Update/ Video has been removed, clearly because it has gone public today as news, it had been up since September. Usual situation with a removal like this, it is gone because it is wrong/misleading or because it has info they don't want out yet? I think it is definitely the latter in this case.
Exciting times, still want that absolutely 100% official from the official channels news/info, but this is a nice bit of news to start the year. Nice to get a more recent acknowledgement of the multiple projects coming. Feels like things are starting to build now.
I think this news is very interesting and I really hope that everything in the video is canon because that would just be so cool, I also especially like the idea of the air series being the second avatar after wan, I think that could make for a very good show.
I believe going directly to air before going to fire after the earth avatar is because Pirya will be new and she needs time to breath as a character and new world to the audience. Unlike pokemon that new generation is just additional Pokemon, the new avatar is the death of one beloved by many. So i think taking a pause before going to fire is a good idea Going back in time especially for the 2nd avatar would be a wonderful addition in the series.
Interesting stuff. I think it makes sense for the theatrical movies to all be ATLA era, at least at first. You want your most popular, most assured stuff coming out in the cinemas so you have a good showing at the box office. Even with their more established franchises like Transformers, they didn't go "We're gonna make a bunch of movies about Wheeljack!" Like, yeah, no, of course they're gonna do Optimus and Megatron for the cinemas. I wouldn't despair about Korra seemingly not being on the docket for theatrical releases. I think Korra and even Kyoshi stories might have run into a lot of red tape just because they are queer main characters and cinemas are unfortunately woefully behind in that department, not wanting movies to get banned in certain countries, etc. It sucks, but at least with series and other media, they wouldn't have to worry about as many restrictions and censoring and can just let the characters be who they are. I'm sure Korra will get her due. We have no idea how finalized or up to date this lineup is and there could very well be Korra stuff in there that just didn't make one of the tiles, but is part of the digital content or something like that. The Air Avatar after Wan was definitely my first thought, and I think that could make for an amazing series. The slow realization that the Avatar is going to be a constant, recurring role in the world; do people not believe the new Avatar at first? Do they really have to fight to prove themselves after Wan and convince people they are the Avatar and can bring balance? So many cool possibilities.
@@regalbusiness2328Not sure where you’re hearing this stuff from, but that doesn’t sound like Mike and Bryan at all. Bryan refers to Korra and Asami as bi in his Tumblr post confirming Korrasami. Kiku Hughes wrote the ATLA comic “Origami” which had the first queer characters in ATLA. The comics have majorly championed Korrasami, so seems highly unlikely they’d suddenly say no to queer rep. Not sure why you think they would just randomly kill off a trans character. I think it’s best to wait and see for this stuff, instead of catastrophizing and worrying things will be awful
If I remember right, there was an early Avatar Studios rumor/leak a few years back claiming that they were working on a Chibi-style ATLA tv show, so it's possible that's what that "Air" series is going to be. That said, if this all turns out to be accurate, I find it really disappointing that their plan for the foreseeable future is to just pretend Korra doesn't exist and go all in on Aang. I personally think Aang is a boring character and I'm really not interested in seeing another series and a whole movie trilogy about him. Not to mention it sets a bad precedent for expanding the franchise if they plan to just immediately forget about new Avatars and go back to Aang over and over.
Pushing the character that built the franchise and made Korra possible, should not be a disappointment. Nobody said anything about forgetting new Avatars, you think Korra won’t be consistently brought up in our new Earth Avatar show? The universe is all connected, that’s the idea.
@@Bait154 So Aang fans get a full trilogy of movies + a potential new show of his own, while Korra fans get what? A barely minute-long prologue and maybe a couple of flashbacks? @@Firestorm2117 I think you're making some pretty big jumps there with the trilogy comment. I think it's likely Aang isn't the main focus of all 3 movies.
