- This black mamba is determined to get to the other side of the river, but first, it must cross a crocodile-infested river. Will it make it through alive?

Giosuè Spinosa was out on safari when he witnessed this incredible moment. Giosuè shared his rare footage and story with LatestSightings.com.
When days on safari seem boring and not much is to be seen, it is always a good idea to visit the closest water source or river to look at what you can find. On this particular day, Giosuè headed to the Shingwedzi River in the northern sections of the Kruger National Park. After waiting and scanning the sand banks for any movement, something caught his eye-it was a snake!
Lifting his binoculars and taking a closer look revealed that this was one of Africa’s deadliest snakes. It was a black mamba. The snake was moving along a patch of dry river sand, making its way to the water's edge. The speed at which it was moving led him to think that the snake was not going just for a drink but perhaps was looking to cross the river.
The Shingwedzi River is a river that is filled with crocodiles and hippos. The hippos that were not too far off did not even notice the snake. However, the group of crocodiles that were basking in the morning sun picked up the Mambas movement almost immediately. One of them, who was closest to the snake, rushed off and tried to catch it.
The snake, however, was not only too fast but also too agile for the slow crocodile; it just moved out of the way with a quick turn, and the crocodile snapped its jaws, catching nothing but a gasp of air. The snake was now free to make a run for it! It quickly got into the water and began gliding on the surface with lightning speed, moving in different directions so that no crocodile that was lurking could even have a chance at catching it!
The rest of the crocodiles watched from the bank as the snake made its way successfully over the crocodile-infested river. But it was far from over; the snake unfortunately chose the wrong exit route from the river. It was hard to get out of the water in a really clay and muddy area. This slowed the snake down as it was struggling to move in the thick sludge that was at the water edge.
Seeing the snakes struggle and the opportunity for a meal, one of the crocs got into the water and swam across as fast as he could. As soon as he got onto dry land, he went straight for the snake, not fearing the highly toxic and deadly venom. He knew the snake fangs could do him no harm with his thick leather skin!
The croc grabbed the snake with one swift bite and swung it around, trying to kill it. This commotion drew the attention of a fish eagle that was perched on the banks of the river. When the eagle saw that it was a black mamba and a crocodile having it out, it made the wise decision and left without making an attempt to steal the crocs meal.
The crocodile, at this point, bit through the snake and killed it. The easy part was done; now came the hard part: eating the snake before the other crocs could steal it. The croc made a run for it, and with the snake hanging from his mouth, he rushed back to the safety of the water to swallow his hard-earned meal whole.

That eagle really showed up like:
"You're not gonna eat that are you ??"
The eagle had the bushveld equivalent of fugu. Raw thinly sliced puffer fish can be just as deadly as an amputated snake head, which can still bite. But there are always those who want the thrill of a potentially deadly snack, I guess.
I think it was snake poo and not snake head.
Either way, it was definitely snake DEAD
😂
😅😅😅...@jeffreybrewer8649, that's exactly what I thought the eagle was saying.

@@brandonfoisy8736 Crocodiles aren't invincible. The further inland it goes, the more vulnerable it becomes. This mamba just happens to be at the wrong place and the wrong time. The mamba's chances improves if they both were situated around dense trees, grass, and woods. It's only chance is to attack the croc's underbelly where it's more vulnerable.

As someone who's terrified of Mambas (isn't everyone? they're literally one of the most venomous snakes) I feel sorry for this one. It thought it was safe when it got onto land.
😢
I felt sorry as well during the shot, believe me. The mistake, I think, was going in the mud. If you watch exactly the shot, the mamba was captured in a very big hole of mud. To difficoult for her to get out of there. Poor animal.
Water or land big lizards(which crocs are) will win against any venomous snake.Snakes aren't normally sharp at combats ask a mere mongoose, let alone a badger.😊
I don’t understand how she couldn’t get out of the mud hole?
Landing a good bite on that Nile Crocodile would’ve been practically impossible for this Black Mamba.

Am I the only one wondering if a croc has ever died from being bit by a black mamba? 😂
Yup, one lived to tell the tale
I think snakes are pretty blind ,so trying to access soft penetrable skin is difficult
only way the mamba could get its fangs to penetrate would be if he bit it on the tongue. don't think the croc gave it that chance.

Never would've thought of an encounter like that
Mamba exists, and the croc took that personally.
That Nile croc must have some skill to not get bitten by one of Africa's most toxic snakes
No skill required. He knows the snake can't pierce his skin.
True
Skill or Scale.
Amazing, I would never have expected an encounter between these two reptiles!
That 🐦 was like leave me some crumbs😂😂😂
A part of black mamba was thrown away after it got brutally trashed around. The eagle got its piece.
Kinda shoking.
Snake disrespects size, disrespects territory, and proceeds into water.
I wonder why the croc didn't chase the snake in the water, and whether croc understands that drowning a snake might be a more dangerous way to kill it.
Rly cool, seldom seen interaction. Croc rly gunning for it at the end there.

Black mamba fangs are like hypodermic needles.. they are long and thin. Very potent venom but fangs are delicate..They can't generate crocodile armor unless like a lucky eye strike.. it was good as gone.. the fish eagle that showed up already also had that mamba invitation sights so either way.. it made a huge mistake going in the open...
Mamba's mistake was going up on land. Should have stayed in the water. Had a better chance outswimming the croc.

Damnnn. I wonder how venom works… when you ingest it is it fine? I know it’s not the same as poison but lol black mambas are notoriously venomous but their fangs can’t penetrate the crocs skin
Yea , exactly , generally venoms will have little to no effect unless they are injected directly into the blood
Wish someone can come here and explain this properly
On the basic level , the only way venom can work is if it's injected directly into the blood, with a fang or stinger
If touched ,swallowed , or anything else, it will have little to no effect
Yeah, you can injest venom and you will be fine, it's not poisonous as long as you don't have cuts on the way to the stomach.
This is mamba, so an elapid related to cobras, and they have neurotoxic venom, that blocks the synapses between neurons, which stop them from being able to transmit information, and that leads to paralysis,
Bird: "Hey bro, can I have this bit that fell off?"
Bout as good as the clip of the grizzly getting owned by the crocodile in Lake Placid!

Looks like crocs are immune to the poison.
Hi there! Mr. FakChex here.
Venom and poison are 2 different things.
Snakes are venomous meaning their bodies are not toxic, only their bite. Like a scorpion sting.
Frogs are poisonous meaning the flesh of the animal can kill. Also many plants.

Do you even know crocodiles have armour? Black mamba can never penetrate it. Besides, the croc was trashing it around with such impact that it cannot even turn around.
Even mongooses have problems dealing with adult black mambas simply because of sheer size, but a croc or a honey badger would easily eat them
When it do eat it with the amount if venom inside will that kill croc
