What a brilliant video. Great advice, simple and practical. I like your video presentation. It is informative too, at the same time. Thanks a lot for your guidance!
Shouldnt need heath insurance. Healthcare should be free. Imagine losing your job and then getting cancer and then not being able to pay to stay alive. Looking at stuff like that shows me that we have a while to go before we have a true civilization.
I like to choose the lowest cost hdhp which has the highest deductible option that my company offers. I then use the premium savings to max out my HSA which covers the max OOP amount if I do hit it that year. If not, then just rolls over to next year.
There should be a bridge to the next year if you become seriously ill in December and hit your max oop but still need to treated the next year for the same condition, e.g. January.
This is very common in health insurance and many people do not know it exist. It is called a 4th quarter carryover, meaning any money applied to the deductible in the 4th quarter will roll over into the new year. It is not in all medical plans; it just depends on the plan you have. My knowledge is based on working with employer group plans. If you have one would call the insurance company and ask this question. It is also located in the certificate of coverage.

I'm on an individual Kaiser plan paying $738 a month. I have been to the doctor 2 times on telehealth. I don't want to pay this. I want a $10,000 max plan or a high deductible plan with Kaiser. They seemed confused by this.
Thank you for this video Joe, truly appreciated. At @5:42 mark you mentioned "add supplements" by this, would you be referring to GAP health insurance? If so, can you factor that into your next videos. It will help a lot. Thank you again for these
I really need your help!!!! I work for USPS there are so many options to chose from. I have a family. I have so many health issues as well and take multiple medications. I feel like I have been paying so much for nothing. UPMC Advantage.
I work for USPS as well and I currently have GEHA HDHP Family plan. It’s worked for our family so far but we are relatively healthy. It includes basic vision. I don’t think he covered it but in a HDHP you get an HSA (Health Savings Account) in which they add money into the HSA every other paycheck. That money in that HSA you can invest it into the stock market. It’s a triple tax advantage account. The money goes in pre tax, you can invest it and it grow tax free, and as long as you use it for health things, it’s tax free. It’s an awesome plan honestly. And whatever the cost of having insurance all year, it is actually less since they add money to that HSA. I would check the medicine that you require and if GEHA covers it or has it at a reduced rate because if it’s specialized medicine it might be expensive.
We live in Indiana as federal Empolyee, we had been with BSBC for more than 20 years. Only this year, heard about HSA.. I was thinking of switching to GEHA HDP just to benefit of the HSA. Their reviews are overwhelmingly terrible. I really feel it's good to benefit of HSA. The only plans with high deductible that has the HSA are Aetna , GEHA and MHBP. Any suggestions? Thank you so much
It's sad where I work my health insurance that I always pick came with a co pay per doctor visit. Which is usually 25.00 dollars. The health insurance giant got greedy as usually. I went from paying about 241.00 every other week, now if I get that same health now it's going to cost 500.00 dollars every other week. That's health insurance only. I can't afford that. Now I'm forced to take the health insurance that doesn't come with a co pay and a higher deductible.
does the MAX OOP include the premium? it does say that it includes the deductible.I have bi-monthy HPHP for 42. that's 1750 deductible max oop is 3000.and I get a 600 has. my ppo option is 30 dollar copay with 600 deductible and almost 200 a month.
Live in fl, going to need health insurance for 18 months till I can get Medicare, was on my spouse insurance but he turns 65 next month and will retire. So stressful knowing the right plan.
Let’s be honest, If your concentrating on just the out of pocket maximum for instance a family, Every individual person in the family needs to meet the deductible and out of pocket maximum?
The one that I know covers a Wellness Exam for Man (I don’t know what is included) and a Wellness Exam for Woman which includes Pap and Mammogram, colonoscopy if you are over 40
These numbers from health insurance is outrageous yeah let me pay $500 a month when I barely even use it lol. I’d be better off with paying a medical savings account in a high yield savings and paying $500 a month into that and use it my medical needs.
You can walk into any hospital and be treated if it's a emergency. They give you a bill, you don't pay it and it vanishes from existance 2 years later. I just taught you how free health care works in america. Your welcome
@ that’s not how that works lol. Any medical bill that’s more than $500 can stay on your credit for up to 7 years. You’re very lucky if it comes off in less than 7 years.

any tips on HSA plans for self employed? I see very limited options on ACA
I've tried to find one, and it doesn't make sense I can't find one.
Do you have to choose employer insurance if it is offered vs being able to choose an ACA plan?
No. You can choose an ACA plan over the employer plan if its a better option for you
@@healthcaremadesimple5367Very helpful channel! Do you have videos on how to apply for ACA subsidies?

Exactly
Would a high deductible health insurance plan cover preventative care?

I hope and pray that everyone throughout the world has great health, so we don't have to have health insurance . They are greedy
