Chilling....as a kid I used to play Dad's analogue reel-to-reel recordings of his film scores just to freak myself out. To this day I still get shivers when I hear his music. What also scared the heck out of me was his score to the movie Klute with Donald Sutherland and Jane Fonda! Thank you for posting this tinfoil unicorn. We hoped to get a CD of Michael Small's greatest movie score hits out but this is not possible as the film companies actually legally own the copyright to his music.
Yeah, I watched 'The Parallax View' only recently. The soundtrack captivated me immediately. Haunting and chilling indeed, just like 'Klute's', which I saw last year.
hm..if u haven't already check out "Homecomming" I think its on amazon prime, they have taken scores from old movies to create the mood of films from that era. u probably wont get the same chills but its a great way to enjoy wonderful scores that otherwise might be forgotten trough time.
I love Michael Small's musical language, especially the way he combined sometimes unusual or intense dissonances in the context of tonality. Totally unique voice imho.
Yes, I completely agree. Technically, the score is said to be 'minimalist', but whatever you call it, I was 'hooked' from the first time I heard it, and still am.
Love Your Channel, and, I Subscribed Too Your Channel!!! Blessings of Infinte Light To You!!! Everything that is out there, in the way of music, I need it. Music is a Treasure!!! - I turned onto music 8some years ago, and Wow!!! What Joy!!! I Love You, Jesus, I am Humbled. and You Are A Glory To Behold, Lord Christ!!!
I watched one version when at the end all the guys at the hearing got up and filed out. I never came across that one again. It always cuts to the empty podium then the credits.
I am someone who totally believes Oswald killed Kennedy, and absolutely loves this movie, as well as "JFK." Both great movies, great stories. Love this music.
Nope completely took me out of the episode and brought me here so I could hear the whole track and get back to my conspiracy thriller screenplay. I was enjoying the episode up to that point.
It's an arrangement for marching band of the main theme (opening credits music) of the film. The final assassination in the film occurred at the rehearsal for the assembly where the victim, a senator, would give a speech. It included a local school band. The composer probably wanted to juxtapose the oblivious innocence of everyday life of the average person with the sinister unsuspected intrigues that in fact affect his life.
@@360decrees6 Also, note that the end march is recorded with a lot (and I mean a LOT) of reverb...as if it was recorded in an empty, echo-ey conference center before the big extravaganza. ...kinda like the school band at the end of the movie.
*Sigh* It USED to be "sci-fi" or "thriller fiction"... Now, it's "Chumps-Wake-Up-To-Being-Years-Behind- Awareness-Of-Actual-State-of-the-Art Tech and Gear (hardware/software), and Evil NWO-Rotters's Agenda. Ouch. "The Parallax View" is a very perceptive film (as is "Iron Man 3", btw), and not to be missed.

Why won't Kevin Ryan allow ANY of his precious dust samples to be tested by an independent laboratory? Why won't Niels Harrit, Steven Jones, or Kevin Ryan refute the recent truth seeking professional scientific study of the WTC dust performed by Dr. James Millette?

Couldn't the govt. just haul the documents away and dump them into the ocean? And do you really believe that those were the only copies?
Have to say Michael Small is my favorite '70s composer. A master of the understated film score.
Incredible music for a film of the same. Cinematography genius.

@@Spoketlabolina - yes, the director of Homecoming used the score from my dad's film Klute
@@davidkennet Im lucky they did, I don't think I'd ever find this on my own!
this score just got released on a label called Cinema Paradiso
Brilliant film. Brilliant score. From a time Hollywood really did make great films.
This movie and it's theme music have stuck in my head since I first saw it in the 70s.
the stuff of our worst nightmares incredible piece
Wonderful brooding score. Michael Small did something similar with the music for Marathon Man.
I love Michael Small's musical language, especially the way he combined sometimes unusual or intense dissonances in the context of tonality. Totally unique voice imho.
Absolutely wonderful soundtrack to a great film that is looking more like reality by the day. Thank you for posting this fabulous 70s piece.
The sort of theme that gets lodged in your mind. Great stuff and it augments the film beautifully.
Stunning and atmospheric music score by the late Michael Small. Thank you so much for posting this video, tinfoilunicorn.
You're welcome, this is one of those scores for one of those movies that do not fade with time.
Great movie...great and appropriate score.
I love Small’s work, especially on The Parallax View. Thanks for posting.
One of the greatest conspiracies movies ever
not to mention the music track
too bad it was not a box office success
Many of the great ones aren't.
Simply brilliant.
wonderful, superb, sublime. thank you for posting.
The score is out on vinyl April 2021.
To me this is very similar to some of the track in "All the President's Men". Anybody else?
The first part is really addictive-listening. In South America it premiered as Asesinos S.A.

seriously twisted, my fave workout track, contemporary dance wise.
One of the best conspiracy movies of the 1970s.

great suspense

That's the ending on my dvd.... I have the UK version..
mr small has a signatture and its the thriller
Some of this sounds almost exactly like music from "Marathon Man." I realize it's the same composer but still.
Great Ringtone!
Wonderful soundtrack! This reminds me the 1976 OST from "All the Presidents' Men", mainly from 1:20
Thanks for posting!
+Américo dos Santos You're welcome!
That score was by David Shire. A movie that sounds really similar to Parallax View would be Marathon Man (also done by Michael Small)
I am someone who totally believes Oswald killed Kennedy, and absolutely loves this movie, as well as "JFK." Both great movies, great stories. Love this music.
Kudos to Mr. Robot for using this music! (at least a small part of it, anyway)

What is the title of the march at the end credits?

It wasn't, but sounds very, very much the same as the score for Marathon Man.

I know what you mean about Iron Man 3 that seemed to go over most people's heads.
