did the police charge the driver at all, hope not
Are the connections on the back of the trailers the same then?
@Truckaholic123 Was it the driver or the cops that thought of that???
why volvo truck on australia use the sleeper cab not the XL cab?
BILALGAMING TV We do have the Globetrotter XL cabs in Australia, however some companies may be too cheap to buy the bigger cab or they don't need the extra space for the applications they use their trucks for.

It's a good way to destroy tires on the trailer.
Song is from "The Sting"
Are you a "native" Australian?
handy way to get out of that alright. probably realised he was down the wrong street but couldn't go back now could he?
Poor Bugger i bet he got some stick for that
Easy done tho we all screw up from time to time
Was this in South Australia?
if he was off approved b-double routes he would have got a nice ticket, in some trusting parts of australia though they leave it up to the driver to use common sense.
yeah happened in Melbourne not long ago again. shit happens. life goes on.
Go Morgans dad u got it stuck *shakes head*
@sleevedheart14 Noone, i was just saying. Its also how we deliver more freight across the country
Poor bastard made a wrong turn and ended up there.
Embarrassing???? I would be proud to get into these situations and manage to get out of them. I sould know, I'am a truck driver.
Damn that guy as Dick Smiths... Told me this SatNav was made for trucks... knows OD routes and small roads.... Might be one ready they went belly up selling the wrong shit.
this is why people should be trained to drive b doubles. but if you dont know the roads it could happen to anyone i spose
its lincoin st rosewater. turn off grand junction on to russell st then in to lincoin . easy to do
A little "whops"! No biggie! :)
Even the best make a little mistake once in a while!
Great way to rip the air lines out.
yes it happens to the best of us but really look at your street directory if not sure of the area.

Good old GPS
GT 5 music!! yay! :D
thanks
@countrymusic4lyf Actully a road train would have a better chance or getting around then a b double..

copy that driver only on the big jobs stay safe.
2:38 cop car driving with open trunk LOL
Pfft mate, you probably wouldn't even know how to back a truck
B-Train
Bet he was following sat nav
he should of backed up a few meters then dropped the b trailer
shit happens. that's life.
@JODI2011RIDE this is not the first time a b-double has done this in that street,
Mantap
Its because he's driving a Volvo
Smart choice using a Volvo.Everything else sucks.
@BoggaBillaRFS yea annoying times when you done something like that and you can only think to yourself like how the fuck could I do this.. lol.. but yea, shit happens.
